    Wanda is a rare and remarkable woman. God has provided only few women who will roll up their sleeves and work with their men from sun up, to sun down. Treasure her as I treasure mine. We are lucky men to find women such as these...

    We can't wait to see more video's on your build. My wife and I have owned many home's over the years In South Carolina & Florida. We're currently thinking about selling our home and buying land to build our own offgrid down sized home, about the size you have built. Looking forward to more video's on your build. Man, your a great carpenter. ✌

    Where's all the men-folk in your families? Not that Wanda is lacking at all, and you, Danny, know exactly what must be done, and how to do it right the first time. God ever bless each of you in all you put your hands to! What a rare privilege to watch your cabin come together, ...and by the way, that's the longest plywood I've ever seen...I did hear it was your special order, but still... wow! That must have been a bit hairy to handle! : )

    thats a strang build from how it is done here, the plywood is all put on before the walls are stood up. and the rafter tails are cut to go over the plywood, we dont use any of them tin straps you have holding the walls to the floor frame. they are not needed here, ether are the tin strap to hold the rafters to the walls, we dont get hurricanes here at all, we mite get a very small torado that hits a small area, but they dont hit the ground normally, they stay high, you will find in the woods a narrow short strip of trees that the tops got broke off, in a strip maybe 60 to 100 feet wide and 2 or 500 feet long,, so minor, our biggest problem is snow load, huge barns, shopping malls had fallen in, from heavy wet deep snow storms that will dump 7 to 10 feet of wet snow in 12 hours, even though they are engendered for our snow loads, its like parking 10 semi trucks loaded on a roof all at one time, last winter 2 huge new barns went down killing over 100 head of cows. it happens here and there, specially if it rains and wet heavy snow and freezes fast. heavy dumps of rain in spring summer or fall, dont bother anything here, it all runs off fast into the rivers going into the largest of the great lakes. snow is about 6 to 8 weeks out, we already had 3 killer frosts, witch started 3 weeks ago, it been raining just about every day now for over a month, witch is normal for this time of year, until freeze up, out day time highs hit 60F and the odd 70f but mostly stays in the low 50's to high 40's, night down to 30F

      Code requires the metal strapping here. We can get winds over 150 mph in a hurricane. Which will tear a structure up if not built properly. Wish we had some of that cool weather down here.

    • @arnoldromppai5395
      @arnoldromppai5395 5 лет назад

      @@DeepSouthHomestead wow thats a wind, most we ever see is 60 to 70mph but not often, most is 40 to 45 mph in a bad storm, you can have the -40 wen it gets here in Dec, Jan. Feb. march if you send that heat this way
