  • We're making our way along the Southwest coastline of WA, exploring the beautiful beaches around Bremer Bay. In this episode, we leave Reef Beach and take some lesser-known tracks west to explore the Beaufort Inlet, almost getting stuck on a remote beach in the process!

We’re so lucky to have this in our own country and good to see you’re sensible folk enjoying this space and not destroying the place like some I’ve encountered - I drive a Hilux now with a new setup like yours but my first venture across WA via SA was 2002 via the beautiful Fitzgerald River National Park and a big walk up Mt Stirling - all with my reliable 1990 Subaru Liberty AWD wagon with standard wheels/tyres and bullbar - I still remember news of the Bali bombings while heading south out of Norseman - loved Denmark, Albany and Margaret River - $40 to fill the 60 litre tank back then - planning a 2024 Spring trip for the flowers and Pilbara/Kimberleys - good thing you can handle the sight of red stuff 👀👣 - I now wear Keen closed toe sandals for everything except bush walking.

Great episode thanks. I'm reminded what a beautiful area it is around Bremer.
8 - 10 psi when you have to and if you're able to stay in a relatively straight line. But, you know that!
We've all had that sweaty palms feeling when faced with a really soft section of sand and no alternative route. The adrenaline rush and the relief when you get through is why we do it. :)

It's a stunning coastline down there. We were on that dead end track about 7-8 years ago. Did the same thing, parked the car end walked to check it out. It just didn't look right from the car. Still a great drive though.

Nice episode guys! I’ve spent many days exploring those exact tracks on quads and motorbikes. So much to see and many a late camp too 😂
That old wreck was a Mitsubishi Triton. There used to be track up off the beach but it’s eroded away. The Triton was near new when it rolled off and it deteriorates and moves each year! 😊

Oh there you go! Thanks for the extra info about it - we thought perhaps he had attempted to drive the track we walked down to investigate, got stuck on the rocks and the tide had taken it. 😬

Bugger. I hope that rock is ok. Everyday, unbeknown to the public millions of rocks are hurt in mines, construction sites etc. The roads are made of rocks that feel pain every time you drive over them. Free the rocks!!! They have given us some so much, it is the least we can do.

    • @explorebound

I’m getting around the same with similar setup weighing in at 2.8t with just myself and full tank of fuel ! My old 2014 manual Dmax used to get around 9.5lts L/100 similar setup ! Can’t believe how much more these new dmaxs burn 🔥
