No clacking from this baby. She already knows she’s Queen bee!
I just realized that too! Pretty cool. Nice confident girl!!
Haha yes she has been just on the other side of the panels so she is very comfortable with them by now
Wow, how soft Clyde looks when you were doing your spins and back ups. Goals! ❤
Thank you!!! ☺️ ❤️ he’s come so far! He really is a good boy!
What a fun time! I’m also very impressed with Clyde’s spins! What a cool reining mule 😍
lol thank you!! That would be so fun to have a competitive reining mule! 😍 he’s starting to get the foundation down, so if we can slowly add speed and more rotations! They have all sorts of mule events that would be pretty fun to compete at!
Ahhhh the sparkle in her eyes, she is so happy ❤ and Josey couldn’t hold herself from enthusiasm though good to have given her a little bit of time and space. Heartwarming you guys ❤❤
She has so much fun!! She has an abscess right now so she is off by herself 😢 but once she is feeling better she will continue to go in and play during the day ☺️❤️
@ healing hug for her 💖 she is (gonna be) a strong horse. I think you can already tell 🤩
@ thank you!! 😊
Looks like all your mules enjoyed the new kid on the block. Mesa is having fun, she’s a cutie. Good tips at the end. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching! It was fun to see her and Josey run around lol
Oh my goodness those hugs ❤❤❤

Josie’s personality cracks me up!
Me too 😂😂😂 she’s like… “yeah you better run!” Then also wants to play 🤦🏼♀️😂
Mesa is so beautiful, and Josie is hilarious 😂
Haha agreed 😂😂😂
Aw yay! 🌄❤
☺️❤️❤️
I didn’t realize mules are so lovey! It’s so sweet how they interact with you! They love their Momma! Thank you so much for sharing your life with mules! I’m learning so much about them!
They are really like big dogs once they trust you! ❤️❤️❤️ we love just hanging out with them ☺️
Just horsin around

Great fun being a part of enjoying all the innerACTION
Thank you
Thanks so much for joining! It was fun watching them all play together! ☺️❤️
Josey made me laugh, acting all mean. I think Mesa and Josey will be besties! Rita was sure having fun! Love it when a mule does the elk trot!❤❤❤
Haha I know exactly what you mean! Reata and Josey have the best elk trots I’ve seen 😂😂😂 Josey was trying her best to be intimidating 😂😂
Your training is amazing - excellence and quality in every move, right down to polite haltering and releasing. Love to see the kindness that underlies all your handling. Mesa is a beautiful, bold mover.
Thank you so much! My personal feeling is everything should be quality, including haltering, releasing into the pen, etc! ☺️ I definitely try to be respectful about haltering.
The new baby is doing great, and everyone else was so well behaved. You're so good at reading them and knowing what they want. Thank you for teaching us so much about equines.
They did so good being kind to her! Mesa is too funny! She had so much fun lol
Masa is looking to be the leader of your herd , she is quite stunning
Thank you so much!’
Y'all are so much fun!😂 God bless
lol thank you!! ☺️😂
You guys are taking awesome care of your Mules and horses. so big now and beautiful
Thank you so much!! We do our best!! ☺️❤️❤️
To cool! Good choices made. Love the background moving around.
Thank you! ❤️
I had a draft/mustang cross from McDermott NV when he was a baby and he looked and acted so much like her! She reminds me of him so much when he was that age!!!!! He is 12 now and an absolute beast to ride!
That’s awesome!! She should be a big girl! ☺️☺️
What fun I see she can hold her on with Josie lol good for her
Haha thank goodness! Josey is such a sass 😂❤️
@ yes I seen that but she did well held her own

Mesa is so freaking cute! Such a pretty face ❤
She is! She’s such a goof ball! ☺️❤️
So cool to see! 😊
They had fun! ☺️❤️
I have always been very curious about mules - especially as I get older. They have such good minds and lovely personalities; especially yours! 💕. Mesa sure can assert herself for such a young bug. (No clacking. Wow!) She is very confident and you are doing marvelously with her. She will be awesome!
Thank you so much! She is pretty darn sure of herself 😅😂😅😂
Mesa is so sinking cute.
Thank you! ☺️❤️
Great video, thanks and keep them coming

She had a blast! ☺️
The Equine University of Alyssa & Jason! I know all we newbies are learning so much from both of you concerning mules and pack horses. Great info again. 👍👍👍
Haha! We do our best to share what we know! We still have a lot to learn too! ☺️❤️
Clyde is just too cool!
