That's not the full sketch it's cut down there is one more kitchen trip missing and looses a lot of. Such a shame you didn't get to see the whole thing.
Oh no. Was just about to watch it but shan't bother now I know that they haven't watched the full clip. Not Nick and Jodie's fault in any way, but such a shame!
There is an entire subculture of Brits who, when ordering at a restaurant, will say “Two soups!” to a young waiter/waitress who has no idea why you are laughing
Celia Imrie and Duncan Preston (the diners) were so close to corpsing that towards the end of the sketch (which is not here as this is only the first couple of minutes), they avoided looking at each other just to get through it.
I own a coffee shop, and if anybody orders two soups, it usually ends up with us all laughing! This sketch goes on a bit longer, and when they leave, she calls them 'bastards' for not leaving a tip!
You have to do Acorn antiques 😂. Absolutely hilarious sketch from the Victoria Wood show. It takes the pee out of old 70s soaps with wobbly sets etc 😂. Victoria Wood and Julie Walter's were brilliant together. Victoria plays some fantastic characters. Try her aerobics teachers😂
Of course it was great, but I'm not sure it would go across so well to anyone who hadn't seen the "real life" soap _Crossroads_ , which it was surely inspired by?
When Victoria Wood wrote this sketch the Producer of her show was in complete disbelief - she had to almost force it through and tell him that it's one of the funniest things she'd ever written. It's comedy legend status in the UK - you just have to say "Two Soups" and people will immediately start to laugh, or imitate the Julie Walters character (the waitress).
The wonderful Julie Walters, written by Victoria Wood. You should watch the Fitness Sketch. This sketch was cut short. Victoria Wood gave the best lines to everyone else she wasn’t in this sketch.
Absolutely superb, never fails to make me laugh..I remember seeing it when it was first broadcast.still laughing…thought it was longer though..uniquely British
@@BoringReviews Such a shame! Not your fault, Nick and Jodie, but was really looking forward to your unadulterated reaction to this. Still, not to worry: there are PLENTY more Victoria Wood sketches to devour. Please watch "Let's Do It - The Ballad of Barry and Freda".
You should watch more of Victoria Wood as she was a fantastic comedian, She did some great songs as well. The waitress is Julie Walters (Harry Potter) and appeared with Victoria Wood loads of times. Victoria wrote this and most of the other sketches she does.
Julie Walters was a genius at playing old crones - she had no vanity so didn't mind playing a slightly grotesque character ( Petulia in Dinnerladies ) ..... she was probably only in her 20's when she played this sketch. 😄🤣
In case your wondering who the waitress is it's Julie Walters you'll def remember her as Ron weasleys mum in Harry Potter films bloody brilliant in everything she does xxx
The waitress was the Wonderful Julie Walters (Educating Rita, Harry Potter, etc) who often worked with Victoria Wood, they both started out in Drama school together and were great friends. 8-)
Watch Victoria Woods in her Fitness class and the step aerobics sketch...so funny! She was a good dramatic actress too. Julie Walters is excellent, anything from Educating Rita to Mama Mia.
The sketch was written by Victoria Wood. The waitress is Julie Walters (Harry Potter's Mrs Weasley). Wood & Walters were a double act. The original sketch was much longer. Look out for Dinner ladies a very funny comedy show
Pease react to Pete and Bas Action Man . Two rappers in their 70's that havre been big in the UK for a few years now. You wont be disapointed. Channels that have reacted to them have grown massively.
I love Victoria Wood, she was a total genius and much missed.. but her brand of humour was so strongly rooted in British culture that I don't know how well it would translate. Vertainly the more wordy sketches. Two Soups is so wonderfully visual so maybe more likely to appeal to a broader audience.
For many this wouldn't hold up well in our PC culture today! My favourite is Victoria Wood's series "Dinnerladies", but I think it would be too hard to react to.
As well as being an excellent deliverer of humour, she also wrote brilliant comedy. It is a different style to much of today's comedy, a 'softer' style, and often harking back to a slightly bygone age. In her own performances, there was a certain amount of pathos in the characters she created for herself. She certainly didn't hog all of the best lines for herself. 'Acorn Antiques' is a series of sketches that might elude you, because it is a parody of an early evening soap opera here, that became famous for its wooden characters - and cardboard scenery, that wobbled. I'm sure there's some US comparison you can substitute.
This isn't true; I assume you're talking about Julie Walters' character. The waitress appears only in this sketch. The audience begins laughing purely because of Julie's physical humour in approaching the table. You might be getting confused with Mrs Overall, an elderly character Julie Walters plays in the Acorn Antiques sketches.

