My son treated me to the show at the Hollywood Bowl. For all three hours I was mesmerized. I needed a few days to reflect, and so began a quest to immerse myself in all things Gizz. Over the past year since I have acquired all the albums, official boots, and demos. I will see them in November at LA, Paso Robles, and San Diego. This song, the Bowl show closer, sealed the deal. BTW...I am 65.

Great son behaviour, and clearly great Dad character to embrace his interests and jump in with both feet. The most creative and exciting band in rock music right now and it's not even that close
Was there too - that was my first time seeing them, at The Bowl - first day of summer.
And definitely one of the top 10 or Top 5 shows I've ever been to. I have just been into those guys for a couple of years.
In the days following I got the Live at Red Rocks '22 - popped a Cannabis Edible and went on a feel good trip for hours.
These guys also manage to make you feel euphoric all the while having meaningful lyrics. 🤩

Stu is a genius already teasing these Silver Cord glasses right after dropping the Petro demo. Thinking about the relationship between these albums 6 months ahead of time like this is insane.

The outro of Flamethrower was also a huge hint at the next record as it was the only part of Petro that had synths and the Simmons electronic drums.

This is the video that really got me into them. I saw nonagon infinity by king gizzard and the lizard wizard at the record store one day and my friends and I were laughing at how funny the name was. I kept telling them I knew them tho and that they're good. (Because I knew one song, work this time) so a few days after I was watching some of their live videos on RUclips because I wanted to look into them again since I only really knew that one song. I watched this whole thing one day even tho I usually don't listen to super long songs. BUT I LOVED IT. There was just so many unique things about this band that I kept having to find more and more from them, and everytime they blew my mind. Seeing them in August, can't wait.
Kudos to the bass player and drummer. It's not easy to stay so focussed with a song like this but these two guys are holding the whole thing together. Timing is everything in music.
This is the music meant to be played at Red Rocks

First time listening to this band album in 2015, I thought this is old band from 70s... And I checked on Wikipedia, they're form in 2010. Norr way 😱
this was my exact experience watching a video of the mars volta way back in 2003. i thought it was a 70s band and then they became my favorite band. as others have made the comparison this is the mars volta of gen z. different sound for sure, but they both have an authentic spirit that is outside modern convention. look up mars volta at the big day out 2004. Or electric ballroom

@@shogun8-9 yeah i have listened to them. But I mean, he should sing more KG songs. Ok he's probably got his fair share of singing already in KG, considering their output, but rarely a full song. I think they should write more songs for Ambrose to sing.
@@ashrafsahdan5606KG have 3 guys that sing on the regular, Stu, Joey, and Ambrose, plus Crag on rare occasions. Ambrose has such a unique vocal flair, I’d hate it to be over saturated in their songs. “Too much of a good thing” as the saying goes.

There’s no area to really mosh At red rocks it’s just a slope to the stage unless you wanted to mosh on steps lol
