@@FremontLeland well I watched the music theory basics from pretty much every video you'd find looking it up. Regardless of if it's on guitar or not music theory translates to all instruments. After that I mapped out all the notes on the fretboard and learned the intervals for major and minor by literally drawing each one out for each note till it burned into my memory. I started seeing a random video of eletric guitar, now I´m obsessed, seeing videos of it, seeing ur video was amazing, keep going dude, loved ur style and guitar. I always get happy seeing other people progress, guitar is amazing, I hope someday hear your musics (already subscribed)
Very realistic, nice video, i see a lot of people taking the guitar as an end while i take it as the journey and choose to have fun doing it, 6 years playing and still going , im not gonna be as near as a music professional, but i enjoy my time playing and for me that is all that matters
At first it always looks damn hard to remember everything it takes time but if it goes pretty well then sometimes you can even play all stuff without even looking at it. I will say in 1 year you have littrely nailed it dude. Very well 👏
I’ve just about reached my 1 year point and I can relate to this video. Learning guitar is a childhood dream of mine. I always thought I’d be taught by my father but I’m self taught.
Learning guitar is all about the journey. You keep learning things along the way and you have fun doing it! You'll never master the guitar but that also means you never stop learning, and learning is fun! That's what it's all about. You'll never get bored of guitar unless you stop learning, so keep learning and keep having fun! 🤘😄
Thanks for uploading this. Been at it for a little over a month and have been feeling bad about my progress. It’s a hard instrument to learn and you need to be patient with yourself
I love this video and ones like it. My son started very young and is an amazing player. I just picked up the guitar again after struggling and giving up MANY years ago. What surprised me was how many chords I knew and could play effortlessly. That said, there's a ceiling I hit very quickly. It's cool to watch you fight through it. I watch my son and I feel like he knows some magic trick to make it look so easy. But, then I remembered how he had a guitar in his hands every waking moment. I think Guitar Hero helped a lot with dexterity. Anyway, keep the vids coming!
I’ve had my electric guitar for a year but played on and off. Recently I acquired two acoustic guitars and been playing them more to get better at chords and chord switching. I’ve been progressing very much like yourself. If I keep practicing I’m going to reward myself with an epiphone casino next summer :)
Nice job dude. This is really inspirational for me since i'm pretty much a beginner (i've played for about 6 months) thank you for this and keep up the work.
I started learning guitar in the mid of May 2021 (now it is 11 months exp). I could say it was the best decision I’ve ever made! Keep it up. As long as you enjoy and love it.
Keep playing bro impressive to stay with it and progress like that over a year by yourself. Been playing most my life and if I could offer any advice it would be to try to avoid bad habits and try to learn the basics that a lot of people skip over. I saw somebody else comment about holding the puck correctly and I couldn’t agree with that more. Learn proper technique and picking. Learn the scales and chords. It will all come together bro love the energy and song choices man. Keep playing that strat!
You can learn what you want within a year, I started learning bass in October last year and here is a couple of songs to showcase how far I am at. ruclips.net/video/4eXe3lDrkg4/видео.htmlsi=7xVCmoA-bgmbZmOd ruclips.net/video/mvmrd9UIy3k/видео.htmlsi=CelaM4Y7ru6XKG9P ( this video also contains guitar play but don't mind that, just listen to the bassline )
I think the main problem with those YT lessons is, that most of the teachers waste minutes about talking where which finger sits (something you see anyways if you watch the video), while they don't talk one word about the picking pattern and the rythm. That's a rythm problem i recognized by myself in the beginning and in yours too. But you developed stil great in this year, keep going. But as an advice i would recommend you to practice with a metronome and to figure out the rythm for every song. Rythm is one of the most important characteristics of a guitar player and at the same time the thing many guitar players never learn.
I think so too, but sometimes when we turn on the metronome we have to divide it into quarter notes or triplet, bla bla , while we can play them right timing as the songs as what we listening:)
My first night I didn't even know I needed to press the string all the way down to the fretboard. Years later, I can play lot's of my favorite songs, solos, and I can improve a lot of stuff. Timing and technique can follow well to the songs I play. I see your obvious improvements. I wasn't playing good until my second year. Everyones timing will be different, but keep going man. If I may suggest, learn some songs using youtube video lessons. The difficult songs may take a month a piece to nail. But it's like anything, the more you give, the more you get. Peace brother, rock on!
Always nice to record your progress. I started when I was 13 and 31 now and I still learn something new. If I had to suggest anything I would take some time to learn to relax your strumming hand and alternate picking as I think that is holding back your progress a bit. Keep it up!!