Than you! He’s a sweet boy ❤️
Josie is a Looker! No wonder you fell in love with her.. Love those mules, horse too.
Thank you! She really is a neat colored girl and has such a sweet personality to boot, and talk about smart! I’m so thankful we ended up with her
Josies looking big!
She really has been growing!! ☺️🙌🏼
In the summer we feed a beet pulp and rolled oats mix. Keeps them happy and healthy.
❤❤❤
You have a beautiful backyard !!! Really enjoy all your different videos !
Oh thank you! All we see is the things we want to fix up still lol so we appreciate that
Always fun introducing a newby to the herd. My favorite thing is to watch herd dynamics. Honestly I’ve never been a mule lover but over the last few years I’ve seen some that are really cool. There are several ridden in EXCA and they are really really cool. Yours are exceptionally nice. Clyde really reminds me of my grey mustang flywheel and not just cause he’s grey. Haha. The offering to climb up on the object in the corral and then grabbing your jacket plus the ears… and the goo. 🤢
Haha the goo 😝😝😝 😂
Your mustang sounds awesome!! There are some really cool mules out there! ☺️☺️
O she can handle it ! She’s a tough one !!
Haha she is! She’s saucey 😂😂
I get the feeling that Josie thinks she is in charge. She’s so cool.
She definitely does! Haha
You should look into getting a thermocube outlet. They only turn on when the temperature his below freezing that way your not constant running power to your heater. I absolutely love mine for our cattle.
Oh neat, we will have to check those out!! When we buy a different property I think we will spend the money to run power closer to where the waters will be and set it up more efficiently! Those sound great
Ooooo so spicy Josie! 😆 All your equines have such lovely personalities. Mesa has such a darling little face. Did her previous owners dock her tail? I know it's common to do with Percherons (well almost all drafts really). Just wondering 🤔. That was such a smooth intro to the herd. No drama or anything 👏👏
Haha Josey is spicy! 🌶️ 😂
No they didn’t she should have a long beautiful tail! She is only 9 months old so it’s just short still ☺️
I long for the day i have frost free spigots!! We are off grid. I pump from an enclosed spring using a gas pump with 9 full size hoses which, in winter, all have to be disconnected, coiled and put away and the pump brought into the cabin. I fill a 300 gallon tank half covered with a half jacuzzi top. I heat the tank with a big trojan propane stock tank heater that lasts a week on a 5 gallon propane canister. If the water gets low enough to expose the heater itll cook the paint off so i have to shovel snow in if we have fresh snow or.....roll out the hoses.
Summer is such a reward!! I can leave hoses out and put the big heater to bed!!! But its beautiful water and thank god for the propane heater. Expensive.at 1500 bucks but sooooooo worth it to keep the water thawed.
Just thought id share for anyone wondering about more chores of equine guardianship. 😉
I feel you to a degree!!! I lived off grid for a few years. I’d have to make trips with water tanks, up to the spring and back down to fill the big tank at the bottom. The ranch I was living on finally put in 3200 feet of pipe from the spring down the the barn. Running water was such a treat!! But in the winter the pipes often froze or a tree would fall and I’d have to go cut the tree and fix the pipe. Thankfully it wasn’t as cold there (western Oregon) so that made it a little nicer.
Sounds like you have your work cut out for you but like you said, without that heater it would be so tough!! I remember turning on a light switch and being like… why did I ever take this for granted! Or a hot shower with decent pressure haha!
@MTN_BUILT right????? My mom is 91 and has an apartment with endless hot water. She hates showering . No matter how many times I tell her what I have to do to get water she still is just lacidazical about a hot shower. Haaaaa.
I steal showers from her often to conserve ours and its pure heaven!!!
Makes one appreciate every single luxury.
But the sweet part is when people in town ask....oh did your power go out in the storm??? I say ......no ...its always out I didn't notice nuthin😝
@ hahaha right??? I used to love that too!! 😂 to this day when the power goes out I think “gosh I should just live off grid again, this is annoying” 😂😂😂
Off grid makes you realize how much time it takes to just do every day tasks. Dishes, shower, heat, cook, etc.
@MTN_BUILT indeed!! I love it.
No question whos gonna be the leader. Shes unphased by the long eared tribe! She would giggle if she could lead them on a chase all the way to the mountains.
