@@mmafighter6355 hi, a few things. 1) i honestly got sick of the noise 2) check engine light would come on at times and i found one of my oxygen sensors had failed so i put it back to stock to investigate 3) i think it was best installed over the winter to get more cold air as in summer time it would just suck in hot air and the heat shield was not really helping.
Its nice to hear the turbo spooling and waste gate even in 4th gear which was much quieter before. The induction sound is really bass like. A few times i could not believe it was my car making them. Great result.
I drove my car around the block with the air filters off and exhaust off so it was just the down pipes which have been de-catted. IT SOUNDED AWESOME, but way too loud.
Excellent work Kent ... that air filter does make a huge difference in sound of the engine hopefully should give a little more bhp next exhaust .. Got a K&N filter on my XR2i with a full stainless steel scorpion exhaust sounds the nuts flames pops and bangs love it
Oh i bet that is nice. I would go driving every day just to hear that, no radio needed he he. Im gonna get the timing belt done this month then look at getting a stage 1 remap. I want the engine to be good as new, its a great car.
Oh shit man, you gotta check your divertor valve, your TT should make a “wooosh” sound, not the turbo flutter you hear in this. You should look at the vacuum lines connected to the diverter valve and just check out that system.
hello, nothing actually. The instruction page said to connect it if you were able to but my car had nowhere to put that second little filter. Honestly i think because i have a quattro, i got the wrong type of filter. anyway i took it off ages ago, dont use it any more. i got sick of that noise 😋👍
Hi, i thinks its just the waste gate. My car always had this sound with the stock air box but now is just really audible and i can even hear it in 6th gear as there is less restriction. I've made no other modifications.
@@RiddlerOnYutube I dont suppose you are able to see what wastegate it is you have on the car? I havnt been able to find one that sounds quite that nice. Tia.
on the 1.8Ts you typically do not want a flutter, it’s known as a sign for a bad diverter valve. 034 makes a good budget replacement that sounds extremely good
@@occasionallysatisfied2349yes the OEM plastic diverter valve was at fault. I replaced it with an aluminium forge valve. No more flutter. It did sound good but it was bad 😅 👍
@@RiddlerOnYutube Thanks for sharing this. A few questions: 1. Have you had error codes or check engine light go on since installation? 2. Did you have to tune the ECU to accommodate the larger air intake? 3. How often do you need to replace the cone filter in comparison to the stock air filter/box setup? Thanks again.
Just put the exact same 80mm induction kit on my stock MK1 225. Sounds great and you can really hear the turbo like in your video but it doesn’t make the flutter noise like yours. Have you changed anything else at all?
Thats cool man, but for me i really don't know. I can only guess that there must be an aftermarket wastegate installed. i have put nothing else on the car.
@@leonardomorelli8426 No extra significant fuel consumption just more air delivered to the turbo and a different sound. I have removed this mod now anyway as it can confuse the Mass air flow sensor and show a check engine light over time.
Thanks for the upload Riddler. I just made my purchase. Can't wait. I'm in South Africa, so it will take a while. :(
There was another part connected to the air box that had to be taken off and there’s nowhere to put it on the new intake?!
I also want to know where it went
I guess you can sort out the CEL if you get a remap?
Diverter valve is fucked. The flutter isn't normal. Sounds good though 😁
Yes the diverter valve was broken. It was not holding vacuum. The flutter sound is nice but not normal. replacing it fixed it.
I hope you have replaced your diverter valve since this video as that flutter is not normal and normally a faulty diverter valve
hi there, thanks. no worries. i removed this filter years ago now. back to stock as it was built.
@@RiddlerOnYutube what made you remove and go back too stock? Ive had power and boost issues since fitting mine

I really enjoy car modding videos. Wonder what the difference is driving with the new intake.

Hi just recently purchased an audi 225 2001,what turbo is on these cars
K04 turbo
Can I do this on a 2006 TT 1.8L, (180)?
Yes you can but measure your hoses 1st coz they come in 80m and 70m ramair have a sale on put in your reg and they should send you the right one

Hi, I have stock 1.8T 180hp AJQ engine, I can use this air filter too?
Hello. This 225 Quattro has a bigger turbo than the 180 and so has a wider maf housing. You may need the 70mm wide maf version.

no problems with the cone but i did find out that my diverter valve was bad so i replaced it. The cone is good and works fine. No check engine lights.
How did you get that turbo flutter sound??? I'm considering doing this to my 225
