    So my wife bought me a Sony 7000 off of Amazon for Christmas this year....who was it from...VOLUNTEER AUDIO!!! WOOT!! It was a PERFECT KIT!!!! Literally took me no time at all to get it installed and everything worked perfect right out of the box! Its crazy, cuz I was telling myself I wish I had someone I could work with like this....and BOOM...I realize I got my radio from them through Amazon!!! CRAZY!!! (we get gift cards through work for Amazon all the time, so I know who I will hit up going forward!!). I had a biketronics amp and Hertz speakers already in my bike and while it sounds great, I have friends who have done the bag 6 x 9's and they just TRULY fill out the sound. You will never get the bass of a 6 x 9 out of those front speakers, so if you have the means, I would ABSOLUTELY do it. They dont take that much room and are worth the upgrade! Man, tall your bike is TEH BOMB!!!! Betweenthe motor, the suspension, and now the audio...holy crap what a SWEET RIDE!!!!

    Yes, go with the lid speakers. I went with a set of RF in my front and rear and love the sound and clarity.
    And a suggestion. You changed to black forks on the front, get the Klock Werks smooth axle and axle covers in black. Simple to install and smooth out that area of your front end. I have chrome, and went with a chrome set for my front, IMO it is they way they should look from the factory.
    Keep the positive coming.

    Tall recently you asked us to post updates you should consider. Given that your transformed your oem street glide into a fully loaded performance bagger, it isn’t glamorous but a serious builder would/should run before/after tuning of your bikes calculations of your take & trail. There are numerous rake/trail calculators and system to optimize this critical engineering geometry that defines both low & speed handling, cornering & stability.
    Further, these measurements are of particular interest as your running larger custom billet wheels.

    • @TravelingTall
      @TravelingTall  3 года назад +1

      Thanks for the advice, my bike has changed a lot, so far the handling has improved over it stock form. The 21 inch wheels didn't effect the maneuverability. It still feels great to me. Or maybe I'm just used to it know.

    Hertz Great choice Tall. Honestly I would still recommend investing in a DSP. Its like having the cheat code to audio. specifically the Rockford DSR1 because you can control it from your phone or tablet and its simple and dummy proof. The DSP is much more than a equalizer that flattens your Q curve frequencies. It allows you to push those Hertz to maximum output w/o damaging them, you can also adjust the crossover to-increase or decrease bass or brilliance frequencies in each individual speaker so that it plays what its designed to or whatever you want it to play. Also the DSP has the time alignment feature so you can hear the speakers further away at the same time distance as the speaker closer to you. Just a suggestion bro.

    • @screamingchief4889
      @screamingchief4889 3 года назад +2

      I agree with you Donnie. But most likely the amp had a crossover so the guy probably took the low end frequency's off and the tweeter is probably running off a capacitor. Very common setup, it's only a 2 speaker system. At least he flashed the factory eq to level but in all reality the crossover would have taken off those low frequencies to the speakers if he didn't.

    • @volunteeraudio
      @volunteeraudio 3 года назад +3

      The factory eq curve was boosted at 160hz the amp wouldn’t have a hpf at 160, and if it did it would sound bad, we set the hpf at 60hz the neo 6.5 will get down

    You always get better sound using a dsp. You would use the dsp after u flash the harley radio flat, not use the dsp to remove the harley factory curve. Dsp let's u fine tune to get a better sound no matter what....

    • @volunteeraudio
      @volunteeraudio 3 года назад

      Sound is very objective, it’s hard to tune a dsp to someone else’s likes, everyone hears a little different and have different opinions on what sounds “good”. With a flat eq tall can now adjust the bass or treble to his liking with the eq in the bike. Yes with a dsp there is more eq adjustment but we didn’t need time alignment and had correct filters built into the amp. Tall doesn’t own an rta or has the desire to adjust 30 bands to his liking. Just trying to give a great sounding system that’s easily repeatable with easy adjustment for the average rider

    It would be nice to put all fuses in the bike's fuse box, to avoid taking off the fairing. Or run it under the seat.

    I would add the 6x9. It will give you more low end thump and work well with the 6.5”

    I love these videos. My favorite was when you were at Zippers. I really want that Zippers upgrade. Just curious what windshield do you have on there? Also what are you using for a seat? I was lookng at the saddleman rs not the pt or ls. The one with the carbon fiber grid

    I have install the hertz 6.5 you got with the 6x9 neo on someone bike and I'm telling you now you will need a bigger amp than that 600w and dsp. Those 6x9 and 6.5 can handle 400w each with a proper dsp tune. I can send you a video if your curious on how they sound together.

      We do this install with 1 or 2 amps, the second amp does add some volume but it sounds great with the one amp

    I would LUV to know the cost ... may be just a hint? In my opinion .... rear speakers/amp depends on how much do you listen to your radio on a ride. I personally DO NOT listen to my radio that much on a long ride. So I would not add the rears unless the cost was something I could not pass up (< $500.00)
    I was super impressed with the installation .... very professional ..... THANKS FOR SHARING !
