I totally agree with you! As part of school experience on my degree, I went to every staff meeting being held and still found it tricky to find 'my spot'! Eventually, a group of year 5 and 6 teachers adopted me during lunch breaks and I started to socialise with them a meetings.
Aw, loved this Katie! Your classroom is absolutely GOALS! :) can you do a video on resources and lesson ideas please on topics/year groups etc please? Any hands-on learning/kinaesthetic, engaging ideas will be fab! Also, what is the exit ticket for and how is it used please?
Thank you! I know it’s a little cheesy but I really like the new room so who cares. I’d love to collaborate I know we’ve been discussing it for a while now! I challenge you to post a messy classroom video. It can’t be that bad right? (I will if you do!) 😅
Thank you! Since these clips it’s definitely grown and has more personality. Lots more work, mess & many creations! I’m going to post an update very soon. Are you a teacher too? ☺️
I am SO happy! I just got accepted for work experience at my junior school, they only accept one person so I'm over the moon. Any advice or tips to impress the teacher? And what should I expect? Am I allowed in the staff room? :) Amazing classroom, btw!
Happy to hear this news! I bet you’re so excited. I would say use your initiative, don’t always wait around for instructions. Sit with small groups, support children that look a bit lost. Try to remember not to be their best friend, but a good role model. Yes you will be allowed in the staff room too :) Anything else? Happy to help!
My next video is top tips for classroom management / behaviour so hopefully it’ll be useful for you. Anything you want to learn from in particular? (I’m not perfect of course, still learning too. But hopefully picked up something in my 6+ years of teaching..!)
Thanks for this video, this really helps. The elements presented in the classroom link to children's learning curriculum as well.
This is where I went to school! Feels so nice to see the rugs again, learnt a lot sitting on them.
