Resort fee should be substantially reduced during the Winter since it's too cold to use the pool.
😂
Agreed!
The fee isn’t as bad as everyone makes them out to be.
Many times the resort fee plus room rate is still very reasonable usually under $100 a night mid week!
The non resort fee resorts rates are usually about the same. So though they claim no fees they are charging the same rate as the properties that do.
"Should" the most stupid.... Non- able to think lame word that only lazy lacking vocabulary people use

Las Vegas hotels that all suck
Just arrived in Vegas, and already came across issues at the Luxor. We booked a king premier ahead of time, and got to the front desk and told no King rooms available. Took us standing firm for them to actually honor it. They had offered to cut our resort fees on two nights. So I guess that's an option. Book a king room, and when they give your room to someone else, they might waive your resort fees. We were told they can change rooms however they want, whenever they want and every hotel everywhere is like that. I've stayed in many hotels, and never had that happen or been told that.
Another "VEGAS WAY" to PISS PEOPLE OFF 😡
Vegas has become far to expensive for me visiting from the uk. I can go to the carribean all inclusive for cheaper
the gold standard of vegas guides thank you brother. you make living in vegas better.
Thanks for the update Jacob. Resort fees are a rip off!
No, they aren't. It's part of the room price. You KNOW it.
@@stevekassel3301So just include it in the room price
Jacob is my favorite for Vegas. I think it’s his sincerity
Agreed. Ive never been to vegas but i love watching these videos haha
Having a coffee maker in the room at Casino Royale really saves time and money! I purchased my own 1-cup coffee maker which I put in my suitcase when coming to Vegas. Most of the big hotels do not include a coffee maker in your room. They want you to stand in line a Starbucks and pay $ 6!
$6? What is this, 2015? It's $8-10 lol
This list should have started and ended with Four Queens. In my opinion, it's a true diamond in the rough. For an older property it doesn't need a whole lot of refreshing. Magnolias is a hidden gem on Fremont and Hugo's Celler is some mighty fine dinning as well.
Oh, and another excellent vid Jacob
I agree.
Vlog idea: When signing up for hotel players club cards, sometimes you get free parking, resort fees waived, food discounts etc. Can you do a vlog on a few of the programs? Great vlog, keep it up!!
Vegas just seems like a total shakedown these days, from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave.
Then don't go
@@stevekassel3301 Thanks. I didn't realise I had that option.
@stevekassel3301 Oh, you rapacious capitalist you!
Pretty sad when sometimes the "resort fee" is more expensive than the room
Quite common in Vegas these days.
I just reserved a strip room for $11 a night. Great, right? The resort fee + taxes were almost 5x the room rate - for a very dated, altho 'okay' hotel thanks to the location. So, not a 'super deal' but sadly, a relative bargain. But NO THANKS to resort & parking fees. Thankfully I am not parking there. Cheaper to park off site & Uber in and out.
Your videos are so good. Very informative and not a bunch of nonsense filler fluff. 👍
The four queens has the best location by far with no resort fee.
However a good tip, sometimes there are exceptionally low prices on hotels,on sites such as hotwire and agoda, and even with a resort fee payable locally, they still work out just a little more than those hotels with no resort fee.
Be careful tho with mgm resort properties like excalibur more often than not they have rooms well under 50 dollars, but if you are driving add on parking and the resort fee and thats quite a costly night for what quite often is a basic room.
Do your research on a variety of sites and weigh everything in before making that decision, just dont limit yourself to no resort fee hotels, take everything into account before making the decision
Resort fee + parking fee = Financial R*pe.
I stayed at the Marriott Grand Chateau my first time in Vegas via a timeshare deal with an ex and it's just a 5 minute walk to the Strip. Very nice hotel and a nice pool as well.
I'm planning a trip this year. Thanks for the video
😊😊😊great video. You certainly did your homework. The FTC needs to pass a law regarding hotels and resorts to incorporate the resort fees into the room pricing. Many times hotels with resort fees are cheaper when adding the room rate and resort fee. LEARN HOW TO ADD FOLKS!!
I'm not opposed to hotels being forced to list their prices like a gas station is made to, on the hand big brother government really needs to help people learn how to add?
Excellent video Jacob, thank you!!
Great video, Jacob!
