- I cross the border into Idaho and find myself in some dire situations. Another great camp spot and a cold lake dive.

I ride my 2006 KTM 990 Adventure with side cases at times, but prefer the soft bags. I’ve done the whole tip over and land with the handlebars/seat downhill. In those situations, I’ve found it’s nice to take a minute, catch your breath, strip off a layer or three, do the same with the bike (saddlebags and such) then do the less heavy lifting. Lol We’ve all done it or will soon!
These instances of unintentional training aren’t bad. If nothing else it’ll motivate a guy to lighten his load-out, in the future. (Bikes size too) These trips flush out the unnecessary items. I’d probably entertain a smaller, lighter bike, but….$$$ ya know?
I am definitely going for soft bags next trip. All good learning experiences from pure frustration lol.
The truth about moto travelling No cuts over the bad things. No filters. 💪
Indeed lol thx for the support.
Exciting! Mitch back on the T7 whoohooo!
Tip: look into a motowinch if you don't want to pickup the T7. I store it in the tank bag. Cheers.
I have seen them I may just have to lol.
You are most definitely a trooper . I know tbe feeling of dumping my Tenere 700 in front of people eating at a busy downtown area in Santa Cruz California . Hadn't ridden in 14 months and she's a tippy girl but rider error was to blame .
That one dump in the bushes at least the landing looked softer . That was some more tricky conditions for sure .
Oh boy, that was an adventurous day! you must have been sore the next day.
Yes.. I was sore that night lol. Luckily I didn't have to pick up the bike the next day.
Man I felt sorry for you, very entertaining none the less. Thanks for sharing 😊
Thx, , and what you see is a few minutes of the hours I spent on that track lol 😳😳😳
Good to see you back on a T7
Thx 😀
Tough day Mitch! But kudos for getting out there👍
Thx😀
BDR-Back Dirt Road 😂
Update your Inreach. You have to give it the correct sat information periodically or it will struggle to find signal. How are you finding the Osmo? I looked at those but couldn't figure out a way to run audio and power into it for longer videos.
Ya I have updated it, always does the same thing. Osmo is awesome! Batteries last for ages over shit pro. The audio I just bought a USB c Mike and it just plugs in. So much more reliable than shit pro.
Ya sorry not sure how you would do audio and charge 🤷🏼
you just need to be more like like Pol and fly over the bad bits :)
Oh man, so happy the crashes are back! How do you have so much time off from work? Did you hit the lottery?
Lol I'm not 😳just lucky work schedule 😀
@@TrippinwithMitch I actually just sold my T7 about a month ago. I ride a lot solo, and felt too vulnerable when things went wrong. And here I thought you were being a wimp picking it up, but I owe you an apology. They are tough to pick up on anything outside of ideal conditions.
Thank God xou are a strong guy😅. But don't use a Top case😖
I need it for charging all my stuff 😳
Nooo, take a softcase🙏
I will for the side bags for sure.
I applaud your dedication and drive but damn dude. You simply do not have the off-road skills to do this type of trip on your own. You need a partner to help you or some more seat time on smaller bike without luggage to practice the basics. I know riding a heavy bike in sand is not easy but drops 3, 4 and especially 5 were just from being uncomfortable. You are working the clutch way too much because you’re scared. You shouldn’t be revving the bike so much with the clutch pulled in while barely moving. You need to keep your momentum and keep chugging along. You are setting yourself up for injury riding way outside your skill level.
Edit. I just watched drop number 6. Is that T7 the first off-road bike you’ve ever owned? You are going to get hurt dude. Get a WR250R or XT250 and learn the offroad basics. I’m not trying to be an asshole but it seems like you’ve watched too much RUclips and thought you could just buy a T7 and a Klim suit and go do a BDR with minimal off-road experience
Thanks for the comments I appreciate the concern and totally get it. Bought a ktm 200 to practice on the trails. This is my 2nd T7. Watch how I trash the first one🤣! If you can stomach it watch how I finished the ride in 12 days..... And even the bike survived too! 😁
@@TrippinwithMitch For sure. Again, not trying to be an asshole. I’ve been riding Dualsport/Adv for 10 years. I have a Super Tenere 1200 and a plated WR450. The T7 is a tough beast you won’t hurt it. Just keep practicing and be careful when riding alone. Lots of guys break bones out alone and need rescue and the BDRs are not easy even for experienced riders
