@itsmejb @flowstate videos. The 2080ti is not outdated for Minecraft mods. This specific mod list is not performance intensive. Sodium and Indium actually give you better frame rate than vanilla Minecraft. They are performance enhancing mods. Distant Horizons and bliss shaders are not performance intensive. Distant horizons uses LODs, which do very little to affect performance negatively. Bliss shaders is one of the best performing shaders out there. With this mod list and Bliss shaders, I was getting 165 FPS consistently. No dips. However, I was still getting micro stutters that caused the choppiness. I'd get the stutters, but notice my frame rate stayed pretty much the same. If it came down to my computer not being powerful enough, I wouldn't be getting 165 FPS consistently. It would be dropping frames. I still got stutters every few seconds, but the frame rate never dropped. This leads me to believe it is an issue with the unofficial versions of these mods. Like I said in my previous comment, its most likely the drivers. I have another modpack that I made with over 200 + mods, and Complementary shaders on high settings, and I still get over 100 FPS consistently with no dips or micro stutters. I've used distant horizons before as well. The official versions of these mods never gave me any issues. I'm gonna make a video right now and post it on my channel proving to you that my frame rate is consistent. Also, to answer your question @itsmejb, I have an i7 9700k, so no bottlenecking is happening. I have 32 GB of RAM, and 16GB allocated to my Minecraft.
for people seeing this now- they removed the option to install DH from that executable. Additionally, you may need to manually install Java for your PC if you're used to playing on bedrock. My PC didn't know what to do with the .jar file until I installed Java manually.
Disclaimer : Long render distance with shadders doesn't work for 1.19.4 version, there is no checkbox for this version. They should say it before letting people installing stuff. This is a problem as most people don't play on the last version of the game.
This is becasue Iris considers 1.19 version of itself "dead", so DH compat is only for 1.20 (DH on the other hand actively supports all versions it was released to)
its still a shame that for some reason my computer just freezes distant horizons regardless of what i set it at. seeing these really gets me back into wanting to do world painter and mod packs but just would like to understand why my machine gets so stuttery very well done tutorial btw im surprised someone hadnt already done it honestly
I’ve been playing this with my nephews. My mod pack was built from yours with a bunch of custom structures and unique stuff to find ingame. My goal was to make Minecraft seem as unique and cool as possible for my nephews. We been playing together and have a blast.
@@flowstatevideo I just installed it for the first time, the sodium has a bunch of extra files like "reese's sodium options" "sodium-extra 0.5.1" and stuff like that.
It should appear automatically if you install Iris to your .minecraft directory, which is the default file path. I didn't do anything extra to make it appear there.
Wait DH auto load fresh chucks, if so, so cool, and very useful so you don’t got to go around loading everything just to see it and not look wierd with random gaps in the world.
when i go to download universal jar it keeps taking me to my files and getting me to download it and when i open that file it downloads itself again how do i fix that?
Hey! I have the mod installed but when I create a brand new world the mod doesn’t work very well. I put the LOD render distance to 256 and it just doesn’t work. But when I open a survival world (which I’ve had for awhile) it works fine. And sometimes I just see missing chunks in the world. Also when it does work and I travel a bit the chunks don’t load fast enough.
I followed these exact steps on a clean install of Better Adventures+, aaaaaand it didn't work. I let the world fully generate, I can see makes 2-3 chunks of lods in 1 direction, but there's a gap between the world end and the lods generating and that's it. Nothing else is happening, what did I do wrong :c
Turning off shaders does not fix the issue either, annoying thing is I got it working when this video originally came out but now it just doesn't like me. I'm using the exact same version of BA+ that flowstate uses in the video, and the exact files for DH and the fabric stuff
Hi flow! I see you are still replying to comments on this video, as a viewer I extremely appreciate that. ty for replys and thats why im writing this; i have a issue with downloading iris shader bc its says a error that called check your internet connection and its known bug for users i tried cmd command that writed in github but still appears same error, do u know fix?
EDIT: The issue came from the DistantHorizon config file! Deleting it fixes the crash Been messing with this for a few hours now 1- Bliss doesn't seem to like AMD gpu much sadly. I'm lucky if I get 30 fps and that's without using the modpack, so using the normal terrain generation (with the modpack, I couldn't even get half that) (Ryzen 5 5900X, an obnoxious amount of ram, RX 6700 XT) Comparing to the current version of DH using Complementary Reimagined (the DH port), I can get 70 fps as a reference. That same shader with a port to this version of DH would likely be a solid fix to the FPS problem 2- If you're thinking of testing this using the basic minecraft launcher by making a copy of your mods folder in case things go wrong (to easily swap back in your old files), that might still not be enough. I wanted to return to my old settings and now I crash whenever trying to load any world (worlds that I never loaded with the beta iris/DH files. I only tested on a single copy). Time to try and do a clean install I guess. Fuck around and find out as they say lmao
when i click to go to the server there is no distant horizons channel and also when i straight up go to the iris website and click on install it doesn't show me the option to add distant horizons with iris

My pc doesn't run this, but it's beautiful to see your concern for other people in playing the same way as you, thank you ❤
Is there any new tutorial on how to do this??
