      @@222trixie check if it's leveled. And if still does the banging, it might need the springs replaced. The guy that came to do it said he had to replace the 4 springs, and that assures you you'll have more service out of the machine without constant replacing. Hope it helps

    What worked for me are the following steps:
    1. Make sure the knob is in the Normal position. Unplug and plug back the washer power cord.
    2. Turn the knob left, then right 3 times, then left, and then right. Now LEDs will be blinking signifying the system is in reset calibration mode.
    3. Turn the knob in any direction until only the Rinse LED is blinking.
    4. Press the Start/Pause button. The recalibration reset will start. Wait until this is over, which will take about 10 minutes.

    I was about to buy a new washing machine. I looked on RUclips. You did the trick. Never been calibrated in 8 yrs. I swear by whirl pool. I don’t wash clothes everyday like most ppl. But calibrated it and works fine. Going on a cruise in in 2 weeks and there was no way they deliver a new one in time. I’m so glad that this was the issue. I know I got another few yrs. I only wash 6 loads a month. Most ppl wash every day for a week all month. This worked for me. Yayyy 🎉

    Watched this like 100 times already. It worked perfectly after replacing the center hub. But then I forgot to do it again after suspension rods and the machine shut down during a load of towels. Couldn't get this sequence to work again and was going insane. Finally realized it was because my "fix" to deactivate the lid lock, came loose and the machine knew the lid was open. Funny how there's no videos that take into account the half-assed repairs I've done.
    Thanks for this vid.

    My problem was the water barely dibbled in, nowhere near enough to wash and then it just sat there. Or, if the washer did fill to the right level, it hung at rinse, drained and left the clothes soaking wet. Followed these instructions. The washer is working correctly now. Thanks!

    If you machine flows water while set to hot water it is your water inlet screen clogged. Pull it out and clean it. Use needle nose pliers and it pulls out like a Cork. Screw all this diagnostic testing. Something so simple took me all day to troubleshoot. Hit like if it worked. I had mine stuck in sensing mode. Try this if just hot works.

    Our 3-4 year old Whirlpool washing machine model WTW4850HW1 has been gradually shaking violently with certain loads, especially if there are only a few blankets or towels in it. We tried this re-calibration trick last night without replacing any parts and my wife said it ran better today. We will continue to see if it helps.

    • @Your-Self
      @Your-Self  2 месяца назад

      An even load distribution is very important on these machines.
      Also, suspension rods wear out fairly quickly. So, it might be prudent to replace them first for balance issues.

    • @macdaddychene
      @macdaddychene 2 месяца назад

      Those suspension rods aren't cheap either. I wanted to try the recalibration first before doing something like replacing the suspension rods. The washing machine has been running great when I did the recalobration from my first post until today when my wife believes she overloaded the machine with towels. She said she added more than usual to see what it would do and it did shake with a lot of noise but apparently it wasn't as bad as it used to be. She will lighten the load from now on to see if that helps with all the loads. If the machine continues to mess up, we can see about replacing the suspension rods. The machine is only about 3-4 years old.

    Thank you, this worked although I ended up trying it twice, I screwed up the first try. Will this solve a auto sense issue? For some odd reason, my machine decided to get confused, auto sense and full wash ended up backwards. For full wash the switch had to be on auto sense, and for auto sense wash, the switch had to be on full wash position. I have zero clue how it did that, it just started doing it all a sudden.

    Make sure you take the wet wash out and let it drain if you can. I held the button to off and it drained. Took the stuff out. Unplugged it, plugged it back in and started the recalibration. All set, maybe should of added that to the video to make sure stuff is out. But I looked through the comments first and saw what the person typed.

    Can you turn off the auto sensing? I want more water in my clothes when they're washing. I put spray and wash on my shirts because they get stained a little bit and they do not come out it doesn't wash the clothes like it's supposed to and never has since the day that I've had it please tell me if I can turn that off and it be a normal washing machine

      Some washing machines can be tricked by pouring a bottle of water on top of the clothes to make them heavier. The auto-sensing will assume there are more clothes and will use more water. Try it.

    We just bought a brand new Whirlpool and worked for a few days then when I washed a bed blanket, it refused to spin and drain so we went to Home Depot where we purchased it and the Appliances Mgr told us to unplug the machine (to reset it from most likely unbalance) and then plug it back in. No problems so far. Knock on wood!! Also, this is SUCH a cheaply made machine. It almost looks disposable. Almost.

    So I recalibrated mine, and had to stop the recalibration cycle because it began shaking violently and wouldn’t stop. I did not have this issue beforehand. Any ideas why?

    My 1998 Kenmore washer doesn’t have this calibration feature, or at least I don’t know it has.

    Mine goes thru calibration mode but after that doesn’t do anything. I checked for codes and there isn’t any. What is wrong with it ? Any ideas?

      Normally that is caused by a bad shift actuator.
