I'd rather stick with one year coatings. That way I can still clay and lightly polish without wondering if I'm abrading away at my multi year coating.

Great video! Question - I wrapped my car in XPEL stealth and ceramic coated that about 5 years ago. The coating seems mostly done and I’d like to re-coat it. Do I need to strip the coating first or can I just re-coat it as it is?

Off topic question, I have a new Lexus GX 550, what should i use to wipe and protect the interior-it has a few different materials to deal with, along with soft touch on the dash...thanks!

Great video. I didn’t know it needed a second step to remove the ceramic coating. Are you saying to use the car pro twice around the entire vehicle?

I believe he is referring to a refinement set. Usually compounding is only necessary with a professional/accredited correctly applied coating (no high spots), just as the principle in a normal paint correction you always want to refine after compounding to remove any haze/micro marring and to get as much gloss as possible from the finish
With the enthusiast/Prosumer coatings, a Rupes yellow and KC f6 is probably the perfect combo/starting point, a set that's between 20-40 seconds (depending on technique/machine/conditions/clearcoat) will be enough to remove those coatings and achive some light correction.
The compounding stage of this video is exactly what you are looking for as an indicator (the visible difference/hazy/cloudy border)if your strategy is working for removing a coating.
It's an awesome video dude knows his stuff.
