It's not fair that the Reverse Flash gets to take so many liberties with the timeline and fuck shit up as much as he wants, but Barry goes back in time and blinks, and suddenly, the fate of the world is at stake.
Maybe the timeline does change, but it doesn't matter to Thawne

He talks about it in the comics. Thawne has a lot of practice doing it and he told Barry that he didn't know how to PROPERLY make changes to the timeline until somewhere around the end of the Rebirth run.

No, the joker is way more demented. I believe if the joker was in thawne’s position he would’ve erased himself from existence if it meant that Barry doesn’t become the flash. Thawne isn’t the most evil because he really wants to be seen as the good guy that’s why he couldnt let himself be erased. It’s not about beating the flash. It’s about being the good guy in the history books. If history doesn’t play in a favorable way for him he changes it.

Thawne's Negative Speed Force allows him to time travel and affect events in the past. Unlike Barry's Speed Force, which when he time traveled to alter the past, helped cause the events of Flashpoint. Also, in theory, because Thawne can alter the past, he would be a living paradox, like the Time Trapper from Legion of Superheroes!

The way that I make sense of the confusing fact of “how could thawne have gone back in time if his original self was failing anyways and NEEDED the help of the reverse flash to succeed?” Parallel universes may explain the beginning of his origin story. There must’ve been one universe where thawne made it all the way to become reverse flash, and from then on he kept going back to help himself.

A small correction. Barry snapped Professor Zoom's neck when Eobard tried to kill Fiona Webb, his second fiance, and not Iris. He was actually successful in killing Iris, but her consciousness was saved due to bullshit time travel science. Bronze Age of Comic Books was pretty fun.

The king of time paradoxes. He’s everywhere in every second of time due to the fact of his obsession with time travel.
Out of all the reverse flashs, none of them have ever had it out for me more then Zoom. The reason he prefers to be called just a reverse flash is because in his timeline, Zoom was the greatest and most hated villain, and finding out that he was destined to be the most hated person in the world deviated him. So he calls himself reverse flash to try to separate himself from who he already became, even going as far as to create Hunter Zolomon Zoom, hoping that he could take his place as the real Zoom, but when people found out that Hunter Zolomon was a rogue cop pretending to be Zoom, they just called him Hunter Zoom. Eobard Thawne is Zoom, Hunter Zolomon is Hunter Zoom, and Enershia Thawne is Kid Zoom, the first reverse kid flash, in a second attempt to keep himself from becoming who he already was. Zoom, the most villainous of the reverse flashs throughout the time lines. No matter what he does, no matter how hard he tries, he will only make it much more certain every time.
I’m glad DCU Online calls him Professor Zoom, his full villain title. He even say’s you better remember it.

Rex Gui paradox, a time loop with no beginning or end, that future Reverse Flash who erased everyone from the timeline also had a reverse flash from the future to do the same for him and that reverse had a reverse flash and etc. that’s why he could never die and is the reason why he still survived even when Barry snapped his neck after trying to kill Iris.
Rex Gui he’s the generator of the negative SpeedForce he can alter time w out having much effect on himself and plus after Flashpoint he became a paradox so he’s basically immortal even after Dr.Manhattan killed him he came back to life

I still don’t understand though. What made thawne truly hate Barry? From the beginning it seemed like he admired him. Wanting to be in the flash museum and study everything there was to know about the flash. What changed that made thawne see the flash as “His greatest enemy”. Was it because Barry got in his way once, or that Barry was stealing his popularity as the flash?

With what I understood. Its a paradox. He became the Flash's biggest enemy because the Flash tried to stop him because he was his biggest enemy before he jumped in time. Therefore making the future profesor zoom to realize that the Flash was his biggest enemy. Which would make the Flash stop him. And so on
Surely demoralizing Barry successfully would change his legacy and probably the flash museum too most likely affecting the creation of this reverse flash. So did thawnes efforts create the Barry we know? If thawne decides not to inflict these traumatic events could he himself cease to exist? Unknowingly stuck in a hatred fueled time lock of self preservation...

Thawne is and always will be the quintessential nemesis of the flash. To hate someone that much is insane. And to commit that cardinal sin that altered Barry Allen's life forever is completely inhuman. Revenge in reverse. But I don't believe he sees The Flash as the villain. Rather, he's angry at fate. He's obsessively worked towards replicating the methods by which Barry Allen became The Flash. He's the fanboy gone SEVERELY wrong, losing sight of what The Flash stood for and only focusing on what he could do. And I've always believed the anger that he feels is really directed inward. He's left himself NOTHING ELSE outside of his obsession with The Speed Force. He lived in a time where there was no need for superheroes and it wasn't enough for him. He longed for yesterday, in an age of heroes and conflicts that have become myths by the time he is born. Every child needs an outlet, but Eobard took his hero worship of The Flash to unhealthy levels. Hell, he even had his face reconstructed to look like Barry Allen's in one version of his origin after achieving his speed. But the only common thread of EVERY ORIGIN is Barry Allen was his hero. He initially went back in time to meet him so he could get his autograph. The problem was he was inexperienced with time travel and the treadmill he used to get there didn't go back further enough, and wound up in the past during Wally West's run as The Flash. It's there that he discovered a) he was destined to become The Reverse-Flash, and b) die by Barry Allen's hand. Just because he got a sneak preview of his destiny does not mean that he did not have choices. He could've turned away from it but instead chose to go with it because deep down he knows the flash would not be as great a hero without the ultimate nemesis. It's the only way he sees as being RELEVANT. But I now also believe that it's self-serving. If he would not be drawn to the flash is legend, and ultimately the speed force, there would be no reverse flash. Thawne wanted to create his own life, his own identity, and yet he wound up with a contradiction and he doesn't even realize it. He has no life outside of the reverse flash and obsessively tormenting the man he once admired. It's a self-destructive cycle that is a perpetual loop.

the reason he survived is because he is from the future so if he dies before he's born he's just born again and it keeps going on and on until he dies in his time. So eobard can never die unless its in his own time, not barry's.

Reverse Flash and Dr.Cold are completely different cases, although its the same topic about dying in another time, Eobard has his own manipulated speed force he can manipulate the timeline as much as he wants until the time wraiths track him, he has speed because of science not the speed force itself, therefore, the speed force can't control anything with him, So basically he doesn't need to follow the speed forces rules. He has his own.