Thanks for the video, I’m trying to teach myself guitar aswell. Sometimes it seems like it takes forever, this video shows me that it’s worth it to keep it going!
his progress in just 2 months is insane, ive been learning for 2 months too but i suppose i havent been as dedicated due to exams and school stuff, i can only do a few single string songs and one or two riffs, barely any chords. still, this is inspirational and i will give the guitar my all after my final exams in march
@AyushPatil-v7p unfortunately it isnt, a couple months after this comment, I had to pack up my guitar and focus on some competitive exams for college, when I took the guitar out again, the fretboard had bent and its beyond repair now, haven't been able to get a new guitar since but will definitely return to it some day
this was so cool to watch. i just got my guitar a few days ago and have been trying to find motivation to play it since i don’t really know anything abt playing it. this really inspired me to put in a few hours a day to practice. thank u:))
Learning guitar is not easy but every once in a while ya pick that instrument up and it opens up for you.. I am 5 months teaching myself how to Solo and recently began uploading my own Solos to backing tracks... Never give up your doing great!
learning guitar is the easy part. learning music theory and how to compose, is the challenge. i find that EVERYONE overcomplicates playing guitar in their heads, and thus MAKES it harder on themselves. when playing is actually simple once you grasp the concepts. when i stumbled on some leaps in playing, i realized it was WAY easier than i played it up to be. it was ME overcomplicating it. its really not as hard as it looks. and i came from wind instruments in middle school classical band, and FORGETTING how to read sheet music (about 10 years between woodwinds and guitars)
Thank you for having the humility to be honest about this! I know soooo many people who lie about how long they’ve been playing (and for what?) It’s nice to see a change of pace
I learned mostly everything just by picking up new songs. Also if you really wanna step up your game talk to people who know a lot more than you do, there’s nothing embarrassing about learning. I’ve learned more in months picking up things from experts than I did in years by myself.
´sick, keep on learning! you managed to get my level after me playing 5 years in just 1 year :D btw at 10:38 its not "one" by metallica, its nothing else matters
I love this video - wild 1 year progress here! I just posted my 10 month 300+ hours guitar learning progress video. My dad believed I could learn it. Even though he's passed and it took me way too long, I'm learning now.
Nice man :) I wish most of my students were as diligent as you are :) Pro tip: Buy a clip tuner and make sure that you are always in tune and check every 20/30 min to keep it tuned, the G and B strings are the worst!
in about 3rd minute you start playing with some sort of comfort, well its not even a month since you picked it up, consistency is the key, keep going man
saving this down as im just starting to learn to play and self teach myself too! wow man, gives me hope as i know ill be hopeless and sound horrible but im excited to get past the first steps and eventually play this goood!!!!! good job man, would love to see how u are now after 3 years
Ive been playing for 2 years on guitar (self-taught) and I must've missed something important cuz i feel something missing. Tips tho, learn songs for the first year, for the second learn scales and run them 4 to 5x everyday, you can have any number of scales, personally i have 2 to 3 scales i practice everyday. Im rusty cuz ive been on vacation but yea keep going you are getting fucking good
I’ve been picking up and putting down my guitars for the last roughly 6years not until recently I started to take lessons, and the lessons definitely help me keep going because it makes me have to be accountable to someone to prove I’m practicing. I love that you’re self taught, it’s a pretty awesome feeling to teach yourself how to do something. My self taught stuff is working on cars and driving’s stick shift, unfortunately playing guitar isn’t one of them but hopefully I’ll be able to play well some day!
Your 1 year progress is so good i just started playing a couple weeks ago and this video has given me so much hope on to continue as I’m self teaching as well - could you give any tips?
Hey please can i ask you abt smth ? I wanna buy an electric guitar and i have 0 experience abt guitars .. so should i buy a classic one first or can i start on electric guitar as a very beginner??!!
@@md.l230think of 20 songs you’d love to learn on guitar, are they mostly electric then buy electric if not then buy an acoustic, I have both, but love playing acoustic more as the sound is just there and I mostly want to learn acoustic songs i.e. this is the sea, both sides now, lotta Neil Young etc
Best investment I made was a Harley Benton Traveler-E-Steel, small guitar body full size neck, practice while watching tv, waiting in the car, lying in bed it’s brilliant, abp always be practicing 😁
I am doing the same thing as you! I just reached my one year last week. I'm currently trying to learn solos. I'm struggling but I hope to get them down by year 2
Keep it up my dude. I’m self taught on the acoustics myself. I’m really amped to test my skills on electric. 14 minutes ain’t even close to reality. Cliche but PRACTICE is a must. If your fingers don’t get calluses your not playing enough. Rock on brotha!💪🏽👏🏽
Would love to do something similar but my cousin around 2 weeks ago started giving me lessons, mostly working on technique, exercises, scales, and music theory which is actually helping me learn songs a lot easier.
