The first X-Men movie and X2: X-Men United were smash hits at the box office that brought characters like Wolverine, Professor X, Magneto, Mystique, Storm and more into the mainstream. But when Bryan Singer stepped away for the third movie and left things in the hands of Brett Ratner-- things took a turn. X-Men The Last Stand is seen as one of the worst entries in the X-Men franchises and definitely had fans scratching their heads over some questionable decisions. Why did Cyclops die so unceremoniously? Why didn’t Wolverine try the cure on Jean? Why did so many characters either die or lose their powers? How come Magneto didn’t get arrested after destroying the Golden Gate Bridge? To answer all these questions and more, step inside the pitch meeting that led to X-Men: The Last Stand. Cyclops was done so dirty in the Xmen trilogy
To be fair, Cyclops' actor was between films and only had a day or so to shoot on the set of Last Stand.
To be fair, I'm pretty sure Cyclops is the most unanimously disliked character in Marvel(comics, cartoons, and movies).

X2 when they were about to crash, X3 for alcatraz, First Class for the beach, DOFP the stadium. Magneto sure does only use his powers for dramatics/ transport.
Dont forget the dramatics when he took all of the cops guns and pointed them at them in a standoff situation. VERY dramatic!
Magneto like many of the XMen characters is too OP for movies. A movie could start the opening scene with the team fighting Magneto & at the end of the movie they could still be stuck trying to use Plan #427 to get close to him after losing a majority of 1st,2nd,3rd & 4th string characters. If they don't surprise ambush him the first thing he's going to do is kill anyone who can fire projectiles he can't manipulate, so goodnight Scott.

They didn’t comment on how Magneto dropped a suspension bride onto the shore without anything connecting the support towers to the ground. It would crumble into the water the way he had it.

he couldnt use his power anyway because you cant use powers around the boy...
The actor didn't like that at least 8+ hours in the makeup chair amounted to basically a bit part.
They could have least closed his story in the 2nd one with a scene of Nightcrawler telling Storm he has to go back to Germany. Boom. Plot hole fixed.

This didn't happen. Charles Xavier blew up, and physically died. He transferred his consciousness to his brain-dead twin brother. That is the Charles Xavier we see in the post-creds of TLS and at the beginning of DoFP. Of course DoFP's whole plot was retconning the first 3 films.

Whenever the day gets down I just recall how when Cyclops was kissed by Jean, his skin went PLULULLULU. I giggle to myself like a little teenage girl talking to the high school football captain and the day is awesome again. Thank you Ryan.

What I really love about the pitch meetings is that you can feel the dude critiques the movies from a place of love. He makes comments like mystique being interesting or talks about the missing potential of the movies. Like I never feel is a destructive critic! I really like them

I have to say this is one of the very best Pitch Meetings ever made (rivalling The Last Jedi)
Love the outro especially and all those not-so-subtle nods to your catchphrases and love how they got rid of that awful ‘Buuub-bye’ at the end; you can hear from the way Ryan says it that he hated doing that lol (it bugs me a little how few people mentioned about the outro in the comments, I thought it was a nice touch)
