I'm 300 lbs and have 30 miles on my new Aventure 2 with 58% battery remaining. Got the bike plus spare battery and $200 of accessories for $2250 total. Ordered a second bike for my SO which arrived with shipping damage today. Looks like the box took a heavy hit to the top side. Bent rear rack and dented fender. (Yay FedEx!) Talked to an English speaking human without being put on hold. Got new parts coming without delay (thanks Denzel W!). So far I'm pretty impressed with Aventon. I think not dead yet. lol
One of the things that's deceiving about battery percentage is that it drains so much quicker as the voltage drops, so the top 30% gets way more mileage than the bottom 30%.
Purchased an Aventon Adventure 2 for $1599 so I’m not sure your comparison is accurate. Took my Aventure out today for 22 miles and used 23% battery. Aventure looks a lot better too. Maybe in a year or two they might be a Aventure killer but right now, Aventon is better.
Great info and advice. Thank you. My wife and I are considering the exact 2 bikes that you and your wife were at.. we were leaning towards Aventon until we did a bit more research and saw that Denago was more bang for the buck. We heard that Aventon Customer Service is not great where as Denago has great customer service, have you heard or know about customer service on the Denago vs Aventon? We are so tempted to pull the trigger on the Denago Thanks again for a great video great job !!
I’m getting the same denago!!! Thank you for the videos, great info! I notice that we are about the same size, how is the denago holding up, does it have enough power for you?
On another review of this bike commented that the torque sensor on this bike had a lag similar to a cadence sensor bike and did not provide instant power assist as a torque sensor should. Have you experienced this on your bikes? Thanks…
not really the torque is less than 1 second lag at most but if you are pedaling you don't notice it. I do notice it over speeding when pedaling with power and stoping, ie the pedals want to keep going.
Very good presentation, even if you did have to pay out of pocket. Have been looking around for 2d bike, Aventon, Ariel & Himiway being my other selections. BTW... What's that lil cross-bar on handlebar...action cam/light bar/accessory mount?...The search continues!-lol
I think you passed me this evening on the Creek Turnpike Trail in the woods part! You politely called out, “On your left!” and hummed on by! I’m a 70#yr-old grandma, white hair sticking out the back of my hi-viz yellow helmet, riding a Denago City 1 that I got from Bixby Bicycles too! Great shop! Yesterday I rode their Memorial Day ride, pancakes and sausages afterward! I really like my City 1 a LOT. It had dropped in price to $999, and Aaron added fenders and rear rack, so it’s been a great value. I think one of the best features, especially because it’s a cadence sensor, not torque sensor, is being able to adjust the max speed of the bike in the display settings. You can set it as low as 11 mph max speed, in 1-mph increments up to 28mph. When set at 28, the PAS 1 level rockets you up to16.9mph of assist = no exercise especially if on a bike path or in a group of riders. I customize mine according to what kind of ride I’m doing, and all 5 PAS levels adjust proportionately. Class 2 (20 mph), only goes to 12 mph, for example, which is what I used this evening, in zero assist or PAS 1 all the time, so I had to pedal and get my workout in except for the fun 26.6 mph coming down a couple of hills! One of these days, I will probably sell it and get a torque-sensor ebike. Hoping Denago will come out with one besides the fat tire, as it’s too heavy for me to manage and I don’t need the fat tires. I hope they produce one, because I would also want to buy it from Bixby Bicycles! Hope to see you on the trail again soon! Thanks for your video - I subscribed! 👏👍🚴♀️
Thanks for this video. It is helping me with my decision making process. I had been looking at the Aventon. But I was leery of the battery size. I do know i want the torque sensor but i also want plenty of battery.
So it all comes down to the battery life now I understand now the bike looks good and very similar to Aventon e bike It’s seems like they copied Aventon style design I’ve noticed that as well how ever i see why he said its a Aventon killer because of bigger battery 🔋 that’s. It
Calvin that is correct and less money for bigger battery. We have been riding ours for months and have had no issues. I have heard of lots of issues on Aventon. I like their bikes but it just seems that they have marketed better than Denago.
Bought one for my wife last week… she loves it, and I liked it so much I have one being delivered tomorrow!

100% agree, I wish there were better battery technology. I see the first 50% good and the last 50% not so great.
I bought this bike, in part, because of this review. I love it! Thank you sir.
I did see you made some modifications to the handlebar stem. Would you possibly share what you have done and why. Thank you for the great video.

I bought this bike, love it!
The only thing I don't dig is the shift lever. Wish they did a trigger

It is a handle bar extender. To mount a light, go pro or my phone on.

Glad I could help!
If I pedal in Eco on the Aventon, I can probably make about 50miles to a charge
