The idw Dark Cybertron, Robots In Disguise, and most definitely More Than Meets The Eye (and it’s sequel, Lost Light) were such a big part of my child hood, and, even though (other than Dark Cybertron) these different sub lines didn’t feature Optimus much, I still really appreciate this alternative model. And, like everybody, I love the Bumblebee look a lot to. Thanks for doing this video Mr. Rahi! See you next time!
From Auralnauts: The Transformographagizers! Cars that trick your eyes! Based on what I'm seeing, I think I like the design he's done for the one from the Bumblebee movie more than the one from the IDW comic because the model looks just a little bit more polished. But you know, I also don't have much of a vested interest in Transformers. It certainly is impressive though what can be done with just a single set and it's the exact same character!
My problem with calling the IDW rebuild "better" is that it effectively defeats the purpuse of what the set was trying to do in the first place: a buildable Optimus Prime figure that can transform back and forth with minimal partsforming.
I was trying to figure out how I'd handle the optics for a Nemesis Prime to put next to this guy. Thanks for answering for me. Only question now is which shade of red to use
"Build a better lego Optimus Prime" also the "better" lego Optimus: Can't hold up his gun, has ugly inner side legs, ugly back of the legs, innacurate ab section, parts that pop off, worse eyes, 1 accessory, and doesn't have a fun transformation feature
The older I get the more I appreciate fan (and official!) alt builds! RR Slugger does some great videos on that topic too
Alt girls too...
I've been pretty out of the loop lately. Prior to binge watching this channel, I didn't even know this set existed.
Woah hey, is Ben Cossy an IDW fan?
Looks so much better

Ah MTMTE, my childhood.
James Robert's run is some of my favorite anything I've ever read!
Nice,Rewind Productions. 😁👍
- the only problem with original was that, he does not have knees
- so you added the knees?
- ...
- you added the knees, right?

The IDW prime was in TFW2005 a few times in the radicons forums you just gotta dig for the posts tho
Fascinating.
Do you have like a scale down Lego version of Optimus prime moc?

If you want a non-Transforming Optimus Prime, just get the Revoltech, or RED, or the many, many other non-Transforming Prime figures.
Agreed, and this model has a bunch of problems, so I don't get how it's an improvement

I’d like to see the alternate head on the original set
Ima get it and prob build the alternative model for size
I miss knee articulation in LEGO sets, I really do.
Here’s the thing this mod defeats the purpose of it being the original G1 model
Build back better!

If non transformable figure is what they want then they should’ve just sticked to kreo sets
Fx
It's worse