This tutorial is out of date, you can now install Distant Horizons 2.0+ directly on CurseForge
For me it just says incompatible mods and the game wornt start ( I think i got it working but not sure yet )
now it just says

2080ti came out almost 6 years ago, that's pretty outdated
now we need a tutorial on how to revive our pcs
for people seeing this now- they removed the option to install DH from that executable. Additionally, you may need to manually install Java for your PC if you're used to playing on bedrock. My PC didn't know what to do with the .jar file until I installed Java manually.
I cannot see the option for DH and i have installed java manually i think can u help?
Will you do more videos like "Making a ______ house with no plan"? I personally thought those were really great.
Yes I will soon
Thank you so much. I webt to bed at 2 am trying to get it working but now i can use it. And i do understand the beta and risks it has.
Much appreciated for the help with that, now just gotta figure out how to launch the damn installer 😂
Why everyone is using fabric for DH and not forge?
Disclaimer : Long render distance with shadders doesn't work for 1.19.4 version, there is no checkbox for this version. They should say it before letting people installing stuff.
This is a problem as most people don't play on the last version of the game.
This is becasue Iris considers 1.19 version of itself "dead", so DH compat is only for 1.20
(DH on the other hand actively supports all versions it was released to)
Is there hope to get a working 1.19 shader version later?@@cola98765
Just play the latest version I don't see the big deal
I dont see a checkbox for any version can u help?
Thanks dude, 650 comments and you're replying to all of them shows you really care.
Step 1: buy a nasa super computer,
step 2: profit
Bros trying to make my PC turn into a plane.
Just waiting for it to come to forge and I’ll be happy
Distant Horizons works on Forge
its still a shame that for some reason my computer just freezes distant horizons regardless of what i set it at. seeing these really gets me back into wanting to do world painter and mod packs but just would like to understand why my machine gets so stuttery
very well done tutorial btw im surprised someone hadnt already done it honestly
Yeah DH won't work on every system, I'm glad you liked the video though
i tried this on my m3 mac pro its awesome !!!
LETSSSS GOOOOOOOO Playing tonight!
I’ve been playing this with my nephews. My mod pack was built from yours with a bunch of custom structures and unique stuff to find ingame. My goal was to make Minecraft seem as unique and cool as possible for my nephews. We been playing together and have a blast.
That's awesome
This is absolutely crazy!!
Buying a 4090 to make Minecraft look dope is radical
This mod is revolutionary.
It keeps saying incompatible mods, I have the same modpack but it has different versions of sodium and iris that we delete
Make sure you've updated to the latest version of the modpack, that could be it.
@@flowstatevideo I just installed it for the first time, the sodium has a bunch of extra files like "reese's sodium options" "sodium-extra 0.5.1" and stuff like that.
Can we put Fabric with it too ? Cause at 1:55 u don't say if we can or not, I don't want it to be bugged or anything ! :(
Yes Fabric is required
Hey love the vids! Are you planning to update the modpack to modrinth as well, or maybe not because of mod developers porting the mods over?
Not sure, right now CurseForge works perfectly fine for the modpack
mod of the year
erm its not working i cant see over my chunk with the shader in the descriptions (and all other one i have)
At 2:47, what folder did you drag the mods to? was it the distant horizons mod folder?
Just mods folder
@@flowstatevideo I got it, thank you again!
4:54 do all the chunks within the DH render distance load automatically, or do you have to cross over that terrain to generate it?
Automatic in singleplayer, but you have to load them in multiplayer
how do you get the version of Minecraft to pop up on the launcher at 2:02? I have Iris downloaded but It didn't show up there.
It auto loads in singleplayer but not in mutliplayer
@@flowstatevideo makes sense but I didn’t expect to see it in even single player.
Its crazy how your views increased so much by minecraft btw love to philosophy❤❤❤❤
when i go to download universal jar it keeps taking me to my files and getting me to download it and when i open that file it downloads itself again how do i fix that?
I'm not sure when I open the .jar it just opens the installer
i have to downlaod it in my files @@flowstatevideo
did you ever find a fix?
@landon1136 sadly not I can't figure it out :(
@@quotes.fyp. just found it, download and run jarfix and that should do it
Favorite modpack Flow
Distant Horizons chunks can take a very long time to load, and 256 chunks is quite a lot. I'd just give it some time to load.
@@flowstatevideo alright thanks man
It says that there are incompatible mods found when i try to start it up
You downloaded the wrong mod version then, this tutorial shows you how to do it step by step
thanks for the W video!
