Is the corner sewing part nessary?

You can not do that part and still have a bag, it just makes it a little easier to set down and/or make it a little more square, maybe sturdier or flatter on the bottom. I used to take sewing growing up and grew up with my mom, one of the first things I made was a bag. So you can do it without, it will still carry and hold things 😊