Thatnks for the info Jacob 👍 You should do a video on the haunted Binions rooms 😅
Really really really helpful! Many more options for me now. Thanks!
Man, the pricing on this list really drives home the reality that if you can avoid being in Vegas on a Friday or Saturday night you should absolutely do so!
Four Queens remains the consistently best value in Las Vegas to me. Magnolias is very reasonably priced, you are at the center of the action on Freemont and the Strip is just a bus ride away if you want to get away from downtown for a day or so.
Hotel prices have gone nuts, whoever thought that a Motel 6 could ever get away with charging over $100 a night?!?
I stayed at Gold coast and it's perfect. No resort fee. Palms and Rio right across the street
and if you eat at Magnolia's, a validation gets you free parking.
@@cross_country_gambler I love the Gold Coast as well, but it definitely charges a resort fee.
@@cross_country_gamblerI stayed at Gold Coast September 2023. They charge resort fees, except on comp nights.
Yeah, I don't really care for Binion's or the 4 Queens. Fremont St. at night is loud as hell. I heard Casino Royale wasn't going to be around much longer. I have stayed at Marriot Grand Chateau and it is pretty good. I like the location.
As always Jacob, a great informative video ! You should consider doing commercial voice overs. I think you could make a ton of money doing that.
my parents stayed at the embassy suites when they came. idk if there still isn't a resort fee, but they didn't have one. the food was pretty good too at the hotel. easy monorail access for the strip ^_^
Good Info ! Thanks ! Last 2 times I've visited Vegas I've stayed at the Horseshoe (Bally's -- 1st time). With resort fees it's been around $ 100 and it's right on the strip. I go to Ellis Island for good/great craft beer ! $ 4-5 and cheap tables. Last time there I asked for an (free, per your suggestion [Sept.]) upgrade and they gave me a higher floor with a good view of the Sphere ! 😛I Uber to and from the Airport. Once I took the bus and that was not bad either. Last Sept was there and seemed a mess with the construction and closures for the Grand Prix ? or just general road construction. ( .... Uber ! ).
Great informative videos. Enjoy following you.
You mentioned Magnolias at Four Queens but Hugo’s Cellar is one of the best restaurants in Las Vegas.
My mom used to visit Vegas in the 70’s to see Elvis and stay a week for about $500 including flight
I stayed at the 4Queens 30 years ago for 21.99 a night, it had a bed mattress that looked like a roller coaster, we needed something until out other reservations were ready.
thanks for all the great info
I stayed at Marriott's Grand Chateau using my time share. Fantastic resort! Clean, beautiful, luxurious. Great location and convenient valet parking.
Thank you for the shout out of the Ahern Hotel! People really should seek out this hidden gem. Much love.
I stayed at Gold coast and it's perfect. No resort fee. Palms and Rio right across the street
Good info. Thanks
Thanks Jacob. Gone are the days of 'reasonable' rates so you can spend more gambling!? We used to go to LV two or three times a year travelling from Toronto Canada. Spoke to a Casino Host we use to deal with and She basically told us 'those days of comp nights and added benefits are pretty much reserved for the bigger whales now'. Ohh well...
Nice video as usual Jacob, Very informative. When visiting vegas We prefer Downtown and usually try to stay at 4 queens. Ome time did stay at the Apache hotel. P.S. We did not see any ghosts.
Thank you for this list! You 'da man...
The Signature behind the MGM Grand does not have resort fees. Included is valet parking and access to the MGM Grand pools (when they’re open). There are a couple of smaller pools accessible to Signature guests. Not sure why this property was omitted from the video but it’s worth checking out.
MGM Signature's FAQ section on their site says there's a $39 resort fee
Love The Fremont experience and the whole area!!!
Jacob is my go-to person for my Vegas info.
Four queens is my go to for sure!!
😎
Love your channel Jacob! I have a request for a possible future show. Because of Covid I have become dependent on a wheelchair, but I would still love to come to Vegas one day. Can you do a video on accessibility, especially for wheelchairs? Also maybe tell about a nearby business that rents electric wheelchairs and scooters. Thanks.
Thank you for the information and your videos. I thought Gold Coast was one that didn't charge resort fees? True or not true? Thanks.
Jacob.....like how you touched on cheap places to gamble.....How about a segment on best/cheapest to play table games (craps/roulette/blackjack)!
