"They need to be Americanized in time." The fact that the audience doesn't understand that this is a joke makes it so much more brilliant.
They're American, what do you expect?
@@kushdubey1111 yup
Haha that was such an obvious jab against americans, but they didn´t get it. Priceless aha
Legend has it that this is what he did on his audition for Inglorious Bastards.
I love how nobody laughed at "They need to be americanized in time!"
He can't believe nobody got it :D
What did he mean by that ? Lol I didn't get it
+Nancy from Montclair American culture has spread worldwide with Hollywood and brands etc, it's called cultural imperialism in media. Other nations cultures get replaced by American slowly basically haha
What was there to catch??
+CosmicLight Yes, youre right. 我不喜欢美国媒体。现在每个地方都有美国的影响了。
I can tell you. "Americanized" in Austria would mean to subdue to entertainment and commercialisation and to become superficially friendly It is a way to see American culture. But AC is more than that. Knowing Waltz as an Austrian Actor and now an Austrian-American Actor I would say it was a joke in both direction: Makin fun of - sometimes - superficial American culture and - at the same time - at Europeans to be so arrogant to not see other aspects about American culture.
Chris Waltz is a blessing to this earth.
Dr. King Schultz... how freaking awesome was that character! Put a director like Quentin Tarantino in with an actor as extraordinary as Christoph Waltz, and half the time you're going to get pure gold. I don't even know whether I should consider Django or Dr. Schultz the main character!
Brian Klock Django who? Dr. Schultz? All I could see was my beloved Christoph. :)
The audience laughs off his interpretation, but they shouldn't. It's quite brilliant.
If you look at the lyrics to the "Sesame Street" theme, they really are "haunting", as Waltz says. They're basically asking to get to a place full of sunny days and friendly faces, a place to play where everything's "a-okay" . . . and yet, it never says in the song where exactly this place is.
If you think about it, metaphorically, we're all still trying to "get to Sesame Street".
Well Say you absolutely RIGHT
you are sooo right sir!
a place we seek but few will actually find one.
I think their awareness of that depth, coupled with the knowledge that it's just a kid's show theme song -- is why they're laughing. It's why I laughed.
Ah, okay. I thought they were laughing like, "Why is he taking 'Sesame Street' so seriously? It's just a kids' show." But I like your theory; it makes sense,
He was actualliy almost crying!!!
What a fantastic actor!!! And what a great sense of humor!!
I love how noone in the audience got his sarcastic remark about americanizing his kids as soon as possible( 0:22). just shows how subtle and intelligent his humour is.
Grüsse
@@flamingchinchilla3583 Sorry but your comment also shows that you don't understand sarcasm. It's not about accent at all.
Subtle Humor and ironizing oneself is European, but something Americans don't understand. The sense of Humor is the greatest difference between the USA and Europe.
Audiences are directed. They are told when to clap or react in a certain way.
@@schusterlehrling Are you American?
Made himself tear up right there on the spot. fucking incredible.
this man is amazing, what a great actor!
I watch Sesamstrasse with my daughter, here in Germany. The theme song actually says to ask questions or you'll stay dumb, lol. Less sunny than the American Sesame Street song I grew up with.
How do i count to 5 in German?
Cómo cuento a cinco en alemán?
Brian Klock Eins, zwei, drei, vier, funf
Boobalopbop aye que bueno! uno dos tres cuatro cinco !
Eins, zwei, drei, vier, fünf !
Sesamstrasse !
Now I feel a little bit like a Dr. King Schultz
Loose translation of the German intro would be: Who, How, What... he, she, it (it would be the female article, the male article and the factual article - but the, the, the sounds silly) why, why so, wherefore, who doesn't asks stays dumb. Thousands of cool things are to be seen everywhere, sometimes you got to ask to understand them.
Fünf*
It is actually quite depressing it's about the search for happiness and never finding it.
Really wish he was in hateful 8!
Great actor.
YES me to he would have played a better hang man than that other guy I thought I was the only one who though that
+Jake Torrance I think he meant Kurt Russell's role, John "The Hangman" Ruth
+Jake Torrance Or i just might be stupid
he was actually considered for the mexican(?) part, but didnt pick up the role bc of scheduling errors
He would've been great for Oswaldo Mobruy but Tim Roth was okay, too.
