- A Day To Remember - Mr Highway's Thinking About The End drum cover. Hey everybody! I'm sorry that I haven't uploaded much in the last 3 weeks; I've been really busy with school and work and I just haven't had time to record a video. Having said that, I am really happy with the outcome of this cover and am super excited to record more in the future.
This song is classic ADTR hit; everything is massively intense and the breakdown is just sick. I really enjoyed fooling around at the end with some linear fills and double bass tricks. I had a ton of fun with this song. Audio recorded using my Presonus Studiolive 16.0.2 mixer and edited on Garageband. Video captured using 2 different camera angles and edited on iMovie. Thanks for watching, like and subscribe! - Видеоклипы
those ghost notes in the breakdown were so cool man
I love ghost notes in metal grooves, thanks!
Norman Clark I was just gonna say the same thing
what's cool is doing them at the top of the breakdown pattern and not in the second part, really serves to break up and distinguish the two sections, excellent addition
Real talk! 🔥
10 years later and I still come back to watch😂
Such an amazing cover. I was surprised this video is still up
I saw that accidental crash cymbal at the "ting" part in the breakdown
finally someone else who plays the hi-hat with an open position
To what extent do you like to disrespect your surroundings?
Michael Morris to the fullest extent possible
youtube is such an amazing thing when we have people like you
Crazy good
this is great! 🤩
2:30
love it!
Loosen up trust me it's even more fun
You nailed it
Genius cover man. I like your ambidextrous style
Perfect! :D
Tight playing man. Awesome stuff.
kerenn batt ajg
perfect
Nice cover.
nice
excelente el final mi bueno !¡
Your toms sound really good man
dope asf
can you explain me how you make the hi-hats sound like that 3:18 ? I've got an electric drumset, but I'm buying an acoustic one in a few months and I know how to do that :D
I basically press down on the high-hat pedal just hard enough to keep the cymbals closed, while still keeping the pressure light enough to give it that open feel. If you mess around with it for awhile I'm sure you'll get it :D
***** thank you :D
Wow! Nice play dude, I'm also practicing this song but it's damn hard. We'll done!!
And ending was fun too 😆
snare sounds awesome
+Dustin Ledbetter Thanks!
One more thing which mixer do you use? And how many mikes are you using? Please Thanks
Can you make sleeping with sirens cover?? please... and your drumming skills is so awesome
beautiful cover, man!!! what mic set you use?
Dude Ive been watching your covers for a while now. YOU are amazing! Im also a drummer. Can you tell me which double bass pedal do you use? And which one would you suggest to buy. Im a bit low on budget so plz
I use Iron Cobra foot pedals
what mics are you using great vid btw
Thanks! I'm using an Audix FP7 Fusion Series Mic Pack
Will you make a midi or synthesizer instrumental and play with that?
advice from one drummer to another try not to stiffen up you seem to be stiff when you're playing being drummer means being loose if you stiffen up your beats will be stiff
Great advice, thanks!
fucking dope
Where did you find the drumless track?
You should try St. James by Avenged Sevenfold. You'll have a lot of fun with that one :)
That China thou
What kind of heads do you use?
I use Remo Pinstripe coated heads for my toms and a Remo White Suede head for my snare
What China cymbal is that ?
Could use a little more energy and power. Relax on the double bass bits, so you don't crush everything together. Also recommend crossover method for hh and snare. Otherwise good.
Cover some foo fighters songs
Great work on the drumming!
But, I feel like your kit is tuned to high for this style music, it sounds kinda wimpy.
Tune it lower and you'll see more of an aggressive and suitable sound.
Awesome cover but smash the shit out of that kit man!
Too*
Dude looks like you might need a new china lol
agreed
***** Check out the Chad Smith Holy China!
Ya that ones a good one love the sound of it
dude I like it but hskanajdksnahdjsna that looks so, not right, the gripping, I'm sorry I'm in drumline and they always complain about gripping
joeday94 saaaaaaaaame lol. my school used to do the breakdown for my life for hire as a cadence. sadly nobody really knew what it was from
