- The Popham Microlight Trade Fair is a bit of a traditional season opener, and a great oipportunity to check out new aircraft while catching up with friends.
Ed and Dave went along and talked to the BMAA's Rob Hughes, the LAA's Simon Tilling and many more.

Great to see Jonathan and Patricia flying the flag for industry in South Wales. Good job #metalseagulls
It twas a fab day. Good to see Airbourne Aviation and the legend that is Mac to chat with in the sunshine.
Was great to meet you there
Was a Brill Day, brilliant to see the Skyleader debut!
Cheers both.
Nice job on your video Gents!
So, at least one lesson learned from last year's LAA Rally. Were there any others...like the provision of after-show entertainment etc to promote that "social event" you seemed so enthusiastic about? Like a lot of folk who live a longggg way from Popham, to arrive for a weekend's socialising and have nowhere to do it after 1700 is a bit of a disappointment, and the last MTF I attended shut down at 5pm on Saturday. If I could be sure of at least somewhere to buy a beer without having my arm twisted for a "donation", I might be tempted to return.
My Pegasus XL flexing cost me £4k secondhand a good few years ago. The prices are insane now.
No mention of the sub-70s at the show. As a growing sector of the market they need to have some air time.
I must admit that I was pretty disappointed, I did fly in on the Sunday and the weather wasn't the best so perhaps that contributed to the low number of visitors. I was expecting the circuit to be chaos but I had it to myself. Watching the video it did seem to be busier on the Saturday.
Magni bloke lost me at poverty!!!😮
It was disappointing.
If this was in the USA there would be entertainment, commentary, displays, lots to eat and drink, camping etc etc.
It was at best “threadbare.”
Must try harder!
But isn't that the point? This isn't America and the Microlight TS is, to my limited understanding, a work in progress. Appreciate not to all tastes, but I really enjoy the relaxed friendly environment and the fact we can go airside, even when not flying.
@@drchrisbuckingham all accepted as your point of view. But would you really stretch that imagination to headline it “brilliant Popham.” Not in my world!