The wonderful Oscar-nominated, multi Bafta-winning, Julie Walters.
Julie Walters was a GEM of an actor, these two together were hillarious.
@ianwilkinson4602 IS a wonderful actress not WAS..
All of them in this sketch are wonderful.
In the full sketch they call her back to point out that the bowls are empty and she says, "Finished already!"
'You must have been quite peckish' too
Her ending line: "No tip? Bastards!"
There is an entire subculture of Brits who, when ordering at a restaurant, will say “Two soups!” to a young waiter/waitress who has no idea why you are laughing
Or you’ve overfilled a bowl or mug at home and it splashes over the top, someone is bound to say ‘two soups!’
Celia Imrie and Duncan Preston (the diners) were so close to corpsing that towards the end of the sketch (which is not here as this is only the first couple of minutes), they avoided looking at each other just to get through it.

@leohickey4953 definitely crossroads 😂

You only saw part of it , whoever put that on RUclips cut it off early .
Watch "Victoria Wood" Song, 'Freeda and Barry'. So funny....😂😂
The balled of Frieda and Barry.
In case you hadn’t noticed the waitress is Ron Weasley‘s mum!
And the lady she's serving is Connor McLeod's girlfriend turned Naboo fighter pilot!
The wonderful Julie Walters, written by Victoria Wood. You should watch the Fitness Sketch. This sketch was cut short. Victoria Wood gave the best lines to everyone else she wasn’t in this sketch.
Mrs Overall on fhat leotard and the orhwrs squished on the sofa tigether trying not to giggle 🤣🤣🤣
Marvellous stuff
That wasn’t the whole sketch! That finished way before the end. Try and find the complete sketch if you can. It’s so much funnier
One of the best sketches ever
Turned into a classic catch phrase ,we all still often say ,,,2 soups in uk
What a memorable sketch
I always think of this whenever someone says “ two soups” but it was a lot longer originally.
The wonderful Julie Walters .
Absolutely superb, never fails to make me laugh..I remember seeing it when it was first broadcast.still laughing…thought it was longer though..uniquely British
Wait, the sketch isn't finished. It goes on for longer than that.
Noooooo

Try "Fisherman's friends", it's a sweet from UK. You'll either love them or hate them, they are made in Fleetwood, NW of England. x
Its a lozenge great for stopping coughing. Used them when daughter was a Chorister and the cold Cathedral would start me off, life saver.
Julie Walters was a genius at playing old crones - she had no vanity so didn't mind playing a slightly grotesque character ( Petulia in Dinnerladies ) ..... she was probably only in her 20's when she played this sketch. 😄🤣
Mrs Overall strikes
Marmite mixed in tomato soup is next level 😊😊
Great tee-shirt! The Ultimate Warrior was my favourite :)
This is one of the greatest sketches ever
The waitress in the incomplete sketch is Molly Weasley from the Harry Potter films.
Pure gold.....❤❤
If you want to see Victoria Wood at her best try the Ballad of Barry and Freda, the Audience with… version
In case your wondering who the waitress is it's Julie Walters you'll def remember her as Ron weasleys mum in Harry Potter films bloody brilliant in everything she does xxx

