Hunter Zolomon, otherwise known as Zoom, is a fictional supervillain appearing in comic books published by DC Comics. The second character to assume the Reverse-Flash mantle, he serves as the archenemy of Wally West (the third superhero to be called the Flash).

@@k4mmi303 There is a reason behind why Zoom (Hunter Zolomon) copies the Reverse Flash's suit.
In his quest to make The Flash a "better hero," he strives to be his opposite, his Thawne, his Joker.
He does this due to the fact that he believes Wally refused to change the past because he didn't experience enough hardship/opposition to push him that far.
While to other characters this seems insane, it makes sense on a meta level.
In comics, or even in literature as a whole, more tragic figures like Batman or Ken Kaneki tend to be the most determined, due to having suffered so much in the past.
When a protagonist experiences hardship, they become more relatable to readers. Some might even say that they became a better hero after experiencing pain.
That's why he takes on Thawne's costume, to challenge Wally like he challenged Barry, to make him a better hero.

@@HWL4Life Zoom in the comics exists in his own Personal Timeline that he controls. He can speed up his timeline giving him the effects of super speed. This makes him go as fast as he wants. Think of it like the Time Force, he fast forwards his timeline which causes himself to speed up.
He doesn't have these powers anymore though and is now powered by the Speed force
Stop Breathing is if he has the power to speed and slow down time to whatever speed he wants how did he get defeated couldn’t he just slow time down more?
@@HWL4Life He doesn't slow time down for everyone. He can only manipulate his own timeline. He typically only slows his timeline down to talk but even then he's still vibrating and his words sound liiiiiikkkke Thissssssss. Like a snake trying to talk. His powers are essentially OP.
He only lost because he isn't your typical villain in the sense. All he wanted to do was make Wally a better hero by making him experience tragedies.
He's OP though, He once kicked Wonder Woman from America to Paris with one kick

By far the best Flash villain. Instead of just being an evil Flash he has an unique power set and is truly a dangerous challenge for any Flash. You can’t just go faster against a man who controls time. God I wish they would dump Eobard and bring back Hunter with his original power set.

I love this video.😊 thank you for making it. Hunter Zolomon is one of my favorite characters, and you did him justice in this video. I love how you talk about both the comic and TV versions of Hunter Zolomon and how different those versions are from each other.
Also, it was revealed that Ashley Zolomen was the one who got Hunter discharged from the F.B.I.; she very much regrets that. Ashley admitted to a comatose Hunter that she was the one who got him discharged from the F.B.I. and helped destroy his life.
A character related to Hunter that I really am interested in tragically never lived up to her potential is Hunter's ex-wife Ashley Zolomon. Ashley Zolomon is a character that is just as interesting as Hunter and suffered as much tragedy as him, and while she didn’t break like her ex-husband, she’s been through a lot. Ashley Zolomon lost her father because of her husband's mistake, divorced her husband, and months later found out that her husband became a supervillain. She gave up her career at the FBI to help her husband. Aside from making peace with Wally West, she could not help her husband and unfortunately disappeared because of the reboot, though she reappeared in Flash #800.
I said it before, but Ashley Zolomon is a character with a lot of potential. Unfortunately, she never lived to her potential because of her limited appearances, mainly because of the reboots. People don’t understand the sacrifice Ashley Zolomon made for her ex-husband. Ashley Zolomon was a member of the FBI, and it showed that she was the best of the best even if it wasn’t stated, and she just walked away from her career to take a position that’s implied to be beneath her to help her ex-husband. Ashley Zolomon only said that her new job with a step down from her career at the FBI in Quantico; I really wish that we had enough time to get her thoughts on her giving up her job at the FBI, and also not mentioned Ashley Zolomon must have friends and colleagues at the FBI, how would she have felt having to give up those relationships to get a new job that’s beneath her and how would they think about Ashley Zolomon throwing away her career to help her ex-husband. There, Ashley Zolomon's view of the divorce, it was made clear that Ashley views leaving Hunter as a terrible mistake and feels great guilt, she also made it clear that she will never leave Hunter again, and it’s implied that when she reformed him, she will remarry him. I would’ve loved to see Alshely's thoughts on her divorce before Hunter transformed into a supervillain and see her learn of Hunter's transformation and her decision to leave the FBI to help Hunter.
I just wanted to mention this character because I’m also a big fan of Ashley Zolomon, and I hope she reappears soon in comics and gets a proper story. I wish someone would make a video of her, but I’m not sure if there’s enough info on this character for a video. But again, thank you for making this great video.

If anyone sees this how come they made zoom different in the tv show? Isn’t he supposed to be yellow and kind of looks up to Eobard thawn so he takes up the role as him but calls him self zoom just like the first reverse flash.

Its probably because they never had any plans on making Wally the next generation Flash, so having two enemies that wore the same suit for Barry was weird. I think they should have skipped Zoom and had him in an episode like when they showed John Jr. as the Green Arrow and did the same with Wally as the Flash fighting Zoom.

Also, in my opinion, the Dark Phoenix movie was badass. Not perfect, but still pretty good. The ending battle was everything
Markel Scott the Last Stand did the Phoenix saga HORRIBLY. This film was such a step up it made the Last Stand look pathetic in comparison. The scenes with Jean in emotional turmoil were the most heartbreaking to see. It was beautiful

The lightning is supposed to be fractures in time that you can see through but when it’s not zoomed (pun) in then it just looks like lightning

This version of Zoom wasn’t NEARLY as scary as CW Zoom was in season 2. Eric Wallace ruined the character in season 9.

Zoom has more advantage in speed, but RF has the ability to time travel, not sure if RF would want to murder someone who considers his legacy though
@@HypocriticalLies Doubt it. It amused the hell of him that he created a legacy centuries before he was born. And then there's that recent retcon that he caused the death of Zoom's father in law, his handicap, being fired from the FBI, and divorce, but I don't really like that retcon.

i don't like the DC version of zoom. he has that stupid, annoying "i think i was gypped by the hero so i'm going to destroy their life" origin compounded by an obsession with making the flash "better" that gets old really fast. his CW counterpart was far more ambitious in his methods, goals, and design. in the comics they couldn't even be bothered to give him a different costume from the reverse flash. also, being truly evil (CW) always makes for better results than just making the villain a delusional dipshit.
Nah. I think the comic version is more interesting and complex. Just making him an evil speedster when that was Thawne's niche took a bit from the character.
