Dealing with pain and injuries from the bumps is possibly the biggest challenge.
Even wrestling critics have to commend wrestlers for dealing with injuries and coming back to compete.

That wrestling ring is unforgiven. Something simple as running the ropes incorrectly can cause damage. People think the ring is gimmicked like its trampoline or something its the complete opposite thin layer mat on top of wooded platforms.

In my personal opinion, wwe uses real stunts that are predetermined to entertain us as spectators (in detail) certain stunts performed and injuries are professionally manipulated on purpose as opposed to faking the injury.

Yes story lines are determined but those wrestlers are going through just as many surgeries if not more than NFL players. Back in the day The Rock said he retired early because he said he wanted to be able to walk when he gets older.
Eh, NFL guys are getting CTE, they don't get bumps, they get full on hits. Yes they have gear, but that just means more hits you can take. There are plenty of WWE guys that are fine. It's usually the big guys that relied on roids and carried too much weight with problems.

Wrestling is a type of performance art, here you have people that are supposed to live the gimmick aka method acting, while also being trained stuntmen. Understanding it this way forgoes the whole fake angle and allows you to enjoy it for what it is, a performance.

Is Pro wrestling fake or not? Neither because it's both, it's fake because it's not a real legitimate sport, it's not fake, in terms of it being "sports entertainment" and the "outcomes" being "predetermined", the violence is fake, it's just VERY VERY physical and so real accidents do happen but they aren't really punching/kicking each other for example, I guess you can say the falls are real, you can't "fake" gravity, so I guess in the final analysis, it's like Mark Henry said, it's complicated.

From the 90s erra my top favorite wrestlers were badass Billy Gunn in Ken shamrock my older sister is 3 years older than me and she had always have her friends over every Friday for sleepovers and I remember running up to them and putting them in ankle locks while they're watching NSYNC on the Disney channel lol I almost broke one of my sisters friends ankles because the ankle lock was my favorite move can't shamrock was my favorite wrestler I used to put my best friend in that all the time and he would refuse to tap so he'd be sitting there crying while I'm trying to break his ankle me a child naive thinking it's all real the whole time haha pulling out my mom's pants smacking each other with him wondering why we're not bleeding as easy as they do haha
