Portable rides are modified versions of perm rides, they’ve spent millions on nemesis haunt of the manor and on other attractions recently be greatful

Hey Shawn and Charlotte, really enjoy all your videos 😊 I've been visiting AT since the 80s but not very often as I live with my family quite some distance away... we've been for Scarefest a few times and I've always been really disappointed not to be able to go into the Towers. We're planning a summer trip for a change, and I was really excited I'd be able to go in for a change, so really dismayed to hear it's closed much of the year ☹️ I emailed the resort to ask when it was open and received quite rude replies to say they don't know and they don't have to since they don't advertise the Towers as being open. Really sad and really made me want to cancel the trip altogether - completely agree they should make more of it but they don't seem to care. Sorry for such a long message, but again really enjoy the vids, nice escapism from the desk job!!

The challenge for Merlin / Alton towers this year is to have enough open and working to fulfill a persons long distance travel for a day. Nothing worse than turning up and finding attractions not open or breaking down. People want the full Alton Towers theme park experience.

Hello Shawn and Charlotte.
I am back as if you both have wondered where I have been for nearly a month, I have been to Tunisia with my dad to keep away from the cold weather as the internet there was far too expensive for me and him to use and when I came back, I was self isolated as I had covid which I had plenty of sleep to ease it. I say, at 18:15, they made it look new again. Little me on the right at 19:30. LOL. The Two-Face lookalike zombie at 22:40. My little brother calls him Pete Abbit at 33:10. LOL. I’m looking forward to The Curse Of Alton Manor.
I am very exited for the splash ladings vlog because it is one of the best themed water parks i have been to

The lack of flat rides is really starting to hurt the park. I really hope they bring in a couple next year
It really is. Let’s hope we see some major changes with the new management!
They really are trying there best now though I mean we will get curse at Alton manor and the nemesis and the project horizon is coming and they are probably more major as they will probably be good coasters there is also gonna be a new flat ride to replace the waltzers

Going to AT in May and its going to be sad not seeing the majestic Nemesis sitting in place after all the years but equally excited to see the reconstruction of the legend and look forward to any updates you might be bale to get of it :)
What towers needs is a Zamperla Nebulaz, a small compact flat ride that fits in the small spaces left by the retro squad

Wonderful update guys. I hope to get down to the park sometime this year and see for myself all the work and improvements going on.
Brilliant Vlog, I do think towers need that permanent investment soon, but I think their main focus was to refurbish duel fully first for this season, good to see there is a few improvements around the park with some repairs, repaints and new speakers 👍🏻😎

i think alton towers needs a flat ride like “the beast” that was at fantasy island for awhile, would be amazing and i think it would fit perfectly in any parts of the park

I would like to see a drop tower in x-sector but because it can’t go over the tree height it would have to start underground a bit like oblivion tunnel.
They missed the opportunity when apocalypse was for sale
I vaguely remember when thunder looper was there before nemesis was constructed

I Was At Alton Towers When Queen Elizabeth 👸 Passed Away
Best thing for AT to do would be to open Sub Terra when Galactica inevitably gets closed for Nemesis retrack. Because with both coaster out of action there will hardly be a reason to walk to Forbidden Valley, so the rest of the park will be much busiee.

i went on a trip today to see towers before it opens, not inside obviously, but quite interested, saw galactica being washed
Think they’ve missed a trick with smiler headlining the festival of thrills , surly with 13 being 13 they’d of been better off using that and making a big thing of it , few new merch items and the 13 girl turning up at random times in the season

The updates to Congo River Rapids look/sound cool but are they bringing back the waterfalls? That ride should be wetter than it currently is, especially during the summer months considering the heatwaves we get these days, and while Battle Galleons does exist, rapids are also a type that should really be a soaker imo.
As well as permanent flats, a new, more thrilling water ride should be priority as well, something like a new gen log/super flume (or maybe a water coaster, though the next coaster should probably be one that goes all out, balls-to-the-wall extreme, since it would be SW10 and there is a good chance of 9 being another family-thrill (though you could just about fit a thrill into that building), and Oblivion might be gone by then), and wouldn't as wet as Battle Galleons or Congo (in the form it should be in).
Unfortunately it looks like the Retrosquad is going to be a thing for at least a few more years, since there are still 5 more names that haven't been used. To be honest they probably should have brought in more temporary attractions this year considering the large capacity loss with Nemesis being closed, maybe they expecting an attendance drop and hoping that fixes the capacity problem.

