    This 2 BR/1Bath apartment in Carnegie Hill was in a typical 70’s building, last renovated in the 80’s with completely encased interior walls with wood paneling, black granite tile floors. It desperately needed a gut renovation to bring it into the 21st Century.

    The wood panel walls with the Queen Mary look is interesting looking at a glance, but understandibly needed to be changed, and the final results are bright, clean, and airy. Extremely well done renovation.

    I hope they completely renovate this & continue with your design because it has a lot of potential and I know you’ll able to transform this.

    Well done. That old wooden panelling was oppressive. So much airier!

    This is a beautiful transformation. The old look was so outdated and depressing looking, but, I'm sure in its "day" it was what the trend was, but, IMO, very ugly.
    The new design, is timeless and will never look dated. The apartment looks ten thousand times better. Paula never disappoints.

    I love her work, but I'm shocked at the lack of discretion showed in almost every video. The comments about the budget always come off as snide and judgmental. It's not a once off occurrence - it happens over and over.

    I noticed you put the outlets horizontal. I am curious to know what the rationale was for this choice?

      AmosAmerica: The installer is an excellent craftsman and person, but he’s a little off. Like 90 degrees. To him, they’re vertical!

    wait so they bought a soccer team but wouldn't finish their home? priorities I guess

      the kid (?) bought a soccer team in London...that's what I heard, well, I think that's what I heard. It would have been nice if Paula were able to complete the whole entire apartment with her taste and style. I too was curious about the electrical sockets placed sideways. Was it just a preference or a reason they were placed like that?

    I find it in bad taste and unprofessional criticizing your client. You either don’t accept the work or don’t make derogatory comments. I am an architect with decades of experience so I cknow what I am ctalking about. I am not criticizing your work which is very good, only your attitude towards your clients.

    • @johnpickford4222
      @johnpickford4222 Год назад

      Cristina Manole: Ah, blow it out your pie hole. I’ve seen Paula take on an incomplete project or not lay out her vision and have the customer buy into it. She essentially had to work around crap that either they wanted to keep or didn’t want to spend money updating correctly. She is not as much criticizing the client as explaining what compromised her design. “You can’t light a fire when the woods all wet” and you don’t hire Paul’s MacDonald and handcuff her (unless she’s kinky and into that) so she produces less than 100%. But they own an English soccer team!! This family is like the British Royal Family: ass backwards on what’s important.

    Not sure why one would go through the whole business of a reno only to keep some fittings that really do need updating and improving. They missed the opportunity to evolve the space.