Stayed at the Marriott Grand Chateau awesome experience
Love your information, it only takes an hour to get there from here.
I didn’t see The English Hotel mentioned. We stayed last spring and it was great. Food was fabulous.
Great video Jacob 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Great video. The thing is, even with the resort fee, I’m usually able to stay at Park MGM for $50-$100 a night. Seems like going to these places you’d be staying at worse properties, spend more money and spend way more on a rental car or Ubers.
If you can get Park on a Friday Night for $100 I'd like to say it... and $50 for a Friday night is some kind of fantasy...
@@ashleighelizabeth5916 Not a lie. I’ll go and do just that this coming weekend. I signed up for their players club and January is dead.
Treasure Island also has optional resort fees and free parking. Another solid option! 🎉
😎
What do you mean by optional resort fee?
@gpaclobo5680. "Optional?" My option would be to not pay the resort fee.
@@AKKTerry if you want to utilize the 'Resort' amenities you pay. Or if not, you dont.
@@ronaldoago-go5907 hmmm interesting. 🤔
Ban all RESORT FEES LAS VEGAS
Hi Jacob, perfect video as I am looking for a few nights soon. I heard about the Nirvana Hotel (only great reviews). is it sketchy in the evening ? Can I walk before 10pm from the Strip to the Nirvana ? (girl concerned) Sightseeing the Strip. Thanks again for this video.
I’d love to see a video on best casinos to stay at for table games (not poker). Which casino has plenty of tables AND is near other casinos if we want to mix it up.
Wyndham Grand Dessert has no resort fees. Time share oriented with four pools, full kitchen, snack bar. Nice property.
Wait. You call Magnolia's the signature restaurant of the 4Queens??? Did Hugo's Cellar close? That's BY FAR the better restaurant at that property.
I messed that up...and I just may have a video on that coming soon 😉
Luv these reports so much I put up with the commercials. OK I skip em if it's over 30sec
In my opinion, unadvertised resort fees are illegal. Lawsuits are working their way through the courts and the DOJ is also investigating.
@@incoherentturd Did you even bother to listen to his report?! Most LV hotels do not advertise their resort fees or include them in their pricing. If you think adding the statement: plus taxes and resort fees is advertising the PRICE of resort fees, you’d be wrong. Plus, resort fees are nothing more than an invented 100% profit center, so they must be included in the base price of the room. As for paying attention, I would counter by saying the only people who defend resort fees are those in the hotel/gaming industry!
@@incoherentturd What are you talking about? EVERYBODY complains about resort fees. Why do you think there are so many law suits winding their way through the court systems?
Good thing your opinion isn’t law 😂
@@zaynegrey7056 Well, my opinion IS an expert opinion, unlike yours, informed by 43 years as an attorney. And, as I also wrote, this illegal practice is working its way through the courts. So, clearly, my opinion is not an isolated one! Thanks for playing: Let’s be a snark!
@@fantastiqueberliotz1209 👍👍
Cool, thanks =)
good videp
hope to hear more from you
Hey Jacob. I have a tour book in Las Vegas, and I am interested in the Golden Nugget downtown. I was wondering if you could give a tour of your video on the fire pit and waterslide.
I was just in Vegas for 3 days and was wondering if I would run into you. Maybe in April when I come back.
I love how for Lunar New Year weekend room rate goes up 400%
8:22, Now that’s a high-roller 😁
I got a junior corner suite at 4queens for $50/night...beautiful view and great room...ask if they have any junior suites available
Yeaaah Buddy! Great tips!
Glad you like them!
Question: have you reviewed the Tuscany suite? My friends raves about it and says it's a cheap price no resorts fee and the rooms are really nice.
another well done video
Jacob - Have you ever eaten in Hugo's Cellar at 4 Queens? Fabulous restaurant for an anniversary, great food and incredible historic atmosphere. You need to order cocktails, that alone is an experience.
Thanks!
Thank you for your dono!
Good job Bull.
