    With all due respect to the M249 SAW, I think the Negev would make an AWESOME replacement in American Services. Perhaps the Rangers or the SEAL's should try it out, they could use a lighter LMG than the MK 46 and MK 48.

    When I was in the Mexican Army tested the HK 21 I thought the platform would be more complex but I liked, how to change the barrel; but when I tested IWI Negev I say: Oh sweet lord!.. thanks!.. I tested, thanks to a friend of the federal police and wow!.. It´s lighter, less rough than the m60 and m249; and the recoil is gentler, when use any optic example: aimpoint or eotech, really you don´t close your eyes so abruptly, in my humble opinion I consider it an intelligent tool... long life to IWI and the brothers of Israel!

      Patjersey3000 well, to each his own, but you don’t think the inability to properly zero due to one mode of fire, the obviously inferior barrel locking mechanism, the gas regulator that requires partial disassembly, and usually a mallet to adjust, the non-fixed optics mount, or the extra 10+ pounds of unnecessary weight wouldn’t at least tempt you to ditch the 240 for something that clearly took the lessons learn from antiquated belt fed designs and fixed the problems? As for me, I’m about fed up with fighting with stuck hot barrels, spray and pray aiming, and lugging around that boat anchor.

    We used the FN Mini 5.56 in Afghanistan but the British Army have got rid of these weapons at section level now and have gone a different way because of lessons learnt in Afghanistan they were finding that a lot of the time they were being engaged at longer ranges than the effective range of the weapon. So they started adding the Sharps Rifle L129A1, and kept the GPMG. The reason behind it was to keep accurate and long range fire so they started doing sharpshooter courses I believe (not the same as sniper courses.) so the L129A1 has become the replacement for the LSW role in the British Army infantry section.

    Why should police have these? If they cant even get the las vegas investigation right?

    • @GeistDrachen
      @GeistDrachen 7 лет назад +15

      911LexVegas here's my biggest complaint about the Vegas shooting: they claimed to have found around 20 guns but we only saw two, both being ar 15s. I know damn well that ar 15s with a bump fire stock shoots 800 rpm, the rpm of the gun the shooter was using was 600. That has to be a belt fed machine gun, there's no way that's an ar 1, it might be an ak, but considering the recoil of it with a bump fire stock I'm not sure.

    • @matthewpham9525
      @matthewpham9525 7 лет назад +6

      Bump fire stock recoil can vary by quite a bit, it all depends on the shooter.

    • @GeistDrachen
      @GeistDrachen 7 лет назад +4

      Matthew Pham exactly, I'm saying that the Vegas shooter had to have used a machine gun because its fire rate was slower and it would have been less accurate with a bump fire stock if it was a rifle with one.

    • @matthewpham9525
      @matthewpham9525 7 лет назад +5

      The fire rate varied throughout the shooting, machine guns for the most part don't change ROF. I'm still pretty sure it was a bump fire stock.

    A couple of notes:
    NOT reloaded friendly. Saw some SERIOUSLY mangled brass being extracted and tossed to the side.
    To trade from belt to mag fed the cyclic rate can be reduced to compensate for slower mag follower presentation of the next round. If swapped to slower rate to accommodate a magazine, is there any issue if you return back to belt-fed other than, maybe, a slower rate of fire?
    What EXCELLENT weapons systems and I'd expect NOTHING less from IWI!
    IF they made ALL the various weapons platforms I like and already own, they'd become my singular weapons manufacturer, FA or S.A., BAR NONE!
    Does that qualify me as a "Fan Boy?"
    Why, HE'LL YES!!
    And unashamedly so, too.

    Mr. Vickers, thank you for your video's and service to our GREAT Nation!

    On an open bolt gun I believe the first lighter stage of the trigger should be single or semi auto capable. But then a fully depressed trigger squeeze would enable full auto fire. Does anyone know of a gun that has something like this? I would think it would have some definite advantages

      Anchor Bait the p90 has a version of this IV8888 did a video on it a few years ago and just touched on it briefly. When the selector is put in auto a half pull of the trigger results in semi auto fire and a full pull dumps the mag
