Thanks for sharing your flight and Taco Tuesday 😂 How do you like the 300 hp in your 182 ? I am looking on buying an airplane that will probably need an engine soon and I was thinking at an STC to 300hp .... just wanted your thoughts sir
My plane is actually a 230 hp 182Q, this was my friends plane. I’ve heard the conversion is near $100,000, and in my mind there wasn’t enough performance difference to justify that kind of money. We are in Florida, so maybe I never really got to feel the horsepower where it matters, which might be at higher altitudes. So if you live at 6000 feet and need to takeoff at those kinds of attitudes, maybe it makes a difference. But I didn’t notice much difference at sea level.
