In July of 2010 I had a collection of hammers, looking for the one that wouldn't hurt my arm from swinging it. While looking for another new one at 'Prime Fasteners' the sales lady asked me if I would be interested in the Stiletto Mini 14. I said no way, not at $270 (Canadian). She said take it with you and use it for the day, and either bring it back tomorrow or pay for it. I never thought I would ever spend that kind of money on a hammer, but after just one day of use, I went back and did just that. I still use it all day, every day. Such a great hammer to swing. It's lightweight, comfortable, with no vibration and has lots of power behind it.
Randy's Travels I love my mini 14! It’s a little shorter than the ti bone which I much prefer. Been using it for 4 or 5 years now and when I grab a 20 oz steel hammer (for being rough with) I can feel a huge difference in my elbow.
finally some one testing hammers that actually swings a hammer for a living i called out a few phonies out on that on youtube already yep stiletto all the way
Have you considered the Martinez titanium hammer? Interchangeable heads, depending on your application. You have to buy them individually of course. The titanium I beam construction handle, & the end user replaceable grip. $250 to ease the shock transfer to your shoulder, elbow, & wrist. I consider it paying for future health care up front. He designed the Ti Hammer for Stiletto.
That Stiletto hammer was real good, has a lot of features. But i used Estwing's back in the day, still have my 22 oz. framing hammer that is my favorite.
Lol. I love the idea of making a foam holder for it. I remember when the first stilleto came out. I still have it. The titanium was brittle. Little chucks would fly off around the edge of the head and even hit me in the face sometimes, all from just from driving nails.. I don't use it at all.
I don't exactly use a hammer for framing or anything, just all around reno. I find the Estwing ultra hammer 19oz just as good as the wooden handled titanium one. Haven't tried the all titanium one in the video - it's just too much dough for something that I don't often use.
@@t985gblockingpaint2 gonna have to take a look. I am in Canada and not all things are available here. I was going to try some Fiskars because of the reduced vibrations.
Very nice demonstration but in production framing today a nail gun is the tool of choice. With that said, a titanium hammer is nice but not worth the 6x more money. It would be the same if I bought a $200 nail puller. Maybe better, but not practical.
You dont only use the hammer for nail wood..the hammer is used to do several thing around the job site...bang thing in place...revome things...the nailer wont do all those things.
Where the F is this nub from. That hammer has been out for over 10 years. Just discovering it now. Estwings suck all the way around. They bend as easily as nails when you pull sideways. That 200 dollar stiletto sucks as well. All good carpenters can use any hammer, and nail guns are for guys that can’t swing a hammer. 20 year union California carpenter here. No one bes
Honestly spending that much in a hammer (If you use it at work) is not a big deal. It'll pay for itself in the first week and will literally outlast you and the generation after you. Minus wood handles of course 😂
Hi, what is the actual total weight when u put the stilleto Tb 2 hammer on your electric kitchen scales ? My 20 oz goat claw estwing ( most common in nz ) weighs 803 grams ( 28.3 ounces ) Cheers
Nice skills, but to get that good you've definitely hammered more nails than you should have. Guns are for MOST nailing jobs. Hammers are mostly for tapping things into place, pulling nails, and occasionally driving one. Anyone hammering all day long is just wasting time ✌
What is it with 16oz Estwings ringing so bad, I agree with you the grip is the worst thing about the Stiletto second is how the replaceable face will rotate with use. Overall a very good hammer if you hand nail a lot, but I prefer the Douglas type Dalluge Titanium hammer.
I have a different type of titanium hammer I like it for everything but hitting a wall in place. It lacks the weight my Estwing has. anyone else have that problem?
26 years old and I never thought I’d be looking at hammer videos . Love being a carpenter . Time to get me a man hammer
52 with forearm and elbow pain , get the hammer lol
While everyone else is working ! He's filming in the job trailer
LOL

I have some friends that frame all day everyday and they love their Stiletto Mini 14 ! I Have to try one

If I hadn't found the Mini 14 I wouldn't be swinging a hammer today as my elbow and forearms got too sore with the estwing.

Dang, look at that organization! Do more vids!
Very nice demonstration! Very much appreciate it. Thanks!
Love a video that ends mid sentence. Bravo
Do some more videos bro. Love the trailer.
Wooden 2x4: "Why do you hate me so much :'("

If anyone is walking past your truck/trailer they must have been thinking “what the he**” 🤣🤣

You are Awesome with those Hammers!! Great Work & Show! Beretta9MMUSA Sr.
Yeah this guy has driven some nails in his life. You don't sink a 16d in two shots unless you've driven a ton of nails.
For me you need both a titanium and a steel hammer. Steel for demo, scaffolding and other dirty jobs. The titanium is for nice work, 👍😁🔨🇮🇪
At least
The side puller...comes in handy...
6 years with Stiletto hammer and still going strong

Try the Estwing Al pro aluminum, it's just as good as that Stiletto and it's only $105 us dollars on Amazon. No nail puller though.

Side puller is handy but careful them nails like to spring out towards your face when your using it. Safety glasses is definitely recommended.
I have both, estwing 22 and the gimmick tibone 15 ounce... Hate to say it but I didnt need to spend 2 bills on a hammer, estwing all the way!!
Gimmick? Doubt you actually own one or even used one if you think an estwing comes close to a tibone
For $200 you can buy a nail gun. Who hand nails nowadays?
Standing walls, and miscellaneous tasks. Swung my 25$ Dewalt enough to get tennis elbow in 2 months.
You dont only use the hammer for nail wood..the hammer is used to do several thing around the job site...bang thing in place...revome things...the nailer wont do all those things.
As a working carpenter, I use my hammer every day. A nail gun can't be used in every situation.

Yup, I have a pile of nail guns that I use most of the time, its just fun to try different stuff.

You can tell that you actually know how to swing a hammer! Your up there with larry haun!
Lol
Larry Haun is a great example to all of us! Great guy and wonderful builder!
@@christennygaard2200 how about you post a video of you swinging a hammer bud?....... "LOL"
damn this was great !
Hammer named after a woman's dress shoes .....enough said
And some guys are treating the $200 hammer like a new born and rocking the baby to sleep every night.
The shoes were named after knives
Great show! Do you get paid by the nail??
I wish, its all contract pricing. I use a nail gun most of the time, its just fun to try different tools.

🤣🤣 spoken like someone who can’t swing a hammer or don’t use one for work
Maybe before nail guns it was worth the price or if you're a traditionalist.

When I bought my Stiletto Mini 14 nine years ago the smooth faced head was installed, using lock-tite on the bolt. It has never moved.
Looks like he did better with the 16oz
Had a friend who brought it to a site, end up chasing behind it all day because everyone was trying to hide it! Lol
GIRLY HANDS.
I have a different type of titanium hammer I like it for everything but hitting a wall in place. It lacks the weight my Estwing has. anyone else have that problem?
22 oz east wing..i have 3..lol.
I have yet to see one of those heads not come loose. Even with lock tite.
Girls heels don't have the balls like Estwing
used a 20oz estwing for 12 years now wont ever change
So why are you watching this video?
And the DeWalt Framing Hammer is as good.
how to tell my boyfriend he does not need a 50 euros hammer
There is no comparison to a seletto! Ask your elbow.
Any difference in vibration?
Martinez hammer better than both these 🔨 s
I have the 25 big blue
It looks bit to long .
I find the length helps it swing faster and harder with way less effort. Good for reaching up without a ladder as well
Lucky nails are free.