When I went to Alton towers I thought it was amazing but I didn’t like the fast rides I love the gentle rides I’ve never been on a roller coaster ride before maybe can go on if I have confidence Shawn and Charlotte u both make me smile when u both are on u tube have u been on oblivion yet

This looks great! I've never been on duel unfortunately (I was never really a flat ride fan) but I am hyped for the new ride! Sad to see nemmy go though, it just won't be the same.... Awesome to see you two back at Towers and Splash Landings, amazing vlog! ( Fun fact: I was scared of the smiler poster, just the creepy wide smiling woman and the yellow swirling sky wasn't the most ideal thing for young me! In fact I was scared of the smiler in general! But here I am wanting to go on The Swarm! 😅)

I think its a good idea to have 2 retro squad rides in xsector because the smiler always has a 2-3 hour queue line even with enterprise and the retro squad so maybe it'll be cut down a bit. It's the only reason I go to pleasure beach instead if towers, at least at pleasure beach you can get 5-7 rides on everything in a day you'll be lucky to get just 1 on everything at Towers because you spend 3 hours in the queue for smiler
The blade seems lonely seeing as it is one of the only permanent flat rides

Liking the alton vlogs..the changes here and there look pretty good..will be visiting 2/3 June..going to stay in premier Inn..so much cheaper.. don't get me wrong we have loved staying at splash landings..just find it a bit pricey now..might see you there one day..😀

Agree with you guys Hex is an amazing ride, absolutely love it. Can't believe you can't ride Oblivion which is my favourite but I guess you don't win them all.
I kinda disagree slightly with the retro squad thing. They’re investing cash on keeping nemesis alive, and various other things, so I feel like they’re a nice little temporary thing to keep it flowing. Also giving some of the smaller local boys some cash for their rental. Feels like a good thing for me :) … I’m sure they’ll bring some permanents back soon :)

I think Alton Towers has really let the standards slip over the years personally. Removed so many flat rides over the years and not replaced. River rapids are now unrideable. Don't get remotely wet. Just feel they need to paint and upscale many areas that have been left to decay. Funfair rides at a top theme park isn't acceptable into a third year.
Unfortunately so. Some major changes are needed!

Enjoyed your vid,.. When you went into the Hex ride I see a large bell, may be a coincidence but there's also been a old vintage bell spotted and photographed by someone that went in the dollshouse in London... So I wonder if they may link the 2 rides (The curse at alton Manor & hex), I take it Hugo (Sir Hugo Alton) may be mentioned, I presume that's Emily's Father??? (that was the name in the book that moved its pages in the green chair in the haunted house)

Really good video, with loads of interesting information, yeah for thrill riders Nemesis is going to be missed 100% this year as even though I am not currently a fan of upside down coasters, think its a good coaster from looking at it for all thrill coaster enthusiasts & going for this year be missed as its got a lot of popularity. With Galactica, maybe Curse of Alton Manor might get people going down there especially if you can hear Galactica in the distance? Not sure if you can? But if you can, could be a good way to get people & guests to go down to Galactica? Experience it? In World of David Walliams, would love to see if a new ride was an option in future there a unique themed IP Boat ride like Gruffalo? Or The Flume? With references to Flume & Logger Leap in some ways, never got to ride & experience Loggers Leap, which is a shame. But I did manage to ride & experience The Flume in person which I found to be a good log flume attraction. I would love to see a new version built at this park? But bigger, maybe using underground, ground and above levels via small drop aswell bigger drops with big splashes. All with immersive theming, think it would be epic for a new water splash ride 100% in that area? Unless thats what the new inside attraction is going to be? Doubt it, could be a coaster? But still what type? I'm thinking maybe first ever indoor RMC Hybrid Coaster? Or Vekoma Flying Coaster? But a small compacted version? But anyways, cheers for good video, really enjoyed and always look forward to seeing more. 😀👍
Something tells me Galactica wont close for Nemesis construction this year. What Towers will do with the 4pm closures is install a piece after 4pm through maybe 9pm. Work evenings on that section of the ride.
