I was recently wondering about Leonard, and then this video popped up. I'm so happy to see that he is doing well! 🙂 Please give him my best wishes the next time that you see him. Just from some random guy who purchased a set of his airframe and engine plans 30 years ago.
If it’s not too much trouble i was wondering if you could ask him if i could build one to handle a 280 pound pilot.. if so what he would recommend.. i would love to build one
I’m so glad to see Leonard is still doing well! I stopped by his place there about 6 years ago and spent about an hour talking to him there in Brookshire, Tx. I live about an hour south of him. He mentioned he was one of the last living WW2 pilots. I took pictures and asked questions. Even checked out the old sedan in the hanger. One of the nicest gentleman you’ll ever meet. Thanks for this video!
Wow Im so glad he's still alive at a 100 and still building. I am 80. An old taildragger bush piolet and can't pass my mrdical anymore but long to fly again everyday. I would want the double Eagle. Subbed and hope he continues in good health. Hang on Leonard. Lotts of us need you to. Much respect. Dandahermit.
You lucky dog! How did you get to interview the legend. Wow what a treat to see him well and still building. My first prop was covered in panty hose nylon! (showin my age) put it on a briggs and styrofoam everything else. It flew! Been years ago.
So glad I happened onto this video and got to hear Leonard! Thank you for the video and documenting him, good job. Never would have guessed he was 99 closing in on 100. Good job Leonard, be well.
What a legend. About 5 years ago I took the first step and bought a set of LEXL plans from Leonard. If I never build it that will still be the best $75 I ever spent.
I really R E A L L Y enjoyed this episode. I learned a lot about this fine gentleman's aircraft that he designed and builds . I did not know there was so many models to choose from . Keep up the good work ....
I hope I'm doing that well at 95+ years old! They honestly just don't "make them like that anymore". The guy is a treasure, thanks for making this video!
God bless this man! I met Leonard at Osh 2018 (my first time there) and he was so kind and generous with his knowledge that I bought a set of XL plans when I got home. Still building it and learning as I go along, it's been a fun journey! 99 years old, wow! I'm definitely going to Osh this year and look forward to seeing him again! Quick question, did he show you how the wing fold works on the Cabin Eagle? I'm really curious as I'm doing the wing fold mod on my XL.
Thank you, Sir. From the USAF! Always do your best every day that you can! Always do your best for the greater good of our little existence that we have! Always remember that if you try hard enough you will most likely succeed! I thank you for all of your hard work!!! 😅
Wow now thats one hell of a guy. I feel privileged to have those little gifts of knowledge he just bestowed us. Its worth watching again because those weren't just little tips those were things that took him 100 years to figure out so if he found them important to impart then i guarantee you they are words to live by. Im a general contractor and engineer and i believe everyone has something to teach you however there are some people that have everything to teach you. Hes one of those special ones.
It’s great that saw his plan’s through, my buddies Dad was working on one, even showed me the plans because his son didn’t give a crap, but he ran out of time, sad. Way to go Leonard ✌️🇺🇸
I can't help but admire a man like you!You are a truly great human being and an insperation to the rest of us! I am 70 and have several helth problems and also weigh close to 280 lbs. So i don't know if i could ever do anything like that , but i am going to look into it. Thank you for the insperation sir! Dace Cannon of Spring Hill, Florida.
He's certainly built a cool legacy! And wow! 99??! I was thinking maybe 89 as he reminded me so much of my grandfather! It's gotta be tough to get that old and still be healthy as he mentioned he's outlived his wife and good friends. I rekkon that's why he stays so busy. Helps to be occupied to keep your mind fresh and your muscles moving!
Thanks for the video. I live in Ukraine, and I'm building a Legal Eagle according to the drawings (I'll post a video of the fuselage making soon). Thanks for a great plane!
Wow, I had no idea Leonard Milholland was 99! Dang, I hope I look that good and can speak that well at 99. Love his design and have seen one being built.
Посмотрел с удовольствием. Я отношусь к тому же типу людей, что и герой вашего рассказа. Я строю Питенпол Эйр Кэмпер. I looked with pleasure. I belong to the same type of people as the hero of your story. I'm building a Pietenpol Air Camper.
I’ve been lucky to be Leonard’s Neighbor for the past 8 years. Quite a guy with incredible stories from WW2. I believe he turns 100 this year.

"It's just an airplane, not a rocket". Super neat stuff!
That's was nice. I could listen to Leonard for hours! A Lifetime of experience and wisdom for sure.
Nice job on this, Bryan! Leonard seems like that rare guy that every little airport would be lucky to have puttering around the field!
It's great to see Leonard doing well!

I think they have plans available on his website for folding wings that would work on any LE.

Excellent interview with one of the legendary designer/builders!
I loved living with a hangar in back, it was the HOA and neighbors I couldn't stand. Nosey POSs. 7S5. Took aviation out of me.

*BRAVO!!!* Excellent aircraft, and an amazing designer!
Thank you for this fantastic video. I wish it were ten times longer.
high bp and living at 100 years old. Makes you wonder how dangerous is high bp really?
Always doing stuff lowers that BP. This gentleman keeps busy!
Know him, went to an informal fly-in in the ‘80’s at his hangar. He had retired then so thought he was getting up in age.
Best aircraft channel
GOAT expérimental aircraft!
Amazing man! Fantastic airplane!
