Thanks for your review of the wheels. Where (in the Netherlands?) is this place? Looks nice for skating!

      Thanks for watching!
This is a cycle track in Sneek
One lap is about 1.3 km. of very smooth tarmac
Excellent for skating, although you might get bored after a while…😉

Ik rij nu met nieuwe Matter - 110mm Image F1 - Skate Wiel en rijd beter dan met de 125' types meer gevoel met afzet en minder glij op laaste deel van afzetten..
    Leuk filmpje weer!

I bought a set of these last year, they were definitely faster i think..but my technique needs a fair bit of work to get the full benefit. What do you think of the wheels now after a few months of use?

Thanks for your comment and question! I guess my technique has improved the last few months, I’m feeling more confident using the double push, which is also beneficial for skating faster. But I’m sure that these wheels also contribute to higher speeds too. However, the Berlin Inline Skate Marathon will be the proof of the pudding. I’ll be uploading some new material very soon, so stay tuned!

I'm skating 3 x 125mm on a longer (12.8") frame. I've wondered what is the advantage- considering all the extra weight- of a 4 x 110mm setup. I know they are the 'norm' in racing but I don't really get why.

For me it was personal preference. I started inline speed skating about 20 years ago and at that time skates had a 5x84 mm set up. 2 years ago I bought new skates, but I found the difference in height between a 5x84 and 3x125 mm too much. A 4x110 mm set up is a bit more stable due to the lower centre of gravity and probably performs a bit better under wet conditions, of which we have a lot in the Netherlands.
In track racing a 3x125 setup isn’t officially authorized as far as I know. So for me it’s the best allround setup, but I agree with your opinion about weight. Other than that a 3x125 has also other advantages in terms of rolling resistance etc. , so that might be my next upgrade….😄

If I may add, one real answer: SPEED! (125 is like an higher gear, slower to speed up than smaller wheels, but easier to maintain that speed, also see my vids on the subject😊)

Longer base with 125mm wheels means:-
Pros- good control on straight and longer traction.
good for training to make better control over smaller wheel flex like from 125 after training going back to 110mm wheels your strokes becomes softer and smoother.
Get increased anckle strength and make sharper edges and easier falls. Helps you make your double push stronger than ever.
Good for longer rides after some time spent on adusting from110 to 125.
cons - less maneuverability tougher corners. Hard on joints of knee and ankel. takes a bit longer to get control over its flex . very difficult to quickly accelerate. cannot go for longer agile sprints.
How am i able to explaine all this i too am a professional skater and use 125 mm wheels in a 13.1 inches cadomotus tr5 frame for training before competition. It makes me more agile in controlling tight corners of parabolic tracks when i switch from 125 to 110. i feel very less of fatigue on new wheels when i switch from125 to 110 new unused set for the race. By doing so i have secured constant podiums from last 3 years in row at national championship.
can see my races on my channel
Hope this is the best answer to your question.

Hi, this wheels good for track?

  • @prabhatsharmasmp
    @prabhatsharmasmp 2 года назад +2

New wheels have stronger flex and if used for the first time after long use of older wheels it becomes difficult to control rebound because your muscles are not used to for newer flex line. That's why we ususally say to keep flipping the flex sides of the wheels. Newer wheels runs faster and have better grip but hard to control on very first ride. Even Pro skaters use multiple sets of wheels before competetion to use full extent of new unused sets of wheel in race.
