I enjoyed the "Carnivore Summit", and I found your comment the most important. "If you are not in ketosis, you are not on a ketogenic diet". This is especially important if using therapeutic ketosis to battle cancer (Dr. Thomas Seyfried)
I also loved the carnivore summit! I love Nutrition with Judy, Judy Cho! I went carnivore in May of this year and lost 9 pounds. Might not sound like a huge deal, but I was at a plateau with my weight and couldn’t get the scale to budge for several months. I felt my best but also felt really restricted. I started to follow a standard keto diet, but mostly ketovore. When I was on the carnivore diet, I was drinking dairy, eating eggs, cheese and milk…and I wasn’t tracking macros at all…just because I went carnivore didn’t mean I was in a state of ketosis. I wasn’t checking my blood glucose or ketone strips. It took a lot of adjustments in order to get my macros on point. I do a lot of repeat meals in my diet today. Otherwise I’d get off track but her program (the 21-day Metabolic Kick) taught me so much and I’m sticking to a new plan, the best I can using her principles❤

I totally agree. My husband Buus all my clothes... & usually he likes solid colors. When he brought this home, I thought it would not be a keeper... I was wrong

I realized an important fact that I has heard time and time again.........that carbs and sugars are inflammatory........I would be doing keto just fine and then I'd cheat ......with some rice or a coke or rolls, and the next day I'd have gained a notch and sometimes two on my belt......... There was no way 200- 300 grams of carbs would cause that much weight gain ......then I realized what these doctors on U-tube were saying. ...I was swelling up because of the glucose!!!!!!!! After a day back again on the proper human diet the swelling was gone!!!!!.......I am so happy and grateful for this life changing and saving information.......day by day they confirm that they know what you are talking about.......thanks so much Dr. Boz........👍🩺🥩🐟🧄🥗💯🚴🍳🧀🍤🍵😊

Ive been following you for a while, and i cannot thank you enough for how you've helped me get healthy. No more blood pressure meds, no more pain in my joints, no more brain fog. I literally feel new, except the heart palpitations im still trying to figure out. And, you seem to be going backwards in age since I first saw you, and if you dont mind me saying, you are beautiful. Dr. Boz another great video. I have found that I struggle getting into Ketosis since I’m doing radiation therapy. I can pee pink, but no purple. My blood sugars range between 100 and 130. It especially goes up after my radiation treatment. I have been limiting my carbs to less that 20 total carbs per day. I use to do 20 net carbs. Thank you again for the work you are doing for this community. Enjoy your time at Ketopalooza.

Just landed in Louisville… This late-night arrival was not the original plan.
I learned that you can’t always gauge progress with urine test strips. I did the Atkins diet decades ago. Got the test strips weeks into the diet and was really discouraged when I only got a purple result one time. I was absolutely certain I was staying around 10 grams of carbs a day. I was loosing weight, but I got fixated on the color of the test strip. What I didn’t realize is that as you adapt to burning ketones as primary fuel, you won’t spill as many into urine. So the test strip will be lighter pink.
The test strips are useful if you start using them from the very beginning of keto and can be motivating. But after you start adapting, blood testing is the best way to keep tabs.
Yes, I didn’t get them for months, and was so disappointed. Then I thought hey, my clothes are falling off this must be working and continued.
i lost almost 8 kg in 1 month so far, feeling so good and full of energy. But its hard stating in ketosis - i still crave sugars ALOT.

When I was doing keto with lots of veggies I used to get crazy cravings - I've now cut veggies almost entirely and concentrate on meat, eggs, high fat dairy and now get zero cravings and find it easy to eat just once or twice a day - I've lost over 50kg now
@@georgemoonman2830Amazing achievement. And interesting about cravings dissapearing on carnivore. It must mean that there's an ideal portion of fat and protein to reach satiation, or simply veggies spike insulin levels.
I have found that high protein also kicks me out of ketosis, even in the absence of carbs.
That has happened to me too in the past when I did this, and I think I was eating too much protein. Good luck!

