I was wondering if as a teacher u have too do a lot of marking ? I’ve got a ta her who was previously a primary’s school teacher and she said you’d have to give feedback per each subject everyday. that’s a big demand and idk if I could do that
Loving the new classroom. Looks like there are some great areas for children to learn. I wonder what makes the best learning environment...perhaps this might make a great future vlog!
Thank you for this! I hope to film more videos of classroom learning environments in the future. It seems other teachers find this kind of information useful ☺️
Don't know if it's still useful for you. The Chinese sticker "凱蒂“ is the translation for your name alright (in Mandarin). Pronounced Kai Di with the accent on Di.
Your classroom looks so amazing and I love the idea of challenge boxes! I'm in my first ever classroom and unfortunately due to repairs over summer I only had one afternoon to get in and sort it before the children arrived so although I've kept it very clean and functional it feels very bare and mismatched (I've had to rely on a lot of hand-me-downs from kind colleagues). How much time did you spend setting up your first room, and how long did it take to really feel like you'd put your stamp on it?
Oh no! That's such a shame. I hope you get it sorted asap! I'd say it felt "set up" after 2 days, but felt like a "classroom" once it was filled with kids! It never feels real before they arrive. What age will you be teaching? Don't rely on hand-me-downs forever, make some great resources that will last you 😍
@@ForTeachersChannel Yeah, it's definitely true the kids bring all the life to it :) I'm teaching Year 4 with a particularly rowdy bunch this year as I impressed with my behaviour management during student teaching. My room is slowly coming together now but it feels like there's never more than a second to work on it with all the behaviour, marking and acctually teaching aha!
Love the i see, i think etc! So good to start a topic! I was wondering if you could do a video about tips with dealing with bullying (as in members of your class bullying each other)?
This is definitely an area I would like to explore on the channel. You'd be surprised how many requests i've had to make behaviour management content with a focus on bullying. I'll gather some of my own ideas and speak to some specialists and get back to you! And thank you for watching 😀
Less is always more. If we look at an evidence based approach to classroom environments, I'm amazed how many teachers plaster their walls with "stuff", no research indicates this is conducive to learning at all. Finland follows this research approach. Look at their outcomes. Enough said.
Did the children use the challenge boxes appropriately straight away or did it take a lot of monitoring/encouragement? Just curious if everyone went straight for the cool challenge initially, or genuinely differentiated themselves :) Thank you!
It takes a LOT of encouragement at the start! There will always be children who want the easy challenge so they feel instant gratification, and some who want to compete with their peers for the hardest challenge. After a while they begin to select something more appropriate with guidance. A lot of my students go to view the challenges first before making a selection. Let me know if you try this or something similar in your own classroom! :)
Hi your videos are amazing . I would love to see a video on differentiation . I am currently a 5-11 PGCE Student and I will be starting my placement in a few weeks. Any advice videos you have for showing progress in the classroom, differentiation, planning etc would be very much appreciated . Also, your classroom looks amazing and I love the map with all the drawings of the endangered animals. Brilliant idea 😊😊 x
Thank you for the lovely feedback! We have drafted some videos on these topics and will be releasing them soon. Until then feel free to send any questions to us @forteachers and we will help out there! Good luck with your upcoming placement ☺️☺️
@@ForTeachersChannel thank you so much!! I'm with year 4 which I'm really happy about. Panicking about subject knowledge though. I feel ok with the behaviour management side , but if you have any tips on best ways to revise all the subject knowledge then I would really appreciate it . KS2 maths makes me nervous!! Thanks so much again for getting back to me xx
I remember feeling the exact same way about maths. My subject knowledge was limited at best. It’s all fine though I promise you learn so much in the first couple of years! I feel so much more confident now. Keep us posted on the journey x
I teach Year 3! In the past i've taught Year 5 & 4. What age do you teach? Welcome to the channel! I hope you'll find some inspiration in one of our playlists ☺
Hi Rosie! I teach in Hong Kong, so technically neither! However I trained for three years in the UK, then worked for three years in the UK before moving out here. Is there anything else you’d like me to explain? I know this video can be confusing, I’m trying to show how I still teach elements of the British curriculum in a new county ☺️
oh ok!! I noticed that some of the strategies you used looked so similar to PYP....I was wanting to use some of the ideas you had in your video!! lol...you know how teachers are---always looking to steal ideas!! what would you say are the major differences in education systems between the UK and Hong Kong?? It's very fascinating!!
We are actually uploading a video very soon that is specifically about the differences between the two! I teach PYP currently so I guess I use strategies from both ☺️
Hiii I am 14 and I really want to be a teacher your channel really helps get a good idea of what teaching is like thank you xxx ❤️

I love your lights. 🌸
Thank you! My room wouldn’t be the same without them 🌟🌟
Wish my teachers looked like that

Great Channel for Teachers
Please can you do a video about the cool hot warm!
Yes definitely, working on a series about differentiation at the moment! X