It's so cool that we started learning and self taught around the same time except I started in March and used Rocksmith to give me a direction in playing. You sounded waaaay better then when I started out great video! You'll definitely get those songs down in no time keeping it going like that. ^_^
Good for one year! Now practice bending(buy a tuner) and control ur intonation always. Then, practice synchronization of left-right hand using many practicing metods available on yt Try then scales(diatonic) and play it descending and ascending(slow till you get faster) And finally, try to cover solos, for example Bohemian rhapsody one,and try to learn how it happened(little help, its in E flat major which is relative c minor scale)-try to learn diatonic and relative minor to major scales. Keep it up and just play!

Super inspiring dude keep it up. I'm 4 months in and found the video super motivating
Is it going good now
I started seeing a random video of eletric guitar, now I´m obsessed, seeing videos of it, seeing ur video was amazing, keep going dude, loved ur style and guitar.
I like the white fender strat good choice, nice playing aswell much love!
Thank you!!
Prime example of “once you go strat you never go back” love my strat. Keep up the good work man.
Learning guitar is all about the journey. You keep learning things along the way and you have fun doing it! You'll never master the guitar but that also means you never stop learning, and learning is fun! That's what it's all about. You'll never get bored of guitar unless you stop learning, so keep learning and keep having fun! 🤘😄
That's a fantastic first year, my friend! Going to your channel now to see if you stuck with it! 👑
Pretty inspiring and youre also a legend for including all the songs in the description!
great progress never stop playing and keep improving you wont regret it and should be something you should be super proud of sticking with well done.
Anyway, keep the vids coming!
watching him get better as he progressively gets more guitars is so funny, a true guitarist right there
Nice job buddy. I've been learning guitar for the past 7 years. You seem like you've gotta a real passion for it buddy!! Keep it up.
I’ve had my electric guitar for a year but played on and off. Recently I acquired two acoustic guitars and been playing them more to get better at chords and chord switching. I’ve been progressing very much like yourself. If I keep practicing I’m going to reward myself with an epiphone casino next summer :)
Seeing stuff this gives me the encouragement to keep trying and not to give up, thank you for that and much luck in the future🤟🏻
Nice job dude. This is really inspirational for me since i'm pretty much a beginner (i've played for about 6 months) thank you for this and keep up the work.
Keep it up man
Inspiring
Yes
I started learning guitar in the mid of May 2021 (now it is 11 months exp). I could say it was the best decision I’ve ever made!
Keep it up. As long as you enjoy and love it.
hey mate , 10:38 isnt one , its nothing else matters ;) keep playing you've done a great job in one year !
Finally a realistic yet impressive progression good job bro
Keep playing bro impressive to stay with it and progress like that over a year by yourself. Been playing most my life and if I could offer any advice it would be to try to avoid bad habits and try to learn the basics that a lot of people skip over. I saw somebody else comment about holding the puck correctly and I couldn’t agree with that more. Learn proper technique and picking. Learn the scales and chords. It will all come together bro love the energy and song choices man. Keep playing that strat!
You can learn what you want within a year, I started learning bass in October last year and here is a couple of songs to showcase how far I am at.
ruclips.net/video/4eXe3lDrkg4/видео.htmlsi=7xVCmoA-bgmbZmOd
ruclips.net/video/mvmrd9UIy3k/видео.htmlsi=CelaM4Y7ru6XKG9P ( this video also contains guitar play but don't mind that, just listen to the bassline )
Which RUclipsrs do you recommend to learn from
I think so too, but sometimes when we turn on the metronome we have to divide it into quarter notes or triplet, bla bla , while we can play them right timing as the songs as what we listening:)
Great suggestion!
Doing the exact same thing right now. Learning guitar and growing out my hair. Youve given me faith. Going to trust the process!
Thanks for the video, I’m trying to teach myself guitar aswell. Sometimes it seems like it takes forever, this video shows me that it’s worth it to keep it going!
Way worth it!
his progress in just 2 months is insane, ive been learning for 2 months too but i suppose i havent been as dedicated due to exams and school stuff, i can only do a few single string songs and one or two riffs, barely any chords. still, this is inspirational and i will give the guitar my all after my final exams in march
How’s it going?
