This this gut renovation required a Department of Building Permit removing walls and dropped ceilings to create an open floorpan and complete rewiring, and through the wall heating/air conditioning units and builtin covers throughout. Refinished wood flooring throughout and installed new matching wood floors in the kitchen and hall.

Haven’t seen a Paula video in the longest and wonderful to see this.. Huge admirer of Paula’s and I am subscribed so not sure why there has been such a gap in viewing videos.
Anyway…great gut reno…only disappointment was the desk(?) in the kitchen. As the owners are huge cooks I would have created a huge pantry ( in an armoire form for lack of a better description!) But that is just me.. Glad to view your videos, Paula!

If that is a working wood burning fireplace, makeup air is imperative with the heavy duty kitchen exhaust fan. Have seen first hand a powerful fan literally suck out glowing ashes from then fireplace in these situations. Love the custom cut foyer carpet and how it is held away from the baseboards. Very old school.
The client went over-the-top with features but I love how subtle it still looks. Gorgeous space & layout. I love spaces like this where you can go around. And the wallpapers are really classy. 👌

Lovely. The entryway wall sconces are pretty but too large compared to the ceiling fixture. The console seems a bit too wide for the hall.

Prolly should've done kitchen in a different layout because of AC unit - so there won't be any obstacles to open that door underneath the sill - stove could go to the place where the sink is and hood could be placed over it - this would allow to place regular kitchen cabinet which could be easily opened to maintain AC unit.
Air conditioning unit next to a gas stove, is it not a building oxymoron? I understand that maybe the awkward placement could not be changed but at least the induction cook top versus gas would be better. Now you are cooking and trying to cool down the stove at the same time.

Hate all the brass hardware and lighting fixtures. I guess the customer is always right.
I'm sure your renovations cost a fortune. But I bet you didn't charge enough for this one.
This must be one of her worst renovations. She sounded frustrated and bitter about something in almost every room.
