  • You may need to adjust your CPAP nasal pillows mask to get a comfortable fit. Here are step by step instructions to help you get it right. When you have sleep apnea you need a mask that helps give you the sleep you need to enjoy every day. Visit www.ResMed.com to learn more about compact nasal pillows masks used for sleep apnea therapy.
    Fitting a CPAP nasal pillows mask properly depends a great deal on your position. Facial muscles change when we lie down and relax even further once we’re asleep, so you may prefer to fit the mask while you’re in your sleeping position. Whether you sleep in a bed with no pillows or in a recliner, you may prefer to fit your mask in your usual sleeping position. If you experience difficulties in fitting your mask, please refer to your mask user guide for complete fitting instructions or discuss it with your care provider or equipment supplier.

    There doesn't seem to be a vent on this for exhaling . I have a nose mask also with no vent, can't exhale.

      Winner of a video, I been tryin to find out about "how do i clean my airtouch f20 mask?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Panvaryor Unexpected Preference - (search on google ) ? It is a good one of a kind guide for discovering how to eradicating sleep apnea and snoring without the headache. Ive heard some decent things about it and my partner got amazing success with it.

    I thought Res med would have had nose buds (a bit like ear buds) say in three different size to attach to the nasal mask that way you have more guaranteed air seal , unless the idea is already available.
    I’ve used my full mask for since Feb 2016 , last three days I’ve been using the nasal mask it having to get used to it.

    If the power goes out while I’m asleep using the full face mask on the bi-pap, will I suffocate?

    • @ResMedAmericas
      @ResMedAmericas  4 года назад +4

      Thank you for asking. In the event of a power outage, your CPAP simply shuts off and you can still breathe room air. Nasal and nasal pillows mask users will naturally breathe through their mouth to get room air. And full face masks have what’s called an anti-asphyxia valve in the front that automatically opens to let room air into your mask if your CPAP shuts off.

    • @ruben8tor231
      @ruben8tor231 3 года назад

      I’m thinking that is the purpose of the air vent holes so if the power goes out then you can still breathe.

      @ResMedAmericas I'm not sure this is accurate for people who don't mouthbreathe, I've heard tell that the moments between the mask detecting the wearer exhaling and actually kicking to provide air can feel like suffocation. I'm imagining those same people being in a bit of a bind if the power went out

      All of our masks are equipped with exhaust vents, to prevent you from rebreathing exhaled air. Please ensure that the mask vent holes are kept clear and unblocked to maintain the flow of fresh air into the mask. If you have any questions or concerns about your current equipment, please reach out to your supplier and they'd be happy to assist.

      Johnnie,

      Hi Martha, The soreness and marks you're experiencing can result from several factors, including sizing, cleaning method, frequency of cleaning, overtightening of the mask, allergies, etc. We'd recommend contacting your home medical equipment or healthcare supplier to discuss solutions for this and other potential causes of irritation right away.

    Is it normal for your nose to ache when wearing this?

    • @ResMedAmericas
      @ResMedAmericas  7 месяцев назад

      I'm sorry to hear about the discomfort you're experiencing with your mask. You should be able to sleep while wearing the mask, so while comfort can be quite subjective it is always something we strive for in every mask we make. Please contact your medical equipment supplier for a refitting and to discuss additional adjustments or options to help address the discomfort you're experiencing. They can also help you find a mask style and model that you find most comfortable. As with all things related to comfort, we also recommend discussing this with your physician who may also be able to determine what may be causing the nasal pain and headaches and offer options to help.
