We are finishing a review before starting our next school term. We homeschool year round and are excited for more life learning. We take breaks as needed with our homesteading lifestyle so we learn year round. It seems to work better for one of my children who needs consistency. That awesome that you are waiting for our Lord to guide you to the right curriculum. He knows better than all of us. Praise Him! Many blessings, Linda
We spend our summer swimming, participating in the local homeschool cross country/track summer running program and showing animals at the county fair! Do you worry about your son missing out on the critical review if you skip the first 30 lessons? Abeka has review for that part too but I have found over the years it’s necessary for my children to do, even if it’s easy… the easy stuff builds confidence for the year and the review helps them to concrete some of those basic concepts for higher level math.
We are taking all of June off to have summer with Grandparents out of state. I admit it feels super odd not doing any school work but they are having a blast! When we get back home in July we will pick up doing some school work. Nothing heavy just a few things so they can still relax and have time to do some fun summer things!
We always take the summer off, but I usually have some sort of plan for summer learning. A stack of new books for the kids, chore lists, fun workbooks, etc. But this year I’ve planned nothing!! Watching everyone else’s summer plans, and maybe that will motivate me to get something in place 😀
awesome video. We are slowly finishing things too. We will start "new" things July 10th, 1 subject a week, a slow start. We break in October for a week and then we break again Thanksgiving - January 2nd/3rd. We do light "Christmas" school with math during December. I hope you enjoyed some swimming time and relaxation. See you next time! Celebrate the Summer.
Thank you for posting & sharing. 2nd year homeschooling mother of 3 (a soon to be second grader, preK, and a 3 year old). This is exactly what I needed to hear. ❤ when do you plan to start back to school in August?
I am so glad! ❤ We usually start early/mid August! I'm thinking Aug 7th this year although that will be Zoe's birthday (perfect excuse to make our first day fun!)
Hey! We homeschool year round, we took the last 6 weeks off and we start back next week. I’m excited to start first grade and pre-k with my kiddos. Honestly it’s so hot and muggy outside I’m glad to stay inside to do school, especially as I’m 9 months pregnant 😂
Good morning, Mamas! ☕️ I hope you enjoy today's video! What are your summer plans? Do you school year round?