I honestly still can’t imagine how on earth anyone could count carbs….they are in everything, so I aim at none hoping that doesn’t take me over. I am leaning more and more towards carnivore because I don’t have to think. However I really don’t even like meat that much but will eat it if I am hungry enough I guess.

except exogenous ketones taking... which activates negative feedback loop on lipolisis. maybe that's why she is not too skinny so far... at least it's arguable... but all the rest - ofc she is fine)
@okritsky I agree that it's a bad idea except maybe to get thru a fast OR in the first weeks trying to get fat adapted. I occasionally use mct oil to stimulate my body to manufacture my own ketones

PS: I've read your book about your mom, have eliminated carbs from my house, started keto last week, got a glucose monitor and ketone strips...in the first week I lost 7.9lbs! 🎉
I thought I was on a keto diet, but after watching your videos and buying the Keto-Mojo meter I found I was not, and when I did get into ketosis I lost what I'd not been able to for years. I'm. now at the weight I was when I married at age 27, 40 years ago! Thanks, not to get my brother to listen to you. He's very heavy and I told him a month ago that he must be diabetic, he didn't believe me. But, his rheumatologist told him to see his primary care physician because his cholesterol was high, and low and behold, he's diabetic. But it's a steep curve to get straight on this, very much because most of the medical industry doesn't talk like Dr. Boz.
What was keeping you out of ketosis and what did you change?

Please answer this: I’ve been carnivore 1 year but this past month been high fat carnivore. My blood ketones hover at 0.4 and glucose 95-100. This morning I made a brown sugar and butter toffee dessert. Two hours after eating a lot of it but also had a fatty lamb chop, my ketones were 1.6 and glucose 88. Why did this happen? I’m so confused?
Dear Dr Boz, is there any way I can email you with some questions? I can only imagine how busy you are! Im 56, 5 ft 5in at 145 so not a bad weight. Im ketovore with a macular degeneration diagnosis at 50 and SIBO the year but not sure if I’ve gotten rid of it. I’ve had symptoms of mild vertigo, subtle periodic ear ringing, regurge with food but supplement and ACV helps, regular brain fog, and an injured knee. Im just overwhelmed with info and not sure what tests to get(like re test of SIBO, endoscopy, ent???). You’ve done so much with brain research but not even sure I have the time or focus I’m my brain to even get through one of your courses, not to mention I’m in small town Nebraska and not impressed with the doctors in general! I’ve taken some keto mojo data and it seems the only way for me to get a BG under 100 is like you suggest closing my eating window quite early. My typical am reading is in the 90’s!! Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!!! God bless you and all you do to help people reach optimal health! when my blood ketone is 1.5 or over, my pee strips do not show any as my body is using those ketones right ? ...I used to get frustrated as the color wasnt changing either until I bought a keto mojo and saw that I was indeed in ketosis and no longer peeing them out :)
IMHO pee strips are useful only as an indicator in the initial stages of being in ketosis. With progress blood or breath readings become more reliable indicators of ketosis. This subject is covered in chapter 8 of Jimmy Moore’s book ‘Keto Clarity’.
Dr Boz, I have been keto 5 years and carnivour 1 year. I have tested for Alc and Blood sugars with continious monitor and all very good. I want to get a continuous monitor for ketones and glucose but there does not seem to be such a thing. The only ones I can find require strips. I understand keytone strips for me are a waste af time as I do not pee ketones I use them. What are you useing? And why do you use ketone strips. Is it a monitor or a monitor that is somehow based on strips?
So I need a cortisol meter or pee strip? Where how to measure cortisol at home?
I cant eat eggs . what do you recommend instead of eggs?
Dr.Berg suggested that in the beginning you register ketones in the urine, but eventually your body becomes very efficient at processing ketones and doesn't tend to produce or waste extra ketones. I've experienced this myself. Blood ketone testing is the only way to know for sure. Not sure about the breath testers.
I agree with you Jeff...when I am deep in ketosis I stop peeing them out so the sticks do not change color ...I have a breathmeter also and its very inaccurate..keto mojo is the way to go in my opinion :)
I have tested this several times and always produce peetones along with BHB. This is over 4 years of being in ketosis everyday..
Dr.Boz I feel like I am stuck. I’m confused, and freaked out. I am 20 years old, I’m a calisthenics athlete who is passionate about strength exercises and I don’t want to take a statin. However my total cholesterol was around 300 before I went keto. My trygicerides around 100 and my HDL around 60 and total LDL was around 240. Idk what kind of LDL good or bad but my doctor says I’m screwdwdd if o don’t take a statin. The internet says I’m screwed if I do keto. But I am 4 weeks into Ketosis anyway and I actually feel much better, more energy, my Brian feels sharp im even stronger. But I’m almost sure next time I check my cholesterol it’s going to be through the roof and of extreme concern to my doctor. Am I in danger? Like how can I still try to build muscle and excel in my goals and not have to worry about a heart attack. Is keto safe for me or am I just destined for a life of statin induced muscle pain. Without much benefit
