Boy. Match sprinting sure has changed! When I was a match sprinter, we mounted our bikes on the line, and started when we were good and ready. We also used the whole track, and mostly rode against the railing. That allowed us to cut off the pass on the right, and made the most of the drop down the track to maximize acceleration. I could ride a whole lap looking behind me, and used the draft properly from the back position. I do admit, the times now are much faster! I was lucky to post a sub 12!
France produces great track cyclists. But if you you look at the interviews many of the French riders did after the Olympics (including Bauge) most said that the issue had more to do with technological advancements. Team GB are foremost in this respect, in training methods and tools, bikes, equipment, etc. Many of the French riders said their program in contrast always felt several months if not a year behind.
Why cant people keep their unsubstantiated allegations about who is taking drugs to themselves. If you have proof supply it to the appropriate authorities. Otherwise please keep these types of opinions to yourself. It does not do anybody, including you, any good.
Why the fuck is everyone hating on France?! They just prioritise sport less than other things.. It's a far better country than England in many respects! While England spend loads of money on technology of sport France is busy being a sustainable and economically superior.. Big woop
And then after this 'victory', Bauge's 'win' was nullified for missing a drug test a year earlier handing the title to Kenny .. and they want to talk about unfair advantages. The irony.
In the Olympics it was 1 all then Kenny beat Bauge by the slightest of margins in the last race. As you can see clearly Bauge dominated the WC 2 zip and defeating Kenny Comprehensively. Homefiled advantage to tbe Brits...yes but Rio De Janiero will be a different story.
how come sprinters wear bucket helmets? i would think with all their efforts to be aero, they would wear aero helmets. obviously theres an advantage to these helmets im missing.
lol france was one of the first and better constructor of bikes and especially road bikes in the begining an thanks to what all the french brands like peugeot created earlier, we today have verry good bikes (look is also a verry good brand)
I'm calling Shenanigans on that comment. To quote Anquetile "You can't ride the Tour de France on mineral water." Cyclists have died for a hundred years doping with amphetamines and other junk. Most cyclists would drink their own urine if they thought it would make them faster...
not really. not all cyclist take drugs. do u even know anything about cycling.i have been into cycling since i was 3 and my generation has to. and none of them took drugs. P.S they were at pro level
shows your depth of self.. in the usa velodrome cycling was the highest paying professional sport before the wars. soldier field, madison sq gardens had velodromes! now the biggest sport is nfl football which nobody in the world cares for besides americans who speak like you do.
Ha what utter nonsense you talk. Only the French are crying, other nations have more grace. Getting thrashed by the British at your national sport is too much to take? Poor French!

Look L96 + G. Bauge.
Nothing to add.
Just the rainbow colors of his suit.
Thanks for Ur Magic wheels France ;).
How does the beginning of this sport work? Why does the first guy look back at the 2nd guy? When does the race actually start?

Thanks for coming, France!
what respect and honour shown wow
@eteokles3 No, Bauge has straps, you can see them when he holds up his bike toward the end
Smart move by Bauge! He won at 2:53!
Yes, they were made in France! Merci beaucoup.
Oh, the irony!
because bucket helmets are much more protective and in the tour de france you can only wear aero helmets in time trials and stuff.
What kind of tires do they use?
they look like gumwall??

Weird set ups! Kenny rides the narrowest bar ive ever seen in track racing. And Bauge doesnt have straps. Or are they underneath the skins?
Yes, and their cleats are extremely hard to get out of.
sportmentship at the end...well done gentlemen...
it's a transponder used for the timing

les britanniques vont aussi vite que des formule 1 !!!!
do they wear cleats AND straps?
@pegasus619Q Massive torque. Someone probably got injured using one system only, I'm guessing.
I think he's wearing football wide receiver gloves, they tend to be tackier
that's a nice bike.
yes, they use no float cleats and double toe-straps just in case
And then after this 'victory', Bauge's 'win' was nullified for missing a drug test a year earlier handing the title to Kenny .. and they want to talk about unfair advantages. The irony.
That's the sprint champion what do you expect?

Hahaha Your boy took one hell of a beating.
Jealous?
The usually use Vitoria Pista Evo's or the continental counter part
what the hell are they doing at the beginning why they looking at each other?
1:16 Is that Florian Rousseau holding Baugé?
You try it aint as easy as it looks
Remember France, we have Magic Wheels :D HAHA
lol france was one of the first and better constructor of bikes and especially road bikes in the begining

DOPER
les produits "aicar" sponsor officiel de la team britannique et de la team sky !!! hahaha
you need to move your head to look around in track sprints. not so much in time trials.
If the french and english cyclists had the same drugs and the same technology at the same moment, french would win it everyday :)
Boss...
its for timing i believe
dude got tree trunks for legs.
yes
agreed
Dont Start an Argument that you cant Win france
Then why are you watching this?
tubular tyres
lol, we're just faster than you.
Doping cheat?

Never knew the french were such bad sports. Thanks France for making our wheels. HA HA HA HA
not really. not all cyclist take drugs. do u even know anything about cycling.i have been into cycling since i was 3 and my generation has to. and none of them took drugs. P.S they were at pro level
To annoy you.