It keeps telling me the mods are outdated for the game, I installed it and not Iris and it wont let me play still.
You're installing the wrong version of mods then for your game version
I followed these exact steps on a clean install of Better Adventures+, aaaaaand it didn't work. I let the world fully generate, I can see makes 2-3 chunks of lods in 1 direction, but there's a gap between the world end and the lods generating and that's it. Nothing else is happening, what did I do wrong :c
Turning off shaders does not fix the issue either, annoying thing is I got it working when this video originally came out but now it just doesn't like me. I'm using the exact same version of BA+ that flowstate uses in the video, and the exact files for DH and the fabric stuff
I'm not sure you might want to ask around in the DH discord, I'm no expert I just made this tutorial vid because it worked for me
Hi flow! I see you are still replying to comments on this video, as a viewer I extremely appreciate that.
I am new too PC/Java Minecraft and as many tutorials there are out there I haven’t found a single one really that is giving me the information that I need to download your famous modpack/shader/texture combo that broke MC RUclips a while back 😂(idk what it’s called I’m stupid) I was wondering if you were thinking about making an updated tutorial on this or if you know of a good place where a super PC noob like me could download and use this stuff in a easy to learn method 🤷♂️😆
Thanks man 😌👍
Everything I use is in Better Adventures+. You can install it on CurseForge / Modrinth
Great video thx for tutorial really apriciate it.
THANK YOU FOR THE TUTORIAL!!!
Which CPU are you running? I think my 3080 is fine but it's the mere i5-10500 that's making this mod unplayably laggy lol
to reduce stutters allocate more ram as they are most likely due to garbage collector (casue chunk generation makes a lot of garbage)
Description
@@cola98765 I've tried to do all that java optimization stuff but to no avail really. I'll upgrade to a 7600x at some point, we'll see how that changes things.
@@flowstatevideo Thanks, I should've realized to look.
THX bro i was struggling
"How to make minecraft look like this."
Step one: Have a nuclear core powered computer.
its actually eeven better than just vanilla performance tbh🤓🤓then just use performance things and boom huge fps vanilla
@@azimli52_kurnaz_ironi_anti-ilk Blunt lie but, you do you
@@FirestoneAnimation 😂lol not. nvidium, sodium, vulkan are so good that even if you add performance-degrading things, they will still be better than just vanilla and i already said u can just performance things its even better than anything
@@azimli52_kurnaz_ironi_anti-ilk Yeah tried Sodium. Barely got that much of a boost.
@@FirestoneAnimation :)👍
which mod makes the camera movement so delayed because whenever i move my character, the camera is really wierd and delayed

@@flowstatevideo thank you so much
Putting together a modpack for Ston3y and I and this popped up in my notifications. Mannnn DH looks so goooood

ty for replys and thats why im writing this; i have a issue with downloading iris shader bc its says a error that called check your internet connection and its known bug for users i tried cmd command that writed in github but still appears same error, do u know fix?
That's weird I haven't encountered that bug, sorry
@@flowstatevideo oh thats sad for me, whatever good days
Wonder if it'll work with the VR mod
Yeah I'm not sure
It might. Older versions of DH were working correctly with VR mods.
EDIT: The issue came from the DistantHorizon config file! Deleting it fixes the crash
Been messing with this for a few hours now
1- Bliss doesn't seem to like AMD gpu much sadly. I'm lucky if I get 30 fps and that's without using the modpack, so using the normal terrain generation (with the modpack, I couldn't even get half that) (Ryzen 5 5900X, an obnoxious amount of ram, RX 6700 XT)
Comparing to the current version of DH using Complementary Reimagined (the DH port), I can get 70 fps as a reference. That same shader with a port to this version of DH would likely be a solid fix to the FPS problem
2- If you're thinking of testing this using the basic minecraft launcher by making a copy of your mods folder in case things go wrong (to easily swap back in your old files), that might still not be enough. I wanted to return to my old settings and now I crash whenever trying to load any world (worlds that I never loaded with the beta iris/DH files. I only tested on a single copy).
Time to try and do a clean install I guess. Fuck around and find out as they say lmao
whats the mod that gets you the zoomed out third person
Camera Utils
when i click to go to the server there is no distant horizons channel and also when i straight up go to the iris website and click on install it doesn't show me the option to add distant horizons with iris
This tutorial is out of date, you can now install Distant Horizons 2.0+ directly on CurseForge
Flowstate can I use your better adventures mod in a video?
Of course
Why you dont tell the Version of Better Adventures+ ?
In v1.16 is not working and less mods inside.
v1.16 should be working, it works fine for me
does anyone know the name of the mod used for the orbit/free cam at 4:57?
Camera Utils
Thanks for the tutorial
Sure thing
I have used iris many times but never with DH, the option to use DH Beta is greyed out not letting me click it.
I think they've changed the behavior of the installer since I made this tutorial
