so much energy
for such a dead crowd
Ever been to a punk show???
Dan Rincon: What tempo do you wanna play this song?
John Dwyer: Yes
This sounds like it's purposefully in the style of orc, especially John's vocals. I'd love to hear the entirety of Floating Coffin performed with this level of manic energy.
So much Ty Segal influence

he still has that left from the zeigenbock kopf days

my favorite band :)
Me too ! That album on your pic is a masterpiece
The drop was pretty good too
god yes its so good and they seem to kick live even more ass than on the albums
DannyTheToker1966 Beatles are nothing compared to these guys
DannyTheToker1966 yep nice reading buddy
DannyTheToker1966 Led Zeppelin IV is better lol
Well, early morning underneath the city
In a tunnel calling "Rescue me!"
I come from the mountain, I've returned again
Without a tear, naturally
Get out, whoo!

Yeah, whoo!
Girls like to smile half the time
Boys are the trouble all the time
Sitting in their pockets just a dime
Lifting hefty spirits from the slime
No one likes a heartache or the kind
Everyone's a problem sometimes
Flipping over secrets day and night
Flipping out our insides, what a fright!
I need to see this band live
Has anyone ever considered harnessing the raw power of Jon Dwyer and company for the oncoming energy crisis?
no but im sure they will figure that out sooner or later
2:40 when I realise I have 3 overdue assignments to complete...
00:11 there is just nobody with a similar guitar tone its intense
That's exactly what I was thinking. Technique wise, it's just a bunch of power chords, but with that immense fuzz, and drenched in reverb, creates such a powerful chaos of sound.
Fuck yes
@@peeptalk Its just fucking ridiculous playing this guitar must feel like holding excalibur
@@RegularDude00 and he doesn’t even wear armor (earplugs) he’s a madman
@@toberle9468 Ive been standing front row at one of their shows. There is no way he has no ear damage. I was so glad that i brought my ear filters.
wow that translucent SG body is freaking SICK
He no longer plays it, says it needs parts and the guy who built it died.
So much energy in this intro, love it
he violated that mic!
i imagnine my PP but i done know english very good
These guys time travelled from the 80’s punk scene. 👍🏻

Reminds me of the Rezillos'!
Yeah, sounds a lot like Flying Saucer Attack
Thee Oh Sees is one of the greatest rock band of the 00's to today. They get 80k views. Meanwhile, Nickelback get 400M views. People don't know how real rock sounds.
Just wait til they discover Hoobastank!
Wooo woooo woooo
Yep, that band was bringing d sound! Feel like I just put my face n ears to a jet engine exhaust on full throttle
Kinda reminds me of The Cramps. Awesome!
Goddamn what a rush!!! 🤘🏻

Like Jerry Lee Lewis on a guitar

Just saw them at the Norman Music Festival. Anyone else?
fuck yes
The drumer seems like a mix between the opponent of Neyman in Whiplash and Mads Mikkelsen
Holy shit lol thats so true
GHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHA!!!!
any body here got accurate tabs fir this song?
There must be a lesson somewhere on yt, but it's a bit off. The song is very simple though
does anybody know what pedal he was using at the beginning
Death By Audio Fuzz War (probably one of his special models) and he has a DD3 on the amp
@@TinkerToneworks At what part do you hear a fuzz war? I know that's obviously one of his main pedals but he pretty much barely uses it for this song, I hear him click it on when he uses the high strings or solo but other than that it sounds like he's using a wah and then his amp with lots of treble boost
@@electrify2519 well, in certain parts he's using his wah and selecting different pickups with varying amount of tone rolled off to make different parts of the midrange distort, the amp is already working hard. The fuzz war is what he steps on during solos/climaxes
Why is nobody moshing
Play at 0.75 for the album speed
I prefer 1.25 :-)
John Stanlake we’ve entered cocaine speed
please dont give me jazz ads when I want to hear men in shorts
Anyone know what vocal pedal he could be using?
My guess would be that there's some sort of mild overdrive used on just the front of house speakers with an analogue delay. Could also possibly just be the delay and him making the mic clip due to his aggressive vocals and how the mic is almost always in his mouth haha
PunkTunes maybe some delay and reverb plus vocal distortion but not too high mostly high on reverb probs 70 or 80 percent with a 4 repeat on the delay probs 60 or 70 percent as well and vocal distortion maybe around 40 or 30 percent
He used to use a Roland Space Echo but I'm not sure if he still does
Travis Garman He does not because it would give him trouble everytime since it's and old piece of gear haha. I think I've read that he just use a dd3 instead.
I know he uses a dd3 for guitar, I'm not sure about vocals though. I saw him as OCS, and he was using a space echo for vocals, which is the reason he always has a PA on top of him amps, it's for monitoring with the space echo.
Better than sex!
(Well, better than sex with me)
He's like a very angry cat
tunning?
d standard
this is in fh2
Why is the audience not moshing to this? Must be San Fran or something.
it’s at KEXP in Seattle. For some reason a lot of KEXP crowds seem pretty lame. also funny you mention SF because I’m fairly certain Oh Sees are from SF themselves
@@SomeGuyArchivist Ok, nice, I stand refuted. What' the hangup then?
