As someone who hasn't expected much out of Philippa, not only was your video informative for new players, experienced players, and everyone all over, but you've also convinced me to give Philippa another chance with her very cool and interesting kit. Very well made professional! 10/10!
Great video! I LOVE PHILIPPA! She’s my favorite fighter of the set so far and I haven’t even tapped her potential yet. She makes going agro feel a little safer for cautious value fighters like me, since we can always draw back to 4 at the end. Super fun!
I only collect non-IP sets as I believe there's too much content out there already for Marvel, etc. However, this will become my first IP set. The characters have interesting mechanics that feel powerful but not feel pushed like in Marvel. I also appreciate that recent designs are putting emphasis back on combat rather than fatigue.
I love this format! I think the only thing missing is statistics - character card, how many blocks total, etc. You basically alluded to them without giving the numbers. But this format is better about giving a first impression (which is the point). Excited to see the rest!
Everything you say resonates with me , it's the fighter I'm most excited about. She has so much control over the game . In my group, I'm almost always the one that sets the tempo (the pace) . She has everything i could want when I want to make opponents go out of defense or cards even or to slow down the game. Probably really hard to learn and deck order dependant to play perfectly .
Super cool video absolutely love this style! Phillipa is very fun though I don't think she is very good but she is definitely cool. Main problems are that she doesn't actually do much damage which makes her draw a lot less scary since many of her attacks are fine of you block low and she is super weak to after combat movement and her 12 health woth limited blocks means i think a lot of characters can just muscle through her sometimes and just take her down first. Still I'd love to be proven wrong she is definitely cool and her ability is incredibly strong.
LOVED THE VIDEO! New format is really cool (although I'm always going to be down for your first impressions & strategy content)! Philippa is definitely the fighter I'm most excited for from The Witcher sets. Looking forward to getting her to the table myself and starting to feel out her game plan. Only a few more days!!!
Very nice video overview and great analysis! That said, I'm baffled by the number of comments from people saying they'd already written off the character before watching this -- the set's only just been released! Geeze, people could give it at least a couple of months to build up a good sample size of games before declaring a character broken.
I think people are getting her wrong. Owl form shouldn’t be boosted unless completely rubbish cards are used. The constant attacks, even with redanian plot or cunning on attack (which you can pull off if you’re applying a lot of pressure), are much better than a big owl form, especially since you’re also keeping them as possible defenses. The constant, low value attacks with discards AND a move 5 can even put her at a deck count advantage and using her backup plans late game to stall is amazing. The moment people stop seeing her as a ranged Dracula but instead start playing her like an hyper aggro maniac, the community’s opinion will definitely shift.
The format and fancy editing are great. I would say that you shouldn't feel tied down to it if it becomes an obstacle to getting videos out. If you can keep up with it though, big upgrade!
I think on paper many people will view Phillipa as weak or C tier. Nothing printed above a 4 value. Weaker Beastform. Low blocks. Middling sidekick. Then you will play against her and lose in a couple turns and wonder “what just happened?” Tempo always beats fatigue if it’s going fast enough. She can quite literally attack every turn AND has discards. I agree with you sir. She will definitely be a sleeper hit if people give her a chance.
Phillipa in my opinion seems to be the weakest of the sets, but still incredibly fun and definitely competitively viable. Good to see you again mr. goods
Really nice video! Love all the fancy editing, looks super professional. The discussion points were also very helpful and interesting. Love this!

Is great to see you back with these first impressions, they are so good. I like the ne style of editing, it looks very good.

I also thought Phillipa is the weakest of all of them, but that ability and permanent move 5 truly is scary... Great video!

This style is awesome! Watched all the old ones to, but this is definitely an improvement. :)

Nice video! Cant wait to play her, has a very interesting new way to play agro

When's your map guide going to come out?
Just so you know, the right pronunciation for Djikstra is DJ Exxxtra.
I think its more like deek xtra, though I'm not native eng speaker, but thats how geralt pronounced it.
@nikoniss its more of a gwent (the standalone ccg) community meme
@vladimirsarsakov3254 oh i see, haven't played gwent at all.
we still wait strategy guide😤👀

CUNNING
It doesn't stop character abilities, so +2 Achi and so on still applies.
