Ah thank you for the kind words, it means so much to us! We are happy to have you here as part of the For Teachers community. Where will you be studying?
Hi Michael. Thanks for checking out the video. It’s a shame you have this opinion of teachers! I will continue to provide the best education I can to my students. I’ve learnt a lot about teaching over the last 5 years and the feelings that others have about the job. I know I made an excellent career choice and enjoy every minute of what I do - even the tough days! I hope you are as content with your own career choices as I am with mine. Be sure to check our Instagram if you’d like to find out more about our teaching journey. @forteachers
I wish you well as you move on to the next chapter of your life. Oh also, I hope you don’t encourage your student to leave hurtful comments or messages on people’s creations, or to judge others by their appearance. I work hard on my teacher channel and must admit I was a little sad to read your message. Thankfully this channel has a positive following so I won’t take too much offence to it - but please be aware that negative messages can impact the feelings of others! But I truly wish you well wherever you end up next. Katie
For Teachers Well thank you very much. I hope you are really this thoughtful in the school you work in and not contribute to the backbiting, the bullying culture, and negativity that exists in schools. Remember you wouldn't encourage your students to say hurtful comments to others so I sincerely hope you aren't going to be one of those demonic but smiling entities that gossip about colleagues and whatnot. Please practise what you preach here.
For Teachers And as for the comments that I've made, if you don't want people sharing their views, don't allow for comments. I certainly hope you will tolerate different views in schools as well. Isn't that what the 'tolerant left' is about.
I knew I wanted to be a teacher after working in a children's play centre. I was amazed when I realised that they would all stand up or sit down when I asked them to! It was definitely a shock swapping the dance parties for a classroom setting. I now know that teaching was the best choice for me and i'm amazed at where my journey has taken me so far!
It's so refreshing to find a channel that highlights the positive aspect of teaching. I want to be a primary teacher. I'm a HLTA at the moment and want to do the school direct route. Got my degree - will have to do the equivalency test for maths. New subbie 🙂
heyy I need to do my equivalency tests too both for science and maths [science because i wasn't aware this course require science until i started searching for unis] do you think it's worth it? primary education and also do you have any tips for the equivalency test please ..I'm in my final year of highschool and will soon have to search for uni and do you have any site suggestion for the test that is well recognised please
Thank you so much for this. I was just about to apply for a teaching masters to add onto my performing arts degree and this just gave me the extra push to do it. You guys are so positive and give off such a wonderful and loving vibe. It is obvious you love your jobs. Thank you!
Thank you for leaving such a positive comment. I'm glad we can do our bit for the teaching community. Good luck with everything, here if you have any questions! x
I only ever wanted to be a teacher so I did a lot of volunteering in schools from qyite young. I loved how different each day was and the relationships you build with the staff, children and community x
I think volunteering is sometimes forgotten about - more high schools should give you the chance to go and experience this! I found it tricky to take time out while at college to help out in my old school. Got there in the end though! 👍🏼💡