I get free rooms offers from MGM and Stations casinos. It used to be that you were not charged fees with comp rooms. Especially at MGM properties you are spending almost $60 a night with its fees, have a dog, add another $50 per night
I have been here in Las Vegas since December 2022, but before that when I was a lot younger would visit and I found out that if you book 2 weeks almost a month in advance on a Wednesday with any of the casinos the price is better
@JacobslifeinVegas could you do a video on great places to stay in Nevada that aren't Vegas? I know your channel is Vegas based. However, I see you talk about Nevada as whole sometimes so I thought I'd ask.
Interesting. Thanks for sharing. Can you do a video on very inexpensive places to stay for persons going to a conference? Like less than $90 per night. Is that possible and still be able to go easily to business conferences?
Every conference I've attended usually offers a, "conference," room rate if you can prove that you are attending the conference or book through the conference organizers. It's usually a bit lower than retail rates. Maybe not $90/night.
👍 thanks, v useful
"FREAKS on Freemont st" had me rolling!!😂😂
Jacob. Travel Ruby just put out a video that said only Gold members and above get free parking at MGM properties. Or if they have the MGM credit card. Do you know if Pearl members no longer get free parking? We arrive in Vegas 1/18 and if our Pearl card no longer gets free MGM parking I’ll soon apply for their credit card. Thx.
Oooo new intro is fire
We have booked 4Queens “premium” tower for our second Vegas trip. Is there any better value out there? We stayed on the strip 9 years ago. We will not be renting a car this time.
Interesting I believe if however you flying from outside the USA depending who you use to fly some will waive the resort fees
Staying one night... $54 room rate, $46 resort fee. It's ridiculous!
$100 a night that's cheap in Vegas.
Then don't go
You're missing the point.@@stuartkane2786
@@stevekassel3301 That's what I do. I don't go. My last visit was May 2015. I loved visiting there and I miss it.
Where - CircusCircus? Still cheaper than an advertised "full" rate!
My question is a little off topic, but here goes: I've been practicing playing Texas Holdem with a app on my phone. I know the basics pretty well now, and would like to try playing in the real world. Could you recommend places that have games for entry level players? Also, what to expect to spend, and what protocols?
try circus circus
Carriage House is awesome!
Good stuff
FREAKS ON FREMONT STREET LOL - Thanks for vid , very informative
Is it true that resort fees contravene Nevada's Deceptive Trade Practices Law and are therefore illegal?
May I have one honorable mention of T.I hotel free parking no resort fee.
So you know what would be my perfect info? No resort fee, or affordable total price WITH a fridge that I can use, in my room
Love your stuff. Thanks
Great video🥰
The Nirvana hotel is a great price weekday but you would be better off getting breakfast elsewhere due to paying about double the price per night for that option
$149 ?Do you consider it cheap? For 2 Queens room I pay in Excalibur, when ordered 4 nights, $103 per night and this is a total amount, including resort fee and taxes. And this price based on fact that it calculated from Thursday to Monday -most expensive days and I ordered it for beginning of August - hot season. It's more quiet there and it's on Strip.
People whine way too much about resort fees... just pretend its part of regular rate. You can still still somewhere like excalibur for under 75 bucks a day with resort fee included. You cant rent a room at a days in in the middle of south dakota for that price.
Just pretend its part of rate. They charge resort fee so they can get more of the money instead of expedia and other sites taking more.
But with the resort fee you are supposed to be getting something extra some benefit for paying it.
Any info on the Las Vegas club? Do they still have that one liberal blackjack table?
I'll be staying at Golden Nugget for $79 with no resort fee next weekend. Just get a player's card and get the same offer.
Does it really matter? A hotel could just remove a resort fee and bump up their room rate
I miss the table game at Casino Royale. Many hours spent there
Isn't Casino Royale closing down or already closed?
I have been to Vegas 41 times since 72. Most I ever paid was at the Bellagio that was $225 for a fountain view on the 7th floor. In my opinion the reason for everything being so high? There are 10 times the people on weekends, compared to the past 😮
Ellis Island has $5 Blackjack that pays 3:2? That's incredible. I didn't think it's possible to find a $5 game (especially 3:2) anywhere in the greater LV area. And surely I didn't think $5 craps even existed anymore. The cheapest craps in the LV area I recall was at Jokers Wild where it used to be $1 pre-2020, but they no longer offer that game. Believe it or not El Cortez used to have $3 craps on weekdays and $5 craps on weekends. Those days feel like an eternity ago even though it was only 2019.