@AyushPatil-v7p unfortunately it isnt, a couple months after this comment, I had to pack up my guitar and focus on some competitive exams for college, when I took the guitar out again, the fretboard had bent and its beyond repair now, haven't been able to get a new guitar since but will definitely return to it some day
this was so cool to watch. i just got my guitar a few days ago and have been trying to find motivation to play it since i don’t really know anything abt playing it. this really inspired me to put in a few hours a day to practice. thank u:))
Rock on!
On behalf of all the Dutch, we salute you and congratulate you for your fantastic progress. The Dutch are behind you, buddy!
Wow, is this from the king himself
Everyone's first song on the guitar will always be that damned 0 3 5
@@JimmyKilmister 0 3 5 on the water haha
Keep learning those blink182 riffs! When I was younger that’s what helped me learn! I’m also self taught.
I’ve been playing guitar for 15 years and I’m still learning
This is actually pretty useful. I'm learning and I have no clue which songs to start with and now I do. Appreciate you brother
Thank you for having the humility to be honest about this! I know soooo many people who lie about how long they’ve been playing (and for what?) It’s nice to see a change of pace
Wowzers! 🤯 That is really impressive! I’m sure your family and your friends were shocked when they heard you! keep up the great work 😊
npc
I learned mostly everything just by picking up new songs. Also if you really wanna step up your game talk to people who know a lot more than you do, there’s nothing embarrassing about learning. I’ve learned more in months picking up things from experts than I did in years by myself.
just picked up the guitar recently and seeing this really inspires me to keep going, great work!
Sorry for your loss man, may he rest in peace
Nice man :) I wish most of my students were as diligent as you are :)
Pro tip: Buy a clip tuner and make sure that you are always in tune and check every 20/30 min to keep it tuned, the G and B strings are the worst!
Started last january and so far, been killing it, good shit man you ahead of the game
in about 3rd minute you start playing with some sort of comfort, well its not even a month since you picked it up, consistency is the key, keep going man
saving this down as im just starting to learn to play and self teach myself too! wow man, gives me hope as i know ill be hopeless and sound horrible but im excited to get past the first steps and eventually play this goood!!!!! good job man, would love to see how u are now after 3 years
Ive been playing for 2 years on guitar (self-taught) and I must've missed something important cuz i feel something missing. Tips tho, learn songs for the first year, for the second learn scales and run them 4 to 5x everyday, you can have any number of scales, personally i have 2 to 3 scales i practice everyday. Im rusty cuz ive been on vacation but yea keep going you are getting fucking good
What about cords?
@@jaquillahillahfoodstamps I guess that music theory
Look up a video on advantages of acoustic or electric guitars
@@linchubbard3711 okay thank you so much
@@md.l230think of 20 songs you’d love to learn on guitar, are they mostly electric then buy electric if not then buy an acoustic, I have both, but love playing acoustic more as the sound is just there and I mostly want to learn acoustic songs i.e. this is the sea, both sides now, lotta Neil Young etc
Best investment I made was a Harley Benton Traveler-E-Steel, small guitar body full size neck, practice while watching tv, waiting in the car, lying in bed it’s brilliant, abp always be practicing 😁
Haha the 70’s + 80’s songs made me smile
Layla is one of my favorite songs.
Keep it up!
A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
Congratulations! You've managed to wiggle one toe.
Yes just the baby steps for now!
I started playing like 5 months ago, this is so cool the realistic progression
Surely isn’t all rainbows and butterflies :p
Would love to do something similar but my cousin around 2 weeks ago started giving me lessons, mostly working on technique, exercises, scales, and music theory which is actually helping me learn songs a lot easier.
I need to learn more theory
@@FremontLeland Don’t we all lmao 😂
It's so cool that we started learning and self taught around the same time except I started in March and used Rocksmith to give me a direction in playing. You sounded waaaay better then when I started out great video! You'll definitely get those songs down in no time keeping it going like that. ^_^
His looks slowly evolved to Jhon Mayer
Nice bro keep it up, it gets really fun at like 4 years
Good for one year!
Now practice bending(buy a tuner) and control ur intonation always.
Then, practice synchronization of left-right hand using many practicing metods available on yt
Try then scales(diatonic) and play it descending and ascending(slow till you get faster)
And finally, try to cover solos, for example Bohemian rhapsody one,and try to learn how it happened(little help, its in E flat major which is relative c minor scale)-try to learn diatonic and relative minor to major scales.
Keep it up and just play!
Thank you!
thanks for the motivation bro i started playing 3 weeks ago and watching your journey gave me some inspiration
11:13 respect for you for that Nirvana🔥
ive been playing guitar for almost a year now off and on and this inspires me to keep going. Started practicing every day for a few weeks now
