Louis: are you trying the Empress Heavy Menace? I would like to hear someone who knows extreme metal use it in front of a 100-watt Marshall to see if it's useful in front of a high gain amp like my DSL. So far, it seems like another pre-amp pedal that might not do well in front of an amp, but its EQ and noise gate seem great.
I was just looking at the newer Menace the other day! Haha! I seriously loved my Empress Heavy and this seems like the same pedal with a few extras but in a smaller package. I'm shocked that they were able to stuff the original pedal into this enclosure! Less channels though, so it was a squeeze. At $250, I think it's a great price, as long as you can still get brutal tones and it doesn't sound diode-fake. I'm wondering if it needs to only be used through a clean channel or if you can run it fully as a preamp pedal right into a poweramp! I'll reach out to them today to see what they say and will write back. Happy Wednesday!!
@@louistorres Louis: It’s a pre-amp pedal, so it’s a waste of money like so many of these pedals. I just got an answer last night from a guy who tried it out. The gate and EQ are nice but the distortion sucks for those of us who play with tube distortion. It would be nice if people would either label these things accurately or tell us that they’re made for clean amps/Fenders and ppl who don’t use Marshalls/Dual Recs/Fireballs.

You know, everyone almost seemed to prefer these fake ass RUclipsrs who'd sell their own mothers for $10. So, instead of waving around saying, "yo, I'm here!" I decided to say, "that's what you like? Have at it. Enjoy the dude who is making a video then editing the fuck out of it, even though they say they don't. The issue is that I know too many people, and the folks they trust with the truth, eventually made its way, as a little birdie, to my ear. Lol. So I bounced. I've thought about making a comeback but I'm working on an ai project that has great potential. Nothing like being a billionaire who talks about metal!! :)

I can tell what it’s like easier with a mic off a phone or a room mic over a close mic’d sm57 and with heavy editing. A lot of the “famous” RUclipsrs annoy me. It’s like they’ve developed a fictional character of themselves to be “famous”
I would say screw what everyone thinks. Do what you enjoy and make the videos how you like and if it changes one persons opinion on a certain piece of gear or 20 you still made a difference. I want to get the ksr ceres and pa50 after seeing your videos. They sold me on ksr. Love the vids. Hope things are well

Do you know if they'll be offering a ToneX package at some point? I only see Kemper and QC on their site. These sound fantastic.
You'll have to ask him, I think he has a ToneX already but see if he's going to create profiles for it.

Friedman amps are brutal but I think they're really pricey, so most guys go with other brands at that high range.
