Laminators are a girls best friend right at the moment. These are awesome Ann. I have the glossy pouches but would like to get the matt ones to have on hand for some of these projects. Be well & TYFS
If you cut the outline of the moth out of a scrap of card, you could use that to mask the card as you apply your Aurora flakes. Then, perhaps, you would avoid any little crumbs or flakes sticking to the places you have taped.
Maybe you could treat the cardstock with your antistatic bag, like you would before embossing. I would do it just before the laminating, because I wouldn’t want to reduce the stickiness of the pouch, you need all that to catch gilding flakes. Also, when gilding onto size, (sizing glue) I like to brush with a soft makeup blush brush. It pushes the flakes into the glue and brushes the excess off equally well, especially when I brush in small circles. This is so beautiful, thank you.

Instead of adding the scrap piece of card at the top of the pouches, have you tried placing the laminating pouches in between a piece or two pieces of copier paper like a carrier sheet? I've done that and it works really well and you don't get the wrinkles or slight bends in the laminated pieces.
@@PositivelyPapercraft we used to use carrier sheets in school to laminate the kids work Also when you use the flakes on the dragonfly, if you use a dry paint brush to take off the excess onto the white sheet and then just fold it and put the flakes back into the jar ( like you do with the embossing powder).

To make sure that the laminting items stay in the position I put them until they go into the machine, I put a hardcover book under the empty laminating sheet, put my items in, close it, carry the book to the machine and feed the paper in completely level with the machine. That way they make the transfer like on a conveyor belt, all smoothly.

Thank you for your demonstration. I have done something similar but I put a piece of paper over the top of the die cut and then put it in the laminating folder and then laminate it. Then cut the folder sides and it just parts. Hope you understand that. x

I really enjoy your videos. I was thinking with this technique if you sandwiched the cutout with the laminate in a Minc pouch. You wouldn't have to worry about sticking. Thank you for the your great videos.
Hi Anne, I was a bit worried about putting the laminator sheet in with the stained glass cutout, so I thought I would share with you what I did. I used an office stationary transparency film sheet just a bit longer so that I could get hold of it when finished and it pulled off with no problems at all. Absolutely love you ideas, thank you so much :o)
I may not know what I'm talking about but something you talked about got the wheels in my mind turning. As to what you said about the laminator sheet that shows through the cut outs being sticky at first but it doesn't stay that way. Before you laminate anything the inside of the pouch is not sticky until you run it through the laminator. The heat activates the adhesive on the sheet. Once you get the item out and it cools back down to room temperature it returns to the state it was before you ran it through the laminator. It's just a guess on my part but it kinda makes since, maybe.
So lovely! Makes me wonder about maybe some kind of sparkly embroidery thread in the pouch too? I’ll probably start going through my craft stash thinking “Oh! Let’s try this in a laminating pouch!” 😂

My laminator didn't like me sending one sided piece through, so I fold over a piece of greaseproof paper and it goes through a treat. 😊 The paper is reusable ❤ Thought I would share
Thanks Ann, another great idea. I was thinking that you only need a large enough piece of laminator pouch to adhere the die cut back into the outline shape not the whole piece of card - just an idea to stretch the use of your laminator pouches tfs

What a nice surprise to see a video today Thank you. Blue n green gilding flakes are gorgeous. Watching all these before I buy a laminator lol. When I use flakes etc I gently wipe things first with a tumble drier sheet but just make sure you like the smell cos it hangs around for ages.
Another outstanding performance Ann and what a Beautiful Moth, absolutely stunning. You also don’t know how excited I was when you did the Butterfly. I have that set and have never used it because I didn’t know what to do with it, WooHoo, now I know! I am also excited to try the snowflake effects in the laminator for my Christmas cards this year. I usually have my Christmas cards done by the end of January but I had my 5th foot operation in January to fuse my bones together and unfortunately it did not take so all has not been going well with trying to get around on a bad foot, but, we shall prevail with the help of my wonderful friend, Ann Melvin, on RUclips, lol 😆 Thank you Ann for all you do and I LOVE 💕 the excitement in your voice when you get excited when something turns out perfectly! I love your butterfly and the dragonfly
I like the snow on the matt pouch but the clear is my choice for sequins and glitter. sequin stars are great for a night sky over deep blue.

Beautiful! I wonder if you use embossing anti static bag around the moth before using gilding flakes if it would help with flakes sticking.

I can see using the embossing powders in aurora colors to make a cool night sky
I know I’m late, but when adhering glitter or flakes I use a piece of wax paper. You can rub really well without pulling bits up. Just my hack x

For the guilding flakes, maybe a sticky lint roller would get up the stray bits of flakes.

Love your laminator tips! I use a Swiffer cloth to get excess dust and flakes off my paper.
Just beautiful! I am shocked there is no residue left in the laminator!

You could also place a printer paper on top of the moth and iron it with a hot iron but no steam.
