Remember guys if it's the same name but looks different then it's a regional form. Different name then it's a completely different pokemon. Even some regional forms evolved into a completely different pokemon.
Yeep, convergent species/evolutions vs divergent species/evolutions! Its so neat that Pokémon has started incorporating even more aspects of animal biology into their concepts.
And that is why wigglet isn't digglet

The regional forms was one of the best ideas that Pokémon did
I hate it so much. It drives me up to the wall that previous regional variants aren't accessible at all despite being coded in unless you transfer directly from previous gens. I'm so glad Paldea has so few of them.

Toedscool and Wiglett are cases of convergent evolution, where a completely separate species evolves to have similar traits to another.
Alolan raichu looks like a better pawmi evolution than its own

Fun fact about wooper/clodsire! They both can still have the ability water absorb, making them really good choices if you are looking for a ground or poison type (from what I've learned), since water absorb gets rid of their water type weakness.
It's only weak to Ice, Psychic and Ground with water absorb

Gotta say, the new models/animations for the older pokemon look so good.. My shiny glitchy lil luxray looks great, and I'm glad to see other pokemon that weren't in arceus getting the same treatment
Meowth can be put in a whole team of Meowth forms
And we thought Charizard and pika got special treatment...

Because they fucking do? Meowth having lots of forms doesn't mean it got special attention that Pikachu and Charizard didn't. Also, REGION CAPS! Pikachu has WAY more forms than Meowth anyway!

What's confusing is that Eevee, which is literally genetically unstable, has 0 regional variants. Meanwhile Meowth, which most likely is genetically stable, has 3, with one of them having it's own evolution.
You can actually acquire the Hisuian forms in Scarlet and Violet? I was actually hoping that would happen.

But they can transfer over from Legends once HOME become available for S/V.

@@magentaface2750 Really? I mean, with the amount of Pokemon that have either a Hisuian form or a Hisuian evolution, and how nearly every Pokemon that has those aforementioned forms in this game, AND how this game focuses on Past vs. Future, you'd figure that this would be an obvious thing to do.
They're planning on making home available for the new gen next year

Wait a minute. Scyther kind of has paradox forms, becuase cleavor is it’s past form and scizor would be it’s futuristic form

It has to be transferred in from another game and is not obtainable any other way

Same thing with how Alolan forms were handled pre-DLC in Sw/Sh. Fortunately, transferring between Switch games is free, so you don't need a premium plan for this.

It's disappointing that in Paldea we just got 2 regional forms, what is a thing that the pokemon community actually really loves. I think the pokemon company gradually, will forget this mechanical, sadly
I dont think will see it go I think it just took a step back because of convergent species being a new thing. For sure it'll be back in the next game and they'll probably add more.
i think we only got 2 because of convergent evolutions and paradox forms this gen which fill similar purpose
To be honest, I'm not upset we already got a huge dump of regional forms earlier this year so I think we're good.
To be honest, this game has too many form variations... Convergent evolutions, past and future paradox, and regional forms... I know paradox pokemon aren't forms, just like convergent evolutions, as they are completely different pokemons, but they are merely using past designs in the absence of creativity.

love how they came up with something new that was a risk because pokemon fans are sooooo nostalgic and strict, but this makes total sense, always a fun biological or plot background, i love it, so organic
How is it possible to get not just Hisuian/Paldean forms, but also Alolan and Galarian forms in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet? (Also for Pokémon Sword and Shield)
I know it’s not likely, but will we perhaps be able to transfer certain Pokémon to Paldea via Pokémon home? I’m talking things like hisuian forms and Pokémon from sword/shield save files.
yeah all the hisuian mons can be transferred. not everything in sword and shield can be transferred but a lot of it can, and DLC will add more mons to the game

Wait, why the hell isn't Tentacool/Cruel in the game if its convergent counterpart is in? kinda odd to add original diglett to go with Wiglett but not Tentacool with Toedscool.
Because tentacool and tentacruel are fucking annoying. You go into the water for 3 seconds and you encounter one because they blend in with the water. Keep it out of the game.

I feel lied to... some of the first trailers for this game were showing off Hisuian Zoroark and its NOT gonna be in the base game?! We have to wait till early next year for them?! How does that make any sense?!?!

all of them make no sense and are just a commercial move with lack of creativity, next pokemon title the evil team should do something to make disappear all the alternative forms and the protagonist isn't able to save them for once (teaches also a valuable lesson in life). From there they start clean, and no more regional forms or rinse and repeat new pokemon.

Some of this new regional forms really suck compared to some of the original Pokémon designs
They should have made the third tauros form fighting/grass instead of plain fighting
so dissapointing there’s like 3 painted black tauros forms, barely any diff to each other it’s crap and a grass one would have been sweet

Perrserker isn’t a regional variant, it’s a completely separate Pokémon, even if it evolves from a Galarian Meowth. Same goes for some of the other Pokémon you included. If a Pokémon has a completely different name, it’s not a regional variant.
Ursaluna, Wyrdeer & Kleavor are not regional forms they are actual proper evolutions

In the let's go games, the legendary birds spawn above ground even if you already caught them
That's because they're not region forms, they're the Origin forms. Have you been living under a rock for two years? Did you forget about PLA? Not having played it isn't an excuse to not know about...literally the biggest detail about the game...

That what it used to be, but they kinda dropped that with gen 8 with the galarian birds as you can get both the kanto and galarian birds in one game. Even if you couldn't, there wouldn't be a regional varient or the birds if there's only one set.

Pretty sure Toedcool and Toadcruel aren't regional variants but convergent evolutions like Diglet and Wiglet.

The title would be much shorter (and fit into the preview on Web version) if you removed all the region names and just said "Regional Forms"
Edit: Many of these ARE NOT Regional forms to begin with. The Dialga and Palkia you showed are their ORIGIN forms, NOT Hisuian. This is like. The whole point of the story of PLA, they're not regional, which you would know if you played it lol

Tentacool/Cruel, and The Zubat Line not being in game is foreign to me considering Tentacool, and Zubat were seen all over Hoenn, in caves and deepwater.

@@noodlesandeggs1512 Tbh there isn't concrete evidence to suggest that they are "extinct" They could exist in modern day but very rare. also the method of evolving some of these mons can still exist like using peat for Ursaring for it to evolve can still be a thing just not in modern day Sinnoh perhaps another region we don't know yet.

I mainly have two nitpicks here. Firstly, wish you'd actually organize them So I wouldn't have to scroll around. Second, you included Palkia and Dialga when they don't have regional forms, those are origin forms, forms that they can change into, like Giratina.
Hisuian Zoroark, Alolan Ninetales and Galarian Rapidash are my favorite regional forms.
They're so cool and idk why, i like things with flowy hair.

All of these were hacked in except johtonian wwooper and galarian meowth. To get wooper you have to trade an npc a flabebe
Galarian Moltress is transfer only from sword and shield to home then to SV but that wont happen till 2023

if they get new evolution later on it not new forms, and if it is listed as a new form, is it a form tied to a region or the pokemon
example origin forms for dialgia, palkia, and giratina are forms to the pokemon not a regional thing palkia and dialgia got them later on to just finish the trio to have origin forms
while alolan pikachu is a regional form that you can only get in other regions from in game trades(and trades in general if the person has it)
get your regional form check right please it is annoying me