I am sure he is a lovely person to get to know, but like Clint Eastwood, I would be terrified to even annoy him.
I just laughed so hard reading this. Lol
I would pay to watch Christopher Waltz sing that on Sesame Street with pouring rain drizzling down as he holds Elmos hand walking off into the distance.
+Zach Obad-Mathis Either that, or they're holding guns on each other.
thats why he has an oscar
donnias123 he has 2
@@acciodalek nice
Can't help but feel this man is wasted on an American audience..
agree lol
As an American, I totally agree
He isn't. Get off your high horse.
Kody Eldridge

Christoph Waltz's haunting Sesame Street song...
My favorite actor!
He is so cool
Jimmy Kimmel Live my dream is will be how him idol by far
+Chris Rosting (Broncos87) I smell Google Translate.
+Jimmy Kimmel Live Just put how old Sesame Street is into perspective, Sesame Street was around when Christopher Waltz was a kid... I think. It was definitely around by the time he was in his teens.
Christoph Waltz is such a gorgeous man
+Phoenix Down I do agree, sehr sehr schön !
***** finally someone who accepts me for who I am
+Phoenix Down hell yeah he is
+Phoenix Down you know .... I didn't write what I really think about him 'cause I was afraid no one feels the way I do . but deep down what I wanted to say was that he's :
EXTREMELY !! sexy , handsome , cute , talented , humble , polite , hilarious , kind , classy , intelligent , charming , SUCH a gentleman and SUCH a deep thinker ... (I can go on forever ya know)
I just love and respect him SOO much ^_^
Oh my god and I thought that Iam only one who has huge crush on him!😍
One of my favorite actors of all time!
I have a crush on Christoph
Christoph Waltz, a man who can make you cry just by reciting the theme to Sesame Street.
He really needed that hug.
Have you ever imagined a film with Christoph Watlz, Daniel Day-Lewis, Cate Blanchett and Meryl Streep? Scorsese/Tarantino directing?
Stop teasing me!
That would be godlike.
Tarantino writing and Scorsese directing, and maybe robert de niro or joe pesci could make an appearance.
Tyler Durden
With a tint of Kubrick and Hitchcock.
Lions4322 Sure, why not? :)
His portrayal as Dr King Schultz in Django was astonishing.
Christoph, Du bist einfach der BESTE! :-)
+GeekingJay oder JA WOHL :D
Aber Selbstverständlich! :D
Oh, God, I'm dying. I think I love this creepy man.
why do you find him to be creepy???
He is awesome!
Did he just cry while dramatically reciting a tragedy themed version of sesame street? ._. He is brilliant. I want him as a professor, right away.
Such a brilliant actor.
This man is an absolute legend.
I watched Sesame Street until I was 14. Thank you, Christoph, for very unique delivery of the theme song and for your sheer brilliance as Blofeld.
quentin tarantino's next movie sesame street
Could definitely see a heist film, or a revenge film with elmo lol
He is one of my favourite actors
Was waiting for someone to bring him a Glass of Milk!!
He need some milk
Red du doch was anderes.
Glass of delicious milk.
I was waiting for him to become his own bartender
Christoph is pure gold such a RAD dude
He's such a gifted actor lol I love him
Christoph Waltz is just perfect. Amazing actor, amazing man. And he's so handsome! How can he do that?!
He is fantastic, I really appreciate excellent actors who don't take themselves too seriously. This was brilliant!
I like his way to see the world. He speaks about the things in a absolutly honest way, not afraid to say it how it really is.
Rip this man is 3 times my age and I think I'm in love
BLOODY HELL, I did NOT expect Sesame Street song to go that way. He is AMAZING!
Haha! He had actually tears in his eyes! Fantastisches Schauspiel geehrter Herr Waltz!
