  • Gillian Berry shares her story about how Raw Vegan changed her life, how easy it is to fit into daily life, and some advice about juicing.
Two questions I forgot to include and her answers:
    1. Do you miss warm food?
Gillian - "I don't miss warm food at all. One thing I do to have warmth is to make raw tomato sauce in the Vitamix, which naturally warms without cooking.
    2. How long did it take for you to get used to raw?
Gillian - "I went raw overnight and didn't deal with cravings or withdrawals. I felt so good instantly".

Gillian's hair is so beautiful. It's a crazy fallacy that vegan diets, especially raw are nutrient deficient. The nutrients are so abundant in this way of eating and you can see the results so clearly - great skin, hair and energy. Proof is in the (chia) pudding.

Great interview. I've began my raw food journey just in the last 5 days and videos like this are inspirational. I have many of the symptoms she described. Blood work by the way for B12 is usually a misnomer, regardless of what the tests show. Medical Medium exposes that whole conundrum. People might have normal or high B12 readings in their blood, but it may not be going into their cells properly because the liver is damaged in most people. It has become a serious issue across the planet now. I think everyone needs to supplement with it.

Thanks for commenting. I couldn’t agree more about the B12. Many of my clients start supplementing and along with a diet that is building absorption and assimilation, they start feeling the benefits rather quickly.

I like how you said do what’s best for you even if that’s not vegan or raw .everyone will not change their diet even if they sick but we all gotta do what’s best .once the weather breaks I will begin to go more into the raw myself.thank you for always sharing and caring 😊

Always a great video when Gillian Berry is in the room (LOL). Love her. I'm just wondering . . . she's mentioned her 4 year old wakes her up a lot thru the night. Maybe the little one needs a minor adjustment to what she's eating. Maybe a more whole foods, plant-based diet would calm the restlessness at night. Not saying I know it would work - but I know my sleep changed when I switched to WFPB from the SAD diet. Food for thought.

I'm 62 and vegan for 7 years. I recently started my raw food journey a few months ago. I will say this about eating what makes you feel good. Many people who eat a primarily animal-based diet, which is the Standard American Diet, say that they feel better when they eat meat. I think this can be misleading. Because of the microbiome, some people may need time to transition to a vegan or raw vegan or whole-food-plant-based diet, time for their microbiome to adjust to where they are feeling better. The reason I say this is because people need to eat not just for how they feel at the moment but for how they want to feel as they age into their senior years. Many people who feel great eating meat in their 20s, 30s, and even 40s hit a wall eventually where a diet of animal products results in a buildup of animal fats and proteins (plaque) in artery walls. This is arteriosclerosis which is the major cause of strokes, heart attacks, kidney failure, diabetes, and dementia. I was a caregiver to my elderly parents and grandmother for 17 years. None were overweight but all took high blood pressure medications from about age 40 for the next 40+ years of their life. They suffered various forms of heart disease, including strokes and congestive heart failure, undergoing procedures such as bypass and open heart surgery. This is why I would caution younger people to not rely on how they feel at the present moment and think that they can carry a diet of animal products into their senior years and still feel great. That will not work.

Lots of amazing information thank you. I'm transitioning from regular vegan to a raw vegan and I can truly say that the days I am fully raw are my best days. Anytime I have a cooked vegan meal especially the vegan meats I have a heavy bloated feeling. There is so much energy in the morning it is unbelievable. I got a kuvings instead of the nama because of it's smoothie function. Anyway raw foods rock!

We're supposed to eat seasonal I thought. I think you can live on juice/ raw foods better if you live in a tropical state. Winter he coming here so raw would be tough. It would be better in spring / summer. Chewing foods aids in digestion so solely just juicing only isn't a good idea. I believe in the great benefits of adding it to ones lifestyle though.

Wow here again 😂you are the first person I heard say they don’t own a dehydrator so that’s also good to know you don’t have to use that to be raw

Hi....I like to eat huge fruit salad...pineapple.watermelone strawberry cantaloupe melons grapes. Blueberry.
My question is which one is better?
Eat the way it is or make juice out of it?
How it will effect your body ? Eat the way it is vs make juice..
I eat green salad instead of green juice.....
Do you think it will effect same way.???
Meaning lose weight same way ?
Eat the way it is vs make juice????

This is one of those questions that the answer can depend on who you ask. In general, I say eat the food. Juicing is great for occasional detoxing or in addition to a healthy diet. Our bodies were created to work (digestion) and chew.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION!!! i'v learned from a very popular best-selling author that you shouldn't just start a juice cleanse like that all at once because it can be dangerous to your health and even make things worse! He recommends starting with something less radical like only eating raw fruits and vegetables for a while or lowering your fat intake whilst also increasing the amount of fruits and veggies that you eat
