Great review, I ordered a few of these and I am very satisfied with them. Athearn actually tweaks the Tsunami 2 sound files to sound better. You can change a CV value to not have the models startup on when track power is applied. There are also sanding lines inside the box to be installed.
Great video! I acquired all 3 BNSF road numbers and I am very happy! I personally appreciate that Athearn assigned the boards and ground lights to functions b/c with ScaleTrains they are on upon startup by default. Also, if you set CV114 to 71 that disables the auto-start feature and you can use F26 to start up and F27 to shut down. There are still details that could be improved to match ScaleTrains quality but overall best SD70ACe in HO scale by far!

great review.... the problem i have with athearn is pulling power.... scale trains is just a better product all around .... genesis just isn't that good but are ok sent one back to lombard hobbies ( just a great family business) which could not pull well at all... but thats just me... keep up the good work and blessings to everyone !!!
No grab handles on the plow. Shitty ass Athearn handrails. Pointless removable cab roof that never sits 100 percent true. No MU jumper cable. And this is 2.0?

Those two heritage units are my favorites but my most favorite is the Katy I'm really excited to buy both
The 1982 is supposed to have a mechanical bell like the model shows. I was actually wondering if Athearn would get that right. Great review!

i thnk with a touch of black paint here and there you can fix alot of that
Bell is correct, the early UP Aces and Gevos had steel bells
Function 24 turns on the ground lights and Function 25 turns on the numberboard lights.
