most of malatang in western country are different from malatang in Tianshui. Diffident regions in China have different flavor of malatang. Like yangguofu or zhangliang, they both represent NorthEast (of China )version. Not Tianshui version.
Hey Amy ! I have been a fan for over four years now and since I am early wanted to say how much joy your videos bring me! I hope to visit china sometime soon!
The guagua looks so interesting and delicious, but I would come to that place just for that sweet lady! 😊 She was clearly so knowledgeable and proud of her craft!
There is so many of these that have opened up in Paris. I’m loving it! Malatang is the best way to enjoy hot pot flavors while solo eating, personally.
CNN and BBC said: China has no human rights and freedoms. The streets are full of CCTV. Be careful that the Communist Party arrests tourists for no reason. Western media also say that Chinese people love to eat dog meat and bat meat , Be careful if you eat it without knowing it
The second I saw that steamed bread I knew Amy would either use the Gua Gua as topping or dip the bread into the sauce 😂 fun fact: most almond teas are not made with almond but with Apricot kernels (南杏and北杏),that's where that marzipan flavour comes from 😊
just wanted to pop on here to tell you how much i love your content!! i feel like there's no other channel like yours, your content is so entertaining, educational, i love your personality, your insights and interactions with the locals and your Chinese is soo good
we have malatang here in LA too. its now spread all over the world I love the portion control and ability to choose your own exactly what you want to eat
You have really influenced me to try so many new foods the past month. Your adventurous spirit and love of food reminds me of Andrew Zimmern and Anthony Bourdain.
OMG welcome to Tianshui Amy! I’ve been following you on bilibili for like at least 3 years. And I’m so happy to see you visit my hometown! Hope you have enjoyed the adventure and welcome everyone else also. There are excellent food and amazing attractions waiting for you.
Ok - first - I love your videos! I really wanted to come on your trip this year but couldn’t work it out this time 😢 maybe next tines!! Second - I normally never leave comments BUT I just saw a video about a place called : Shu Fu Banquet, “a Chinese royal banquet experience” and instantly wondered what you’d say if you experienced it! Have you been? Would you ever go? If it’s interesting to you, I’d be keen to see you try it and hear about your experience!!! (I’m a big history buff and love watching Chinese historical dramas, so I added it to my “visit China” bucket list, but would love a knowledgeable perspective into whether or not it’s worth it!) Thank you for all the great content!!
I am so thrilled that I stumbled onto your channel.. It is truly amazing.. When you said, "guagua" I thought of Mexican word for Woof Woof or Bark bark is "guau guau ' which is child usage for puppy.. I don't care for extreme heat in food. I like your descriptions, but chili oil is hot. Your ability to read And Speak Chinese is fabulous. Thanks for taking us on your adventures..
Go Amy! Ur vlog is getting more interesting..love em all.. greeting from Indonesia.. u have such a very positive energy. Always hope the best for u. GBU. Btw, nice & creative Title 😂
Tiansui Malatang is famous for its customizable hot pot experience with a variety of fresh ingredients and flavorful broths. Thanks for promoting the local business. You're awesome.
Like Peking duck, no, instead a bit Smokey from the chilli oil, nutty from the sesame sauce, and the very slightest bit sour from the vinegar. Packed with flavour!
I love Shui Zhu Yu. The first time I tried it in was in Pittsburgh at a really nice Chinese restaurant. I thought I was having a mild allergic reaction. That numb is addictive. When I studied in Shanghai, I ate it every week. It is one of my favorite dishes. So I bet I would love Tianshui Malatang.
The conundrum with social media is that we love, candid, and amateur content but it’s shifted so we can only see what has been monetized. You do a great job, but the influencer culture has destroyed. What was wonderful.
For once I really appreciate your honesty! Speaking like a true foreigner 😂. Upon realizing the shop is closed when u arrived, "OH, you're fucking kidding me" 😂😂😂

"Absolutely killed any opportunity for Amy to try again." No. It was not closed *permanently.* She can return in the future.
@@violetviolet888 I'm talking about this trip.
Hundreds of Chinese people are queuing up in the streets to eat the most delicious food, and Western media regard hundreds of people as homeless. .
@@violetviolet888they said ‘closed for a week’ in the og comment????
"You gotta be F*#king kidding me" 🤣Ive watched a few of your vids but that line got you a sub lol
The Chinese subtitle is even funnier, it says "What kind of international joke is this?"🤣

Tianshui was my aunt's hometown and I traveled there one time when young! I am happy it gets viral and attracts more people to support local economy.
The guagua looks so interesting and delicious, but I would come to that place just for that sweet lady! 😊 She was clearly so knowledgeable and proud of her craft!
Cheers from Edmonton Alberta Canada.

The lady @ 11:26 is really giving Fu Pei-Mei vibes, takes me back to watching her old cooking show as a kid during early mornings!
the market lady selling the peppers is so gangster haha, you should have added the sun glasses meme at the end haha
