      Chris Barviking HEY chris :D you are a great motivation and keep up the GOOD WORK :D BUT i have a question where i am rlly skinny, and quite tall im 55 kg and around 180cm tall. But even though im skinny i dont have any abbs. I can see that you had abbs at the start of your journey. What would you suggest me to do, to get abbs.

    • @TheHartmann31
      @TheHartmann31 10 лет назад +4

      AsIAn BoY There is no shortcuts. Just do your abs training every 2nd day (Not everyday because your muscles has to build recover a day). Thats how you move forward :-)

    This video is my number 1 source for motivation to work out. A few months ago I bought my own pull bar to start working out with thinking it would be easy. However so far I have tried 2 times in order to successfully work out and improve my body which resulted in me failing 2 times and giving up due to laziness and addiction to unhealthy foods and failing to eat proper meals. But I am here to say that i haven't lost all motivation because I know I'm better than my failures. I'm proud to say that it's a new year and I'm going to try again! I can't promise myself that I will be successful this time but I will keep learning from my mistakes and failures and one day I WILL achieve my workout goals because I will NEVER give up!

    "if he can do it, so can i"
    and then i started my own journey..
    altho i was not skinny at all when i started, i was lowkey fat lol, i started training at home and then started going to the gym.. ive been doing this for like 3 months and im already seeing results. im sure im not the only one who started working out thanks to you. thank you for these motivational videos, and thank you for being so amazing. if not you i would probably weight like 70kgs today (im 14). so just..
    thanks for everything :)

    Its crazy how good theese kind of bar workouts are for abs,back and shoulder development, and this guy have had amazing results. There is almost no chest and leg development though.

    • @zoomman96
      @zoomman96 9 лет назад +3

      Yeah every chest work also requires arm work. Meaning arms get a workout everytime u work out back, chest and a times abs. That's why it doesn't look proportioned.

      @ianhowe5373 9 лет назад +3

      Steffenpoulsen Steffenpoulsen This guy is going for a more practical form of fitness centered around bodily efficiency. Yeah, he could pack on another 15-20lbs of muscles on his legs & chest by your conventional lifts (bench, squats, deadlifts, etc...). This would make him look more aesthetically proportional, but it would also limit his ability to carry his own weight, & by that, I mean he wouldn't be able to do nearly as many muscleups, pushups, & pull-ups as he can right now. This guy is a climber. He's not going for Mr. Olympia, so fuck chest & fuck legs.

    • @Gull32
      @Gull32 9 лет назад

      Steffenpoulsen Steffenpoulsen It's fairly easy to work pectoral muscles if you are going for an aestheics approach though. Substituting in wide grips to pull ups, chin ups, press ups, dips etc. can influence the chest and shoulders a lot. Legs is just how often you do calf raises, step ups, squats, etc. but what I find is that as calisthenics exercisers progress they tend to neglect legs a bit in place of pull up routines.

    I see a lot of comments about supplements, I just want to clear something up. I have the privilege to be a part of Bar Brothers DK. I have trained with Chris from the time we started to train calisthenics and I can assure you that he(we) are all about a NATURAL life - including only eating homemade prepared and NOT eating protein bars, drinks, whatever. However, in the summer vacation we actually bought some ORGANIC protein bars - these were all made of products from Mother Nature - so that we could train and get at least some proteins in our body (for example if we didn't have food available, since we were out doing tourist stuff.)
    If you think about it, you really don't need supplements. Just think about any warrior, who was around when there was no knowledge about amino acids, muscles etc. They were incredible strong and you can see from the sculptures they made that the perfect man had a strong, healthy and ripped body, BUT THEY HAD NO PROTEIN BARS! They did it without it, so if humans from thousands of years ago can do it - you can do it.

    Wow. I'm a middle aged American male who takes great care of himself.
    I find you Mr. Barviking a remarkable young man. The intellect, discipline, versatility, maturity you display are not common among Americans. My interest in Europeans and their world view sees the culture you manifest as admirable and worthy of emulating. You inspire me and I see you're thick skinned to laugh at those who disparage you from jealousy and insecurity.
    I rowed in college, currently swim, and pull-ups are common for me. Thanks for the many exercises you inspire me to master - the pistol squats and dips and soon the muscle-ups. I never knew the benefits of calisthenics until seeing your video. Your beautiful body expresses your self-respect and ambition - there is no sense of vanity in what you do. I too work for more ripped abs and greater arm tone. It's helpful for me to see you and learn from you as in America our culture is sloppy and indifferent about physical fitness. I wish we could email, but i have no Facebook. I look forward to more videos from you and your brother. You're a rare young man, and I thank you for your efforts to inspire and add value to the lives of millions.

      Please consider giving us more of your culture with your videos. In American one finds no playground bars as you have in your neighborhood. I have interest in learning how your culture emphasizes such playground tools when we have slides and swing sets. Thank you too for not using steroids, supplements, and showing the natural gains you make with a good diet. Look forward to your future videos on good diets, how you lead a clean, balanced life, and hearing or inferring more about your culture. As I repeatedly watch this video, I marvel at your strength and stay motivated to match it. Wide arm pushups laterally, and handstands, and hanging horizontally are some of your amazing achievements. Thanks for the inspiration.

      S Spence Please if you wish, tell us about your diet - from macro descriptions like percentages of carbs and proteins you consume to specific food you eat and also specific foods you advise people to avoid who want to be toned and lower their body fat composition. I read where you have consulted university professors, so I have both your results and your willingness to consult authorities as reasons to respect and reflect on your views. Looking forward to more of your inspiration and educative videos. Thank you Chris.

      @Tyson007ian 8 лет назад +4

      yeah but because they have more weight to carry it's easier for them to carry heavier weights but harder to carry their own weight, so it's easier to get good at calisthenics if you're skinny than if you're fat.

    • @shinjid3705

      Fat = weight. The fatter you are, the harder calisthenics is. Also the heavier/bigger your bone structure is, the more you weight. There are a lot of valuables but trust me being skinny is way easier than fat when starting calisthenics.

    Actually, this is a strong body. I see all the haters out there saying that if you lift 200 kg with 1 hand you are a GOD.
    No sir, agility is the key of perfection, look at Bruce Lee or IP Man, they are the pure example or how a hunter should be. Also, lifting weights in the same fucking way at gym, cuts all your mobility.
    What you are, is a massive bear that can punch hard, but only a target that doesn't move. But how does that help you when the opponent can dodge any hit you deliver or you just can't catch it?
    Go ahead and drink all your "protein" shakes and get your back full of all those disgusting spots and be Terminator syle, there are alot of potato no class girls out there that fall for that. Calisthenics is about mixing the power of mind and body, something a generic mind can't grasp.
    All in all, nice video and glad to see more and more calisthenics bros out there.
    Remember, two things define you...
    Your patience when you have nothing, and your attitude when you have everything.

      I'm not into calisthenics but if you're new to training you wont be doing much more than push ups, pull ups, squats and other basic movements so you get stronger to do harder movements. :) Google calisthenics workout for beginners etc and you will find a good plan for you.