Wer? Wie? Was? Der! Die! Das! Wieso? Weshalb? Warum? Wer nicht fragt bleibt dumm! Tausend tolle Sachen, die gibt es überall zu seh'n. Manchmal muss man fragen, um sie zu versteh'n. :)
I almost cried but smiled at the same time
He actually made himself tear up singing sesame street lmao
the german theme song is also pretty deep ,
Der, die, das, ( That one , that thing , that )
wer, wie, was, ( who , how , what )
wieso, weshalb, warum, ( why that way , to what end , for what )
wer nicht fragt, bleibt dumm.( who does not ask, stays unknowing* ( *or stupid but that would be rude ) )X2
Tausend tolle Sachen, ( a thousand cool and interesting things)
die gibt es überall zu seh'n, ( those can be seen everywhere)
manchmal muss man fragen, ( often one must ask questions)
um sie zu versteh'n. ( in order to comprehend them)
Der, die, das, ( That one , that thing , that )
wer, wie, was, ( who , how , what )
wieso, weshalb, warum, ( why that way , to what end , for what )
wer nicht fragt, bleibt dumm.( who does not ask, stays unknowing* )
Oscar winner for a reason. Gold.
fuck!i almost cry,what a fantastic actor
My god I love him! His personality is just precious
This guy is absolutely brilliant. One of my favorite actors.
Christoph Waltz! My Favorite actor!

This guy is so talented..incredible actor!
My favourite actor. He's a master. I love him.
I just want to hug him and give him a map!
GIVE THE MAN AN OSCAR!!!!!
Another one? Haha. I agree, great actor.
This is one of the greatest things I've ever seen.
He's such a good actor that I didn't even realize at first that he was setting up for a skit. Usually in these kinds of situations it's obvious but... I really believed he still watched it and thought it was deep lmao
Tausend tolle Sachen die gibt es überall zu sehn~
I love him so much
He should do the South Park theme.
I bet it would even end up in an episode!
Christoph Waltz is one of my favorite actors.
Pissing Myself 🤣 OMG this Man is sooooooooooo Beautiful 😍❤
Christopher Waltz turned it into an emotion that an adult wishes so dearly to go back to their age of innocence and love from his family . that adult might be living in any big city chasing his/her dreams living amongst heartless and greedy mob.
Is that tears in his eyes? My God give him an honorary life Oscar.😢😂
OMG, he made me cried.
His voice.
Such a brilliant actor
Mr Rodgers should be his next gig. We loved mr Rogers and my kids passed on stress me street.😀
Damn that was intense I felt bad for the guy I wanted him to find Sesame Street
amazing actor with stunning performance.
this guy is the best
Love you Christophe Waltz!!!
I actually liked Christoph's performance in Horrible bosses 2, it's one of his best actings ever. Without Tarantino, he won't be the actor, which we all know by his terrific performances.
Omgosh that song is haunting
And that's why he's one of my favorite actors.
Christpoh is a gift from god.. Ty goddd
I was laughing, crying and having chills at the same time.
I think this is one of the finest description what sesame's street is, because until this day I never have found a street so fun as sesame street, and I really really desperately want to know how to get to sesame street.
I like him. I watch Sesamestreet too, sometimes, when I'm working busy and want some distraction. The happy music is nice, the kids that are in the show and their behaviours are interesting to observe (I've studied Pedagogic work) and it gives me ideas to use at the daycare.
One of the best actors around! 👍
THAT was flawless
He should have done this done in German too!
It would be strange tbqh
Would loved to see Waltz give this monologue just before he choked Diane Kruger in Inglorious Basterds. "Can you tell me, my dear--how exactly does one find this 'Sesame Street'?"
This man has two Academy Awards under his belt.....
He's absolutely adorable.
He’s amazing
Omg how i love this man!!!!😍😍😍
I love Christoph Waltz!
LOL!! Greatest actor, ever!!
holy shit he teared up..........that was impressive
My favorite actor.
#1
Respect.
Why is he literally in tears
This was the funniest thing to happen to television last night.
Amazing actor
Wow with tears in the eyes. Well done
This - is - one - epic - PERFORMANCE!!!
Christoph is.. THE MAN
Man, watching his interview I start to ask myself how much of Landa is creation of Tarantino and how much is creation from Waltz himself. What a great and sarcastic actor.