I can’t complain about the holidays. We need it! But yes, throughout the term we put in a lot of hours (currently working on report cards on a Sunday night). 😫 Glad I stumbled upon your channel. I have a teaching channel too and it’s nice to discover new ones. New subscriber here! 😄👍
Thank you so much for your comment, and for subscribing! We know that teaching is one of those all consuming jobs (we absolutely appreciate the Sunday evening marking party...) but at the same time there aren’t many jobs that reward you with such a long holiday! We will check out your channel now. Thanks for the support! For Teachers 💡
Thank you!! We have so many ideas we want to share and it's great to have positive people on board. Maybe one day you can try one of our "teacher challenges" and share the video with us! We appreciate the support :) Katie and Ryan
We love having you over here on our channel! We want to support all trainee teachers and shed some positive light on the profession. Stay tuned for this weeks video. It’s sure to make you laugh!
Great work - you’re right about making a difference! Knowing that your job is directly helping others is an amazing feeling. Good luck on your journey and be sure to message us any questions along the way!
Darin Nakakihara Thanks for popping by to check out the videos! We will be browsing through your channel for some inspiration ourselves (hope that’s okay!) Everything looks so professional over there. How long have you been uploading to RUclips? And where do you teach? ☺️
Hi, Katie and Ryan, I am currently on my last year of undergraduate degree, and hopefully be doing pgce next year. One thing I am very worried about is the fact that I am an introvert and doesn’t talk a lot( currently I am working at nursery one day a week, and I feel like I can not handle too many kids) but I don’t want to work with nursery kids, I want to work with y1 or y2. Also my English isn’t too good so that stress me out even more😔
Hey! Try not to worry, confidence is something that takes a while to gain around children. It’s so strange standing at the front of a class. I promise it’ll get easier! It’s good that you’re gaining experience in a nursery. Is there any way you can volunteer somewhere with older children too? Good luck with everything!
Angela Orlando Ah that’s so good that your job turned into a true passion! We love working as ex. pat teachers in Hong Kong. I also think that teachers are generally positive people so that helps too :) keep up the good work Angela! ☺️
Hi! Thanks so much for stopping by my channel and subscribing! I've subscribed to your channel as well and I'm looking forward to watching your youtube journey! =D
Thanks for taking a look at our videos! We have so much planned for 2018 as i'm sure you do too. How long have you been posting teaching related RUclips videos? We have received some positive feedback from the teaching community so i'm really excited to get to know everyone better. Do you enjoy teaching in Virginia? We're finding that our experience of teaching in Hong Kong is very different to the UK. I guess it's different all around the world but everyone shares a common interest - inspiring the kids!
I started youtube not too long ago--back towards the end of October to early November timeframe! I started a teaching channel not knowing a large the teaching community on youtube was! It was such a pleasant surprise and it's been a wonderful experience learning from and supporting other educators on youtube. =)
That's helpful to know! I'm finding plenty of American teacher style vlogs but less for the UK. Hopefully I can network and connect from educators from all over the world. I'll be watching your journey - I hope you pop by here from time to time too! Katie :)
Can you do a video on what to expect on your first day teaching in UK. What happens, activities, curriculum that sort of thing. On my placements I have never attended the first day
Hi Aimee! We have this (almost) exact video plan drafted, to be recorded very soon! I also have a first year of teaching Q&A going up on Thursday. If there is anything in particular you want in the first day video, let us know. We are going to try and talk about the first day based on lots of different teachers experiences and offer example lessons, activities etc. I hope this will help :) where will you be teaching in September?
Thank you! I’ll let you know when we post it. I hope you have a great time studying in Lincolnshire. Let us know if you have any questions before then!
You may not reply. I am doing my GCSE in 5 months and I have put my self forward for teacher training;and I hope to complete my apprenticeship and then go to university to get my teaching degree and end up teaching primary school teacher!
I will support you along the journey! Feel free to send a dm on Instagram any time you need support. Good luck with everything. It’ll be tough but so worth it! Katie xx
Yes of course! I have lots of friends who are dyslexic or have dyscalculia, it won’t hold you back. It might be a slight barrier at the start but you will learn to adapt I promise. If you have a personal struggle with language or number it can encourage you to provide many different ways for a child to understand a concept, as you know that certain methods don’t work for yourself. You’ve got this! When will you study?
@@ForTeachersChannel Thanks for the reply, i really appreciate it. Hopefully i will be going university next year but i dont exactly know what course to do.
what qualifications do I need to become a teacher in the future? i’m 16 and really want to be a teacher , I got all the grades at gcse and don’t know what to do next x
I don't know about the BTEC route, but I did A levels and 3 passes in any subject (I did art, biology and psychology) will get you in! It's more about your interview and experience :)
Hey Manzal! What country do you live in? In the UK there are a few routes. We made a video called ‘routes into teaching’ which I think may be helpful for you. If you need extra info, please comment here and ask any questions you have!
Thanks so much for uploading this to RUclips this is brilliant
starting my pgce primary in september. I love this channel. always searched for something like this x

Do you think a person should become a primary teacher if they are not good at maths and english, like really bad (dyslexic)???

Yes! You get a monthly wage so you’d still get a payout over the summer. It’s a real perk of the job!
Hi, I was thinking of becoming a primary school teacher when I am 18 or 20. What would I need in order to become a teacher? Also this video was great!