Haha she would!! 😂❤️❤️
So good to see your whole herd just playing. They are all so cute in their woolly bear pajamas.
Q: I'm sure you already said what cross Riata is, so could you direct me to where I can read FAQs? Thanks ahead. And thanks for posting everyday stuff. I have not owned a personal equine, and I probably won't anytime soon, but your channel has me researching the possibilities.
Do you lay down PDZ, aka Zeolite, to nutralize the urine ammonia?
She is a aqha/mammoth donkey. We don’t. We have sandy ground so there isn’t a need. The urine doesn’t sit around unless it’s frozen, and then it’s usually just a couple days. The dry lot area is where the mules go in the winter so that the pasture can rest.
Your new filly's coat looks like she has a little chrome. It is it just the winter light reflecting off her?
She does but that may all she out. We are curious to see what she will look like!
When you said she wants to eat her halter...how do you get her NOT to grab it? We have a 20 mos. gelding and he is so fast he always gets his halter when we try to put it on! very frustrating BUT he is mouthy and grabbing at EVERYTHING in the barn! The stall fork. Halters hanging on the doors, saddles and saddle pads in his reach, cords from the electric buckets and buckets themselves!
Josey seems enamored with mesa but all of them were good with her.is she just too young to be around them all the time is there some danger for her. Do you think they like the warm climate better or does it matter. Do you guys ever wake up and it's twenty below and you say nah not today lol. I was wondering what do you guys eat for breakfast on those cold mornings and what time do you rise in the morning loved the video I always learn something thanks kray
Haha Josey was definitely trying to figure it out!!
They can get more assertive around feeding time, so we separate them at feeding so that Mesa can get all she needs and no one picks on her.
We are normally up around 3-6 am (depending on if it’s a work day)
Haha yeah those days we don’t like to ride or get the equines sweaty at all because they would be very cold. So they usually get those days off. Yesterday was wet and nasty with a heavy snow and everything was so slick that we didn’t work with them.
Y’all ever put gold fish in your water tanks to eat the algae? Do that with cattle and they work great 👍
We don’t because we dump and clean every 2 weeks to clean them so it would be a pain to catch the fish. I had tanks with fish as a kid and they were always nasty.
👀🫶🏼👋🏼👍🏼👍🏼🥕🍏☕️
lol! Mesa has so much personality! Seems ready to be in charge even as a filly! 😂 never seen such a young horse pushing the adults around so much! I don’t own equine tho. Just watch videos of others or experience them second hand through friends and work
Haha our are pretty nice and big push overs. We wee honestly hoping that they wouldn’t let her be so pushy and teach her to be respectful of her elders 😂😂 but not the case! Haha
She’s growing like a weed!
She is!!! 🤩🤩🤩
I'm not very good at technology, so I don't know how to privately message you guys... I live in the Black Hills and would love to ride with ya'll or even host you, your mules & your pups if you ever want to come back to explore. Let me know if you're interested. Thanks 🐴🐎✝️
That’s so kind, thank you so much! If you want to reach out privately You can email us, if you go to our profile page it’s near the top by our profile picture ☺️
@MTN_BUILT Will do. I'll have to wait until my hubby gets home (he's a trucker), as he knows how to email 🤪
Don't buy the hay because of the price. if you can't see it before you buy it then make sure that you are buying from a dealer with a great reputation. hay would be cheaper if there is something wrong with it.
Exactly. Like it’s been rained on in the field or after it’s baled, it was cut after it was past maturity, it’s been stored for a long time, etc. always check it out before you buy it and load it if you’re buying from someone you haven’t bought from before!
Upload times shouldn't be when your audience is in bed. Your analytics should tell you what time and day of the week is your sweet spot so far. Focus on that and branch out from there. I would find it odd if 11pm PST on a Monday was the best choice. Keep up the great work.
I’m so glad they uploaded while I asleep!!! I had a great video for my first cup of coffee this morning!!!
@@gregs9187 it was scheduled for today at 9 am. Very frustrating it just uploaded at a random time 🫤
So glad you enjoyed it with your coffee!! That a bonus about it not uploading when it was supposed to I guess haha! ☺️
@MTN_BUILT Well it was a pre bedtime treat for me. Can't wait for the hot rod episodes
@ lol 😂 well awesome! When I woke up this morning I was like… what the heck?!?!? Haha! We are excited too!