Nick, you were a server!!!
Oh I'm so glad you managed to get out of the IT's internet industry! :D
Cheers guys!
I was once served by a lady with her arm in a sling and a neck brace. I instantly remembered this .
Watch Victoria Woods in her Fitness class and the step aerobics sketch...so funny! She was a good dramatic actress too. Julie Walters is excellent, anything from Educating Rita to Mama Mia.
The waitress is Dame Julie Walters, she was also the mother of Ronald Weasley in Harry Potter.
The sketch was written by Victoria Wood. The waitress is Julie Walters (Harry Potter's Mrs Weasley). Wood & Walters were a double act. The original sketch was much longer. Look out for Dinner ladies a very funny comedy show
Where's the rest of it???
I remember this. One of the funniest sketches but it's not finished here.
I once heard the actors in an interview talking about it, apparently it was a true story.
Pease react to Pete and Bas Action Man . Two rappers in their 70's that havre been big in the UK for a few years now. You wont be disapointed. Channels that have reacted to them have grown massively.
A sketch that has gone down in comedy history
Only half a sketch there, sadly.
Also, the female customer was Celia Imrie, star of so many period dramas (and brilliant actress).
I love Victoria Wood, she was a total genius and much missed.. but her brand of humour was so strongly rooted in British culture that I don't know how well it would translate. Vertainly the more wordy sketches. Two Soups is so wonderfully visual so maybe more likely to appeal to a broader audience.
Unfortunately, I have seen waitresses like that in the USA, where some people work until they drop.
They have to. They're still paying off their student loans.
i'm trying to perfect that walk love it
For many this wouldn't hold up well in our PC culture today! My favourite is Victoria Wood's series "Dinnerladies", but I think it would be too hard to react to.
If you're to going watch a class British sketch, please watch the whole thing.
Absolute Classic
Awwww only half the sketch

Julie Walters is a national treasure
Full version you need
Try to find the longer version. They cut the start and the last part which was the whole point of the sketch.
You might like to try Victoria Wood's TV series "Dinner Ladies".
You need to see the whole sketch that's a cut version.
"No-one walks like that." Americans are so literal.
As a waiter don't put your thumb in a bowl of soup when serving up.
My thump has never been in a bowl of soup.
Julie Walters was always the best thing in any of Vic's stuff.
Victoria Wood not in the sketch, but it was her show
It was clipped badly anx wasnt the whole thing....Acorn antiques with Victoria Wood and Julie Walters is hysterical...
You missed the ending of this
One of Victoria‘s best sketches and she’s not even in it. Shame that was heavily edited.
Why did you not show the whole sketch? Shame.
It's only half the sketch, what a shame
Missing the end of the sketch...
Always two soups..... Try Victoria Wood waitress sketch 'can you point to it?.....'
“Is it on trolley?………” 🤣🤣
Did you recognise her from Harry Potter…?? Mrs Weasley
That wasn't the full sketch..
Because the video was so faded it was difficult to see why you reacted the way you did at 4:30
Great post....yet Wrestle Mania....really...
How do you not love Wrestle-mania especially back then. Now 7 isn’t one of my faves but still. It is just a ten dollar shirt from Walmart afterall
Love julie Walters
Who’s suggestions are you listening to lmao
THIS IS A CHARACTER WHO APPEARS EVERY WEEK, THE AUDIENCES KNOWS WHAT TO EXPECT, THATS WHY THEYRE LAUGHING AS SOON A THEY SEE HER.

‘Check it out’?
Half a sketch here, guys!! ☹️
Been a subscriber sin 2000 subs, but can't watch you guys now you voted for Diddy's mates. We ain't the same, you and I....
Too short
Victoria is deadwood now.
Julie Walters was a genius at playing old crones - she had no vanity so didn't mind playing a slightly grotesque character ( Petulia in Dinnerladies ) ..... she was probably only in her 20's when she played this sketch. 😄🤣
