Awopbopaloobop AwopbamBOOM! other than the fact that they were, not that long ago in history, I think he meant to preempt and guard against any claims that it was another ‘Muslim’ invention.
I love that these sharks as opposed to the US sharks allow the pitchers to talk to a loved one and hear every offer. It shows a real difference in cultures.
This title is incorrect. It says "Fight Cancer or Cut Manufacturing Costs". As Andrew pointed out, he has to figure out "how many lives [he] wants to save from skin cancer, and manufacturing in Australia." Manufacturing in Australia is more expensive. And thus, he has to cut manufacturing costs in ORDER TO fight cancer. It's not a choice between the two, rather the opposite. A correct title would be "Fight Cancer or Keep Australian Manufacturing" for example.
+themroc Yes and no about a normal hoodie worn over a cap vs his hoodie cap. With his, it eliminates the uncomfortable hunch, bunch, pulling effect a hoodie worn over a cap often causes as well as addresses the problem of the cap going askew upon certain movements. Not sure if I'm using the correct words to give you a visual idea of what it is I mean but it's just my thoughts on the product. I do certainly agree with you on the other style (cap hat) he created.
No it wouldn't dude, hoodies don't cover your entire face from the sun. Go try it right now, were in quarantine you have the time , seriously go put a hoodie on and a cap you'll see it doesn't cover your face
my dad got skin cancer while i was deployed in Afghanistan and i came home to him wearing one of these long sleeve shirts. not the same company but the same concept. it looks like an under armour type shirt that would make you sweat, but to my surprise it had some sort of properties that made it cooler than if you didnt have it on. love the idea. #BeatCancer
They never asked what the hat was made from, strange I thought,it should have been made from some kind of futuristic sun resistance fabric, but no he announced that he got a award and that sealed it. I also think that if Naomi did not offer to get the ball rolling the whole deal would have collapsed.
It really makes me appreciate being from the US seeing our market is so large and pretty much everyone is trying to sell here. No wonder why were all fat and materialists
Bernie always seems like he's about to breakdown and have an emotional calamity... "🙇😰😱😪" aside from that, I like him, he's real. I support him, and I wish him the best. 🙅♂️ 🙃
Prof. Roofs, MD I think while the voice over was playing, they re-played important moments to reintroduce the character to audiences that “just tuned in”
"you need to get your manufacturing costs down" Well, you're the sharks, you're the ones with the contacts to make that happen, otherwise, why come to you
Unless I missed it, the title is the exact opposite of what was said. They need to cut manufacturing costs in order to go mainstream and fight cancer more effectively - one leads to the other, not an "either - or" situation.
I'm very surprised none of the sharks asked questions like: what's the difference between this and wearing a towel or, what if you don't wear a hat and still want protection, etc.
Their twitter inactive since 2018 but website and amazon both still selling these and more so hats off (pun intended) to him and I genuinely hope he made a pretty buck out of it!
Why ? His opening proposal was for 25% equity which is exactly what he got but carved up a bit different. The equity element is 30% on a like for like. The loan is at a very competitive interest rate . What would make it not stingy or do you just begrudge a deal everyone in the deal is happy with?
He kinda has to in some ways. He lets this guy make horrible business decisions and he could lose all the money he just gave him. Steve is the one that doesn’t really have to care. He’s gotta be paid back no matter what.
Incorrect Buddy!! The Reflection from water actually only contains about 10% MAX of the UV Rays (because it's indirect, 'bouncing off' the surface of the water; as opposed to direct exposure capacity), so this product cuts out at least 90% of the exposure rate in the particular scenario you mentioned.
This clip highlights the problem with Australian Shark Tank. It is far too over produced. We don't need the vingettes. I think they take away from the pitches on the show.
Nitpicky but the title is a bit off since he would have to reduce manufacturing costs to fight more cancer anyway, it's not one or the other. Should have been "Fight cancer or keep manufacturing in Australia" or something similar.
Seems a little dorky to me. Might have some success in sunny US states at a lower price point, but I don't think it would sell near to "every stocking" level. I would also change the design so that the string closure comes out underneath and is hidden.
I've seen so many people speak ill of the Australian sharks... but in all seriousness, and maybe it's just me (?)🤷♂️, but does it not seem like they may be the most generous and "real" out of all the different shark, dragon, etc etc entities?
Finally a Shark Tank that is worth watching. It does not cost anything to help. ( Thanks Naomi ) Good to see Steve get behind this product. Seems smiles around for a change.
Damn brave fella to risk so much for what is basically a bit of elasticated cloth around your hat. It will sell in really hot regions, but even then in small numbers; it doesn't look stylish, just functional.
and with less trees.. there will be less shade.. and the need for the product will grow..// contact all cancer hospitals, fund raisers.. and the networks.. Thanks for the upload../ interesting case so far..
I do American flatbed work and often I am exposed to the Sun for several hours with my neck and face and arms, I wonder if he would ship to North America?
The fundamental problem is that we are much less exposed to the sun compared to previous generations but skin cancer rates are increasing. The natural sun is also the best source of vitamin d3 and provides numerous other health benefits such as preventing myopia. This business is established on an unfounded claim that direct sun exposure causes skin cancer.
For people that lack protective pigmentation, ie. most of Australia, exposure to harsh sunlight means a higher chance of skin cancer/melanoma. This product is definitely important for caucasians living in climates unsuited to their pigmentation.
Naomi offering to connect him to two retailers she has a relationship with is without asking for anything in return is a major gift.
She offered no money and when someone was trying to offer a joint deal she said stfu. I could also offer two good retailers right now.
This is the reason shark tank aus is better than the usa version
That was a wonderful gesture from Naomi... This show is cool.
Everyone on this show is so freaking nice. It just makes me so happy to watch

Racist

Every time a shark pulls out it's a big dent in his dreams and career and he still smiles and says ok
aw bernie, iv never wanted anyone on the show to do so well, go bernie
I think this guy is so down to earth sweet hearted soul So glad they gave him a lift up awesome I’ve got tears of joy ❤️

The hoodie stuff makes no sense. A normal hoodie worn over a cap would have the same effect. The original product on the other hand is cool.

A regular hood would come off of a hat when running as well. This wouldn't
No it wouldn't dude, hoodies don't cover your entire face from the sun. Go try it right now, were in quarantine you have the time , seriously go put a hoodie on and a cap you'll see it doesn't cover your face
I think both versions are ridiculous.

I’m genuinely happy for this guy and this family
After watching numerous videos of Aus Shark Tank, I must say that for the first time I have liked Steve.

“I m humbled”. Wat a wonderful response.
I really hope he’s doing well still. Page seems active with new products. He and his wife deserve success.
I see people wearing this type of hat all the time. Not a baseball cap style but a fishing hat style.

Exactly! Come back to us once your costs are under $3.00 and your profits are 20 million dollars/year. Why would they need them then?
I think they discovered a solution to this 2000 years ago in the deserts of Arabia

This exists in my country a long time ago.....
I could see Nike easily recreate this.
yes... a hoodie with a hole
are the sharks really there or isit just green screen dows anyone know?
They kept talking about getting the cost down in order to sell for 9.99 in the US. Cost to buy on their web site... $23.99 and up.
So the cap hat hoodie why not just a hoodie? .... I could put that over my hat before.... A hoodie with a hole in the middle ....
Sounds too hot
I cant see why I can’t just put on a hoodie and put a cap under instead
Most wholesome episode I’ve seen. Good for him.
