- Kristi Noem is hitting back at the backlash over her shooting her dog to death. The South Dakota Governor told Sean Hannity she had to put her dog, Cricket, down after the animal ate the neighbor's chickens and tried to bite her. Noem first made the revelation in her new autobiography "No Going Back." Meanwhile, Donald Trump was back in court in the hush money case. He praised the way police have dealt with the college campus turmoil.
"Untrainable." Cesar Milan is laughing. The only one untrainable is the human.
So does Victoria Stilwell, Graeme Hall and Fredrik Steen.
The public is trying to train Noem into taking responsibility...

If the first owner of Cricket found her to be too aggressive and Noem was concerned about the safety of her children around this dog that she already had been warned to be too aggressive, then why did she even consider adopting Cricket in the first place? This story does not make sense.

In her book she just says that she "hated the dog".
She also wounds and then finishes the children's pet goat because he was 'nasty.'

Also, took Cricket on a bird hunting trip and gets upset that the pup wasn't following directions (obviously Cricket wasn't trained yet and was still only 1.5 years old). Then she gets upset that she took Cricket to a friend's house with CHICKENS (you know, also birds...) and is shocked that the pup killed the chickens... She knew Cricket wasn't trained, so why bring a literal fox/wolf into the hen house? What did she expect to happen? She made bad decisions, but blames the dog (and goat)? Seems a bit too trigger-happy really.
She should be arrested for animal cruelty. She could have taken it to vet for humane treatment or given it to a trainer.
But it was attacking her? Am I missing something?

Our pet puppy wanted to chase squirrels and rabbits, but now lives at home with our pet rabbit. We chose not to kill him and instead trained him. .

Obviously, she is not a very good dog trainer. It seems the dog was a constant reminder of her failure as a dog trainer, so she had to get rid of it. What it demonstrates is her failure as a human being.

Cruel 😡. She could have taken her dog to a professional to receive training once she knew her dog is showing aggressive behaviour. All this could have been avoided. Her dog could have been taken to a local no kill rescue and be rehomed to someone like the Asher House who knows how to handle these types of situations. How irresponsible.

Instead of continuing to train the animals or give them to a new owner, she just ends their existence? Goats don't tend to possess a smile one would market as perfume. Indeed, a "wretched smell" is pretty typical for a goat.
Noem and her editor really thought it was a good idea to leave the dog killing part in her book. For most people, putting downing your pet is not something you want to remember, let alone enshrined in a book.

Her initial explanation included hatred for both the dog and the unfortunate goat whose greatest crime was "smelling bad" and dirtying her children's clothing by doing what goats often do, butting. Now she's trying to frame it as a "difficult decision." The account in her book describes both those killings as knee-jerk reactions hinging upon anger/hate, the "difficult and making a decision" part, is only now arising. So, she's not only outed herself as cruel, but now, also a liar.

This woman is untrainable. She didn't even know how to take a bird from the dog or keep it crated until it was properly trained around small animals. Dog training 101: Never try to pull something from their mouth. Give them something of higher value (fav toy or treat) in exchange.

The fact that she thought shooting a 14 month old dog that she could not train properly would help her career is one of the dumbest moves in politics of all time.
So she had an untrained bird dog that attacked birds (what it is innately bred to do) and she killed it. The poor puppy only did what its instincts were telling it to do, had the dog been trained or properly kept it would not have attacked the chickens. There is zero excuse for what she did and her story keeps evolving to make her seem more empathetic as she realizes that her initial idea of sounding badass has 1000% backfired and instead she has been revealed to be the heartless, sociopath that she is. The fact that she would even think putting something like this in a book for readers in a country that spends over $100 billion dollars annually on pet care just shows how ignorant she is when it comes to the American public.
If Noem can't control a dog and has to kill it, how's she going to handle trump's antics! Maybe the same way.
