In 63 we emigrated to Australia from Europe on the previous liner called the MS Aurelia..And took this Marconi back and forth to and from Europe for holidays...I remember stops in Fremantle,The Suez Canal,Port Said then on to the Mediterranean sea..then when the Suez was closed the voyage went the long way around Africa, from Cape Town to Teneriffe Canary Islands and on to the Straights of Gibraltar to the Mediterranean..and just to think this all took 30 days to complete one way in some of the roughest seas imaginable.
Hi there thanks for uploading I arrived Melbourne November 67 aboard this ship , have been looking for info on her but never thought there would be footage. What’s your connection with this ship.
Thank you for sharing. I took the Marconi when I left Australia in 1972 when I was 4 years old! Great memories.
